Dear Sir/Madam,
PROPOSAL FOR MATH EXPLORACE AT SK LAJAU BEAUFORT
Introduction
We are a group of students from Program Pengijazahan Guru (PPG)
Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). We are planning to organise a
Math Explorace at your school on xx November 2014. The activity is
a course assignment as a partial fulfillment for English for
Occupational Purposes subject we are taking this semester. I am
writing to you to seek your consent to allow us using your school as
the venue for the programme. The programme will benefit the
students from your esteem school to improve their English skills and
Mathematics knowledge.
For your further information, one of our group members is a teacher
at your school.
Background and Purpose
Mathematics is a very important subject. Be it basic or advance,
people need to have a mathematical knowledge to solve calculation
problems, simple or complex. In our pursuit for an advanced
country, we have to have good mathematical skill together with
science. As such, teaching mathematics in various ways is very
crucial so that students can learn the subject more effectively. In
this view, the proposed Math Explorace will be an interesting and
fun way for the students to learn the subject whilst enjoying the
outdoor activity. It is our hope that at the end of the programme
they will learn mathematics leisurely.
Plan
Our plan for the Math Explorace is detailed below:
(a) Details of the Math Explorace
Date: 8 November 2014
Time: 10.30am
Venue: Padang SK Lajau Beaufort.
(b) Participants

The participants for the Math Explorace are made up of Year 4, 5


and 6 based on the teachers recommendation. A total of 90
students will take part in the programme.
(c) Facilitators
A total of 10 facilitators including 5 of us from this this study group
will organise and facilitate the programme. As such, we seek your
kind cooperation to assign 5 teachers from your school to assist us
excluding Cikgu Osman Tahir who is already in our study group.
