Housing Steering Committee Final
The process of establishing community housing goals is one that requires a great deal of community
input. To ensure that this process is inclusive, balances the many viewpoints that exist on this issue and
generates buy-in from all stakeholders, a Steering Committee and Working Groups will be formed.
These groups of community leaders will take on the difficult tasks of defining our community housing
problems, developing goals and measures of success, and creating implementation strategies for
achieving our community housing goals.
Steering Committee:
The Community Housing Steering Committee will be comprised of 11 members representing the groups
below:
Self-Appointed Members:
City of Steamboat Springs
Routt County
Chamber Resort Association
Human Resources Coalition
Yampa Valley Housing Authority
At large Members selected via application process:
Resort Employers
Development Industry
Business
Community
Beneficiary
Environmental
The Steering Committee will be appointed by the Routt County Commissioners and Steamboat Springs
City Council in mid March and will begin meetings in late March.
The role of the Steering Committee will be:
1. Define the process and timeline for developing community housing goals
2. Shepherd the process to ensure its success
3. Co-Chair the working groups
4. Coalesce working group information
5. Prepare final report on housing goals
Working Groups:
The Community Housing Working Groups will be defined by the Steering Committee and members will
be appointed from a list of interested community members.
The role of the Working Groups will be:
1. Community outreach
2. Study our housing issues and define the problem
3. Establish goals and metrics for addressing the problem
4. Identify strategies for achieving our goals
