2. Specify at least TWO functions for all the components that you have specified in
Question 1 above (e.g. mouse to draw a graphical image in MS-Paint.)
Remember, each device or component performs specific purposes for computer
operation.
3. It is important to know the configuration and the components that are installed in
our computer. Most operating systems have a utility program, which allows the
user to inspect the installed components and the status for each component.
Microsoft Windows also provide this program. Based on the instructions from the
demonstrator, find the utility program.
How to open the Device Manager utility program in MS-Windows:
Select the Start Button.
Click the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager.
Inspect the network adaptors installed in your computer and specify the
information that you found.
a) Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-LM
b) VirtualBox Host-only Ethernet Adapter
4. There are several main computer components that are not visible to computer
users. Based on what you have learned in class and from the experience of using
the utility program, specify FIVE computer components that exist inside the
computer that you are using. (Ask the demonstrator to help you to identify the
components if you are not sure.)
a) Processor
b) RAM
c) Motherboard
d) Central Processing Unit (CPU)
e) Power supply
