It’s Our
100th BIRTHDAY BASH!
Cub Scout Camps 2010

WHO: Cub Scouts and their families.

WHAT: Celebrate Scouting’s 100th anniversary by attending camp!

Day Camps
Day Camps are organized, one-day programs for Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Webelos and their families. Come
enjoy games, crafts, BB guns and archery! (Activities vary by location.)

Themed Camps
Themed Camps offer Tigers, Cubs, Webelos and their families a chance to participate in a non-traditional
camping experience. There are a variety of opportunities ranging from sports to fun in the wilderness!

Cub Scout Overnight Camps

These camps are overnight, outdoor experiences for the Cub Scout and his parent. It’s a full day of fun, along
with the excitement of an overnighter at an official Scout Camp. Activities may include BB guns, archery,
hiking and other theme-related activities. One and two night stays are available at some overnight camps.

Webelos Camps
Webelos Camps give a Scout entering 4th or 5th grade, in the fall, the experience, knowledge and self-
reliance he’ll need to make the transition to long-term Boy Scout camping. Webelos Scouts will witness the
outdoor adventure of Boy Scouting, while enjoying a program specifically tailored to them.
*Great discounts are given to units who reach their popcorn and Friends of Scouting goals.

WHY: Cub Scout Camps teach Scouts lessons and values that will last a lifetime, including honesty,
helping others, character development and respect for the law. Scouts learn these values
by participating in fun, family-friendly activities. Cub Camp brings the “outing” to Scouting.
Cub Scouts can also be a part of the VIP program, see inside for more information.

Be sure to RSVP!
Registration begins February 2010!

Why the Birthday Party?
This year, Boy Scouts of America celebrates its 100th birthday! This birthday represents much
more than a date on the calendar, it represents an important milestone around which to reintroduce
Scouting to America – to celebrate our rich heritage and to reinforce the important role Scouting will
play in shaping our country's future. Let the special celebration begin!

Get more through the VIP Camper Program

For every Mid-America Council camp a Cub Scout attends, he will receive a
unique sticker for his VIP lanyard, which he receives at his first camp. When
a Scout collects three or more stickers on his lanyard, he gains membership
into the VIP Camper Club and will be entered into a grand prize drawing.
To qualify, you must turn in the VIP Camper validation form. Find it online at
www.mac-bsa.org.

As an added bonus, participating in the VIP Camper program as a pack is an

easy way to qualify for the Summertime Pack Award. We provide the staff,
the activities, the location and the fun—you bring the Scouts! This award can
be found online as well.

Congratulations to our 2009 winner, Caleb Schierkolk, from Pack 218. You
could be the next winner, so be sure to turn in your paperwork, and maybe
you will be featured in the 2011 brochure. Come as a Pack, come as family,
however you come, be sure to attend Cub Scout Camp 2010!
