make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

Removal of the Tachometer from the Mounting Sleeve


NOTE: The tachometer and mounting sleeve are removed from the landing gear during the Get Access
procedure.
(1) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6). Then remove the tachometer (1) and the drive (3)
together from the mounting sleeve (5).
(2) Remove the nuts (2) and the screws (4), then remove the drive (3) from the tachometer (1).

Preparation for Installation


(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton
- (Material No. 14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No. 08BAA9).
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Grease-Thread Anti-seize Graphited and Petrolatum - (Material No. 03LBB1) to:
the screws (4) and (7)
the splines of the tachometer drive (3)
the debris guard adaptor.
(5) Put the electrical cables in the correct positions. Make sure that there are no kinks in the electrical
cables.

Installation of the Tachometer


(1) Make sure the coupling attached to the drive (3) is in the correct condition.
(2) Attach the drive (3) to the tachometer (1) with the screws (4) and the nuts (2).
(3) TORQUE the screws (4) and the nuts (2) to between 0.2 and 0.25 m.daN (17.70 and 22.12 lbf.in).
(4) Put the tachometer (1) and the drive (3) together in position on the mounting sleeve (5) and install the
washers (6) and the screws (7).
(5) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 0.20 and 0.25 m.daN (17.70 and 22.12 lbf.in).

Test
(1) Do a BITE Test of the EFCS:

(a) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

(b) Set the related SEC(s).

For the tachometer(s) 19GG and/or 22GG:


on the overhead panel 23VU, release the FLT CTL SEC 3 pushbutton switch, then push it
in
on the overhead panel 24VU, release the FLT CTL SEC 2 pushbutton switch, then push it
in.

For the tachometer(s) 20GG and/or 21GG:


on the overhead panel 23VU, release the FLT CTL SEC 1 pushbutton switch, then push it
in.

(c) Do the BITE test of the EFCS computers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-96-00-740-001) .
(d) Make sure that the MCDU shows no maintenance message related to the tachometer.

(e) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
