1. Ph.D. and Research Associate salary is subjected to revised DST guidelines 2014 and
needs to be calculated as follows
Total per year = Basic salary + HRA
The stipend calculation for staying in Brazil (considering no exchange visit is allowed
during first year) is as follows a. Principal investigator
- maximum up to one month per year
b. Ph.D. Student
- maximum up to 18 months in total
c. Post-Doc
- maximum up to 12 months in total
The stipend for staying in Brazil will be provided in Indian currency ONLY as a part of
the project as per the following proposal
Principal investigator (one month per year)
- Rs.2.00Lakh per month
Ph. D. Student (JRF/SRF)
- Rs. 0.80Lakh per month in total without break
Post-Doc (preferably RA)
- Rs. 1.25Lakh per month in total without break
The stipend includes subsistence allowance and medical insurance. The cost of the air
travel will be included as part of the project. The airfare to principal investigator will be
provided each year. However, for Scientific Trainees (Ph.D./Post-Doc) the air-fare will be
provided only once. All the other expenses such as visa fee etc. will be borne by the
applicant. Please note that only Ph.D.(1) or Post-Doc (1) is permitted to visit Brazilian
collaborator laboratory in a project.
2. In case of multi-institutional project, the budget estimate to be given separately for each
institution.
