New Movies by Hunter Barnett and

Jason Ashburn
Mockingjay Part 1 (PG-13)
Based on the third book in the Hunger
Games trilogy, Mockingjay Part 1 is expected to be a big hit. This movie finds
Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence)
in District 13. Even though she has survived the Hunger Games twice, she isn't
safe from the Capitol. The Capitol wants
revenge. They're making it pretty clear
that no one is safe. Remember to
watch Mockingjay Part 2 coming out in
2015.
Dumb and Dumber Too (PG-13)
Adding on to the 1994 and 2003 Dumb
and Dumber movies, Jeff Daniels and
Jim Carrey should make this new funny.
The plot will follow Harry Dunne (Jeff
Daniels) and Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) 20 years later trying to track down
Harry's kid that he had no idea he had.
People have waited many years for the
sequel and many are expected to watch.

Top 5 NBA Players Of All Time

By Logan Tallent And Kolton Stakely
The National Basketball Association or
NBA has had some pretty good athletes
in its history. Here are the ones considered to be the top five.
First, Michael Jordan, a rough and
tough athlete who wasn't afraid of anybody or anything on the court. His statistics, attitude, and determination are
what convinced many people he was the
best of all time. Hakeem "The Dream"
Olajuwan, who got his place at number
two because of his power, grit, and how
he dominated in the low post, making

opponent look like a fool with his footwork. Coming in third is Shaquille
O'neal, an intimidating big man who
would brawl with anybody. His pure attitude to go big or go home is what got him
number three. Fourth place holder,
Larry "Legend" Bird, a type of player
who would tell you he will score forty,
then go out and do it. His confidence is
his main asset. Number five is Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar, with six regular season
MVP awards. This the all time record
and what got him on the list, along with
the all-time points record.
Top 10 NFL Teams of All Time
By Kolton Stakely
Personally, I think the St. Louis Rams
shouldn't even be mentioned in anything
beginning with the word "Top." In my
opinion, here are arguably the best NFL
teams of all time.
1. 1985 Chicago Bears
2. 1972 Miami Dolphins
3. 1991 Washington Redskins
4. 1984 San Francisco 49ers
5. 1999 St. Louis Rams
6. 1989 San Francisco 49ers
7. 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers
8. 2007 New England Patriots
9. 1971 Dallas Cowboys
10. 1986 New York Giants

Pawsitive Behavior by Kayleigh Smith
On October 31, 2014, we had an assembly
concerning positive behavior. We first
started
the
assembly
off
with The Seven Habits of Highly Effective
Teens. After that, we talked about a new
subject called Cub Cards. To get a Cub
Card, you have to have meet specific requirements for attendance, behavior, and
good grades. If you have every one of these
expectations each nine weeks, you get a Cub
Card! After we talked about the Cub
Cards, they handed out to the students who
earned them and an eighth grade group did
a little skit performance. It tied up the
whole assembly, to make it a wonderful, informational assembly!

Sensitive Spoons by Kayleigh Smith

What do spoons taste like to you? Scientists have created a spoon that sends microscopic electric currents that can put a
zap of taste on your tongue. The science
behind this fascinating topic is that scientists use a charge that can make tongues
taste certain kinds of food flavors, such as
sugar or salt. Scientists have experimented
with a series of tastes that can move minuscule electric pulses to one place to another. The pulses are scattered across the
spoon. When they place the pulses on the
spoon, they can find the repeated pattern
of the magnitude to find four different
kinds of taste groups they can put onto the
spoon. Taste groups include bitterness,
sweetness, salty, and sour tastes. They increased lights to intensify the spoon movements. Scientists thought they should add
color, feeling/appearance, smell, etc. to
show the movement of the tiny currents.
They brought pupils in to take the spoon
idea to the ultimate test. The pupils rated
the spoons accuracy to a percentage of approximately forty to eighty percent efficient. All the work that these scientists
have done could really help people who
have diabetes or to people with food allergies, like those who can't have Gluten
products.

Mrs. Ruthie Hunt
By Tyler Martin, Kolton Stakely, and Logan
Tallent

We spoke to the head boys basketball coach

on how he gets new players ready to get out
on the hardwood and run the score through
the roof.

We questioned the TPJHS principal, Ruthie

Hunt, about how she keeps the school under
control. We wanted to know what kind of rules
she enforces, what her job consists of, what
kind of rewards she has for good behavior, and
how her job is compared to the teachers jobs.

Q: What do the eighth graders mean to the

basketball team?
A: "Leadership, because they have been
around and they know what I want and expect from them."
Q: What are the keys to having a good season?
A: "Mainly just staying healthy, and doing
what we know to do, and also doing what we
practiced."
Q: What do the fifth and sixth graders mean
to the team?
A: "They are just as important as the eighth
graders because they are the future of the
team."

Q: What does your job consist of?

A: Helping the teachers with their jobs making sure the students are safe and happy.
Q: How hard is your job?
A: Stressful, but I have good teachers and
staff that make up for it.
Q: How do you keep the school under control?
A: "PAWS"itive behavior.
Q: Is this school's staff good?
A: Yes, they're hard workers, and are doing
good with my changes.
Q: Is a teacher's job similar to yours?
A: No, I'm an Administrator but, our jobs are
alike because we both want to give all of the
students in this school a good, safe education.

Taylor Swift just came out with a new

album that she titled 1989. Taylor released this album on October 27, 2014
and it became an instant success. She
sold 1.287 million copies of 1989 in the
first week alone, according to Nielsen
Sound Scan. The albums title, 1989, was
inspired by the music developed in her
birth year 1989. According to Swift,
some artists from the late eighties made
incredibly risky decisions as far as music
goes and she has followed suite. She has
two major hits out right
now, Shake It Off' and
''Blank Space'.' Taylor is
now more popular than
ever!

For all the Call of Duty fans out there,

a new game of the series has been released. The game is titled Call of Duty:
Advanced Warfare, and it came out on
November 3rd of this year. It was published by Activision and Square Enix,
and developed by Sledgehammer
Games, Raven Software, and High
Moon Studios. It is available for PS3,
PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. For those non-gamers
who don't know what Call of Duty is, it
is one of the most famous first-person
shooter games in video game history.
Metacritic rated the PC version 4 out
of 5 stars.

Take a Back Road by Cade Mountain

I know this is an older album, but hear
me out; its worth a listen! Patience is
a virtue which Rodney Atkins has
learned to appreciate. Rushing
through the creative process is no way
to get the job done, which accounts for
the lack of sales on his third album.
This is not the case for the fourth album Take A Back Road (2011). His
2006 album went platinum with four
number one singles, so he remained
faithful to his early methods instead of
once again rushing. Atkins wanted
people to connect and appreciate the
music on the latest album. The best
songs will be found late in the album,
which appears to be a tribute to fathers and childhood. For his next album, I see success coming down the
pike for Atkins this time around.
