In Parshat Vayakhel, Bnei Yisrael

is still in the process of building the
Mishkan, bringing gifts and
oerings to donate to the Mishkan
before it is finally built by Bezalel. "

the Holy, and they

more gifts every
morning.""
There is
something very
interesting about this pasuk: The
word " "is repeated.
Nevertheless, it is only translated as
morning, leaving no recognition for
the repeated word."

Mishkan. They are in a sense trying

to do teshuva for their sin and
showing G-d that they are
committed to their relationship
with Him. This repeated word of
" "is showing that not only
was Bnei Yisrael doing teshuva by
giving donations, they got up early
in the morning to do it. They were
eager to rise and take part in
building the Mishakan and doing
teshuva. "
Bnei Yisrael is teaching us an
important lesson in our lives.
Though their sin was greater
than most, they were still able
to do teshuva, and moreover,
they got up early to do itthey did not waste one
second. As human
beings, we are not
perfect, we sin, and we
anger Hashem.
However, we can
always go back to G-d

This date marks the Yahrtzeit

of Sara Schneirer
(1890-1935), pioneering
founder of the "Bais Yaakov"
girls schools. In Europe
during the early 20th century,
the lack of a formalized
education system for girls
was placing Jewish girls at
risk of assimilation. Schneirer
was a seamstress in Krakow,
Poland who started a school
to convey the beauty and
wisdom of traditional
Judaism, with emphasis on
character development.

Israel Update: IDF Rescue

Mission
An IDF rescue mission descended into a
violent gunfight on Monday night after the
Israel Defense Forces sent troops into the
Palestinian Qalandiya refugee camp to retrieve
two soldiers who had accidentally entered the
area."
The two soldiers were safely extracted from
the camp, located north of Jerusalem, but ten
IDF troops were injured during the ensuing
riot. The soldiers were forced to flee from the
vehicle. They separated and ran for cover. Ten
Israeli troops, including five IDF soldiers and

five paramilitary border policemen, were

injured during the rescue mission and gun
battle, one moderately and the rest lightly.
They were taken to Hadassah Hospital in
Jerusalem for treatment.
