Tentatively due later in the year, ANDY BLACK's debut album which was produced by John Feldmann is expected to include
collaborations with FALL OUT BOY's Patrick Stump, Gerard Way, 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER's Ashton Irwin and ALL TIME
LOW's Rian Dawson.
Regarding the making of ANDY BLACK's debut CD, Biersack told U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine: "It's completely different, very unlike my
entire career, which has been spent in a collaborative effort with four other individuals. There's also a precedent when it comes to making
a BLACK VEIL BRIDES record. At this point now, this is our fifth record that we're making and that's not to say that we go in with a
cookie-cutter approach, but we certainly know stylistically what we like. The odd thing about the solo record was there was no precedent."
Asked what ANDY BLACK sounds like, Biersack said: "I think my intention for this was to go as far in the other direction as possible.
Sonically, the goal was to really play with music and a lot of different stuff, to have a lot of odd instrumentation and to have a lot of
programmed stuff, keyboards and more classic, almost pop-rock guitar. It's more U2 than MEGADETH. There are no guitar solos on the
record. There's a lot of drumming styles; there's some weird sleigh bells. It was about playing with music and seeing what happened. We
came up with something in the vein of stuff I love U2, Adam Ant It's somewere between Springsteen, new romantic and modern gothpop music."
Biersack previously described ANDY BLACK as a "fun and artistic way for me to try something that musically I wouldn't want to force
into BLACK VEIL BRIDES."
The singer said that when he informed his bandmates about the project, "I made it very clear it was a passion project on the side, and
everybody in the band gets it."

On their second record The Builders and the Butchers had the
good fortune to be working with Chris Funk from The
Decemberists & Black Prairie. Unlike their first records which was
recorded in a living room, Salvation was recorded in the
legendary Type Foundry Studios in Portland Or.
Salvation is a Deep Dark Well features a multitude of guest
instrumentalists and dense tracking of acoustic instruments,
giving each song it's own unique flavor. Mr. Funk brought in a
legit gospel choir for the final track The World is a Top, and
Analisa Tornfelt and Sebastian Bibb-Barrett fill our the sound
with Violin and Trumpet.
The album was mastered by Portland legend Tucker Martine,
who masterfully fit each of the pieces together. This record was
released in 2009 and is the Builders most widely acclaimed to
date.

The Bones Of It is the 8th album release from Scottish singersongwriter Carol Laula, spanning an inspiring 25-year career.
The album comes after Laula's burning desire to make the album
she has always wanted to make and do so with the people with
which she has wanted to create it after a hiatus from working on

between the sweet, clear delicacy of Joni Mitchell and the

Bluebells), David Scott (The Pearlfishers), Marco Rea and Stuart
Kidd (The Wellgreen) and Brian Docherty. As well as releasing
seven albums - Still, Precious Little Victories, Naked, First
Disciple, To Let, Kitchen Stories and her most recent to date,
Answers in the Mirror - Carol still finds the time to tour
extensively, treating her fans worldwide to a voice and repertoire
that can move even the hardest heart.

Liquid Generation was one of Seattle's first Neo-Psyche bands in

the early '80s. They released one rocking/rave-up single, '' to
Zen'' b/w ''I Love You,'' then they were gone. Now it's time for
their first CD, Quarter To Zen, 16 songs - all recorded long ago in
the purity of 4 & 8-track analog, pushing the VU needle way into
the red.
Inspired by the Pebbles/Nuggets style re-issues of the early '80s,
they picked up the gauntlet and ran with it, covering The Kinks,
The Troggs, more obscure '60s bands like The Remains, The
Choir, The Ugly Ducklings, The Gants, and The Chob, plus
Pacific NW rock and roller The Wailers, Don & The Goodtimes
and more. Many of those are gathered here as well as a
splattering of their own compositions.
Nothing pretty or sweet here, nothing clever, just pure rock from
five young dudes with nothin' to lose.

influential Miami singer, the late, great songwriter and
producer Clarence Reid aka Blowfly, the original nasty rapper.
Reid has had a career spanning 50 years that saw him pen
songs for Betty Wright, K.C. & The Sunshine Band and Sam &
Dave among others.
The new album is a return to the form of his classic releases

Back If There's Nothing To Go Back To is Richmond Fontaine's
tenth full-length record and their first to be recorded at heralded
Flora Recording and Playback. The record features the stalwart
line-up of Sean Oldham on drums, Dan Eccles on guitar, and
Paul Brainard on pedal steel.
Freddy Trujillo joins on bass for his first recording with RF, and
long time friend Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists, Black Prairie)
plays keyboards. This is the band at its best. From the epic ''A
Night in the City'' to the pared-down acoustic ''Three Brothers
Roll into Town'', to Dan Eccles' inspired guitar work on ''Don't
Skip Out on Me'', RF again has produced a treasure trove of
beautifully executed story songs, the likes of which are rarely

the foreground in Bartoks music, more abstract in the Schnittke and Lutoslawski. Humor is
a tool of provocation and survival in Schnittke and to some extent Lutoslawski, a cheeky
attitude anchored by deep purpose. In Bartok, the boisterousness and teasing charm of
folk dances gives way to moods of profound melancholy.

ago, as a guest with John Coltranes group, Jack DeJohnette played with the fathers of
Ravi Coltrane and Matthew Garrison, and the program of In Movement opens with

A document of a 2012 Japanese solo recital not only the last in his homeland but the last
anywhere - by idiosyncratic improviser Masabumi Kikuchi (1939-2015).
One of the un-categorizable greats, Kikuchi occupied his own musical universe and in his
final years was quietly and systematically severing his ties to jazz, drifting instead toward
what he called - floating sound and harmonies, - introspective and poetic improvisations.
Song forms still sometimes materialized. Kikuchi revisits Little Abi, a ballad for his
daughter, which the pianist once recorded with Elvin Jones. And there is a surprising and
very touching version of the wistfully yearning theme from the 1959 Brazilian film Black

Zehetmairs insightful approach to Robert Schumann has already been demonstrated on
ECM New Series with the Zehetmair Quartet, whose recording of two Schumann string
quartets won prizes including the Gramophone Award as Album of the Year in 2003.
The composition of the Symphony no. 1 Spring (1841) drew inspiration from Schuberts 9th
Symphony and from the poetry of Adolf Bttger. The Phantasie and the Violin Concerto
(both 1853) had quite different fates. The Phantasie was premiered to huge acclaim after
initial performances. The Violin Concerto had to wait more than 80 years for its premiere,
