DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS

LEVEL 7BUSINESS RESEARCH

FINANCIAL SERVICES in roles such as Account Manager,
Financial Controller, Financial Officer, and Debt Collector.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY in roles such as IT Project Coordinator,
IT Project Manager, and IT Manager.
TOURISM in roles such as Tourism Co-coordinator, Tourist Guide,
and Tourism Management.
HOSPITALITY in roles such as Hotel Manager, Hotel Coordinator,
Scheduling Manager, and Restaurant Manager.
HEALTH SERVICES in roles such as Health Facilities Manager,
Hospital Scheduling Manager, and Unit Manager.
EDUCATION in roles such as Programme Administrator,
Recruitment Manager, and Operations Manager.

The Diploma in Business


provides career-minded students with a
robust understanding of management theory and practice
within a business context. On completion, graduates are well
prepared for management roles in their chosen
industry or profession.

The Business Research Strand is composed of business academic research


courses ideal for students who want to progress to further studies or
research in other institutions (e.g. Degree, Grad Diploma or Masters).

6 core courses make up the Diploma in Business Level 7,


and are offered throughout the year with two offered at a time.

ENGINEERING in roles such as Administrator, Manager, Scheduler,


Facilities Manager, and Site Manager.

ACADEMIC ENTRY

Successful completion of a Degree or National Diploma in Business Level 6 or overseas equivalent, or a minimum of 3 years experience in business administration with
a qualification at level 6 or higher, or relevant background in business either through
qualifications or experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning from previous qualifications will be made at the discretion of EDENZ Colleges.
English Entry: IELTS 6.0, Pearson Test, or equivalent with no band lower than 5.5.

CREDIT VALUE AND PROGRAMME DURATION

The Diploma in Business (Level 7) is a 120 credit Diploma or 1 academic year equivalent (32 to 37 weeks).

STRAND

Students are required to do


2 elective units with specialisation
in Business Research or
2 courses taken from any
EDENZ programmes.

Business Research Methods


1. Identify and analyse different research methods used in business management research
(and other relevant fields of study).
2. Identify, understand and analyse the different steps in the research process.
3. Analyse philosophical, ethical and political issues underlying research.
4. Design and carry out a simple research methodology.
5. Communicate research findings orally and in writing.

Applied Statistics for Business

1. Use statistics software to analyse business and financial data and predict and report findings.
2. Evaluate sampling and experimental design and recognise appropriate design to analyse,
interpret and/or present business data.
3. Critically examine the role of statistics in contemporary business and recognise relevant ethical
responsibilities (for researchers and users of statistical information).
4. Create a financial statement with a recommendation report.
