This position is located in the National Hearing Center, Office of the Chief Administrative
Law Judge (OCALJ), Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR). The incumbent
serves as the primary adviser to management in the use of automated data processing
(ADP) systems with responsibility for oversight, management, and maintenance of ADP
systems in a multi-operating system environment and as liaison with vendor
representatives. This environment entails programming and processing, as well as
administration and management of word processing, data processing, telecommunications,
batch processing, database management/programming, electronic spreadsheet
processing/programming, and security.

Serves as the Local Area Network (LAN) Administrator providing analytical, technical and
administrative support, including independent decision-making for the hearing center LAN
system.

Independently, with minimal direction, installs, configures, upgrades and


troubleshoots locally purchased and approved information technology (IT) systems
hardware, software and other peripheral, such as palm pilots, scanners, digital
cameras, Virtual Private Network (VPN) card readers, bar code readers, desktop
printers, etc., within the networking environment. Tests, installs, implements, and
supports new or existing application software and/or operating systems
following Headquarters directives.

typically in or related to the position and which demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills and
abilities required for successful performance in the position. Specialized experience includes installing,
