Surveying and monitoring of Animal Genetic Resources in my Country

The main obstacles/problems are:

Until 2011 individual research activities

No coordination
No unification of methods

66

Phenotypic characterization of AnGR in my country

The main achievements after 2007:

Confirmatory approach undertaken in situations in which some basic information on breed

identity and distribution is available; in such circumstances, the objective phenotypic
characterization is to validate breed identity and provide systematic descriptions of the breeds.

Ovchepolian sheep
Economically important production traits, milk yield

Sharplaninian sheep
Karakachanian sheep

Busha cattle
Buffaloes

Development and implementation of national programme for

livestock biodiversity (2011-2017)

Flock level data
