A mobile OS is a software platform on top of which other

programs called application programs, can run on mobile devices
such as PDA, cellular phones, smartphone and etc.

There are many mobile operating systems. The following are the
most prominent ones:

Google Android Platform e.g. Almost everyones phones
Ubuntu Touch e.g. Meizu MX4 (no ones phone)
Windows Mobile OS e.g. Lamin and Kortes phones
BlackBerry OS e.g. Kemis Phone
iPhone OS e.g. Robins Tablet
iOS
iPhone OS is an operating system run on iPhone and iPod. It is

based on Mach Kernel and Drawin core as Mac OS X. The Mac
OS X kernel includes the following component:

It is a platform and an operating system for mobile devices based

on the Linux operating system.

using Google-developed java libraries.

The Android platform contains the following layers:

Linux Kernel: Android relies on Linux for core system services

such as security, memory management, process management
and etc.
Android Runtime: it provides a set of core libraries which

supports most of the functionality in the core libraries of Java.
The Android Virtual Machine known as Dalvik VM relies on
the linux kernel for some underlying functionality such as
threading,. . .
Windows Mobile
Windows Mobile is a mobile operating system for smartphones and
tablets running on ARM architecture. Its primary focus is
unification with Windows, its PC counterpart, in software and
services; in accordance with this strategy, the Windows Phone
name has been phased out in favor of branding the platform as an
edition of Windows 10, although it is still a continuation of
Windows Phone, and Windows Phone 8.1 devices can be upgraded
to the platform.
Windows 10 Mobile emphasizes software using the Universal
Windows Platform, which allows apps to be designed for use across
multiple Windows 10-based product families with nearly identical
code and functionality, and adaptations for available input
methods.
Look and Feel - iOS

This has a simple layout, with shortcuts to launch apps displayed
in a grid, on an ever-expanding array of homescreens. The latest
version is iOS 9.X.X.
iOS has a Control Centre which gives quick access to commonly
used functions such as screen brightness, rotation lock and flight
Look and Feel - Android
The basic Android front-end looks very similar, hosting shortcuts

to apps on a series of sideways-scrolling homescreens.
The Android UI is different in a couple of fundamental ways,
though: it allows you to drop widgets (interactive, data rich
panels) as well as shortcuts onto homescreens, and to hide less
frequently used apps away in the app drawer.
Look and Feel - Windows Phone
Windows Phone takes a completely different design path from the

competition. Its homescreen is a tiled interface, with resizable tiles
flipping over to display more information about that app. You can
swipe to the left to get to all your apps and just like iOS and
Android, you can group apps together in folders.
Live Tiles give you little nuggets of information without forcing you
to open an app - the BBC Sport app, for example, gives you a
scrolling view of breaking news throughout the day.

personalisation and a ties in with Googles services. Perhaps best
of all, Android offers Widgets.

Simple, reliable and consistent across Apples range of products.
Youll find compatible accessories everywhere you go, if you choose
it. If youre new to smart mobile phones or already have some
Apple products in your home, Apples iOS just could be right for
you.
Windows Phone 8
simple, stable, both personalisable and innovative, Windows Phone
8 is only let down by the number of apps which are available for it.
If you love Nokia phones, have a family or run your own corporate
IT team, Windows Phone 8 could be your ideal OS.
