both at her studio in Leeds, and in Los Angeles, the album is co-produced by Corinne with Steve Brown, her collaborator on her critically

Toronto-based raucous rock outfit Say Yes have just announced their debut LP Real Life Trash Mag will be released via
Dine Alone Records on April 29, 2016. Co-produced with Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Big Wreck) and Billy Talent guitarist Ian
DSa, the LP was recorded live off the floor at Vespa Studios in Toronto.
Comprised of drummer and principal songwriters Jordan Hastings, bassist Michael Zane, and guitarist/vocalist Adam
Michael, the band features longtime veterans of Canadas underground rock scene and alumni of acts like Alexisonfire,
Saint Alvia, and Jersey who waste little time leveraging their talent and experience to gain considerable traction in a few
short years. On the back of their explosive debut EP, Say Yes logged countless hours on North American highways,
bringing their no-holds-barred brand of riotous rock to countless dive bars, some major festivals, and everything in
between. Subsequently, much of the material comprising Real Life Trash Mag has been road tested and fan approved, and
the heavy touring has been a welcome catalyst for the bands development. Getting closer as a band and having a better
idea of what we want to be, our sound is more unified this time around, Michael says. These songs are more
straightforward and easy to latch onto.
Lead single Once Forward Twice Back kicks off the festivities as any album opener should: with a sampling of everything
that follows. From its pounding lead riff to its soaring and sticky chorus and sing-along-ready whoas, the track embodies
everything there is to like about Say Yes. Lyrically, Real Life Trash Mag treads heavily in sarcasm and cynicism, pointing a
dark-tinged lens at its askew antagonists to exploit everyday vices and (false) virtues. So it basically reveals their
individual deviance and leads towards their collective demise in the end, Michael shares all set to Say Yess blazing and
boisterous soundtrack.
Thanks to their diverse musical collage, Say Yes have already impressed fans from a myriad of different backgrounds. Our
roots run deep in a few different scenes, Hastings points out, putting them in equally good company alongside past
tourmates like The Sheepdogs, Danko Jones, Head of the Herd, The Flatliners, and at major events like Canadian Music
Week, Riot Fest, and Burlingtons Sound of Music Festival.
The band is set to bring their fictitious Trash Mag friends and frenzy-inducing performances back on the road in the coming
months. We just want to be busy and get as many people amped up as we can, comments Zane.

Though theyve been playing together since 2006, the members of Toronto-based pop-rock quartet Janes Party - Devon Richardson, Tom

Ready to take off after years roving Torontos vibrant bar scene and touring great swaths of Canada, their third full-length album, Tunnel
Visions, arrives as their most confident and mature effort to date. Produced by Blue Rodeos Greg Keelor and recorded at his remote farm
in Southern Ontario, its comprised of songs about being on the road, about losing loved ones, about growing up and coming to grips with
life.
Even while running the gamut of emotions and themes, the bandmates never lose the buoyant, hooky songwriting or soulful harmonies
theyve honed over nearly a decade of collaboration, and their hard-won chemistry is evident in how effortless the execution comes off. With
Tunnel Visions, they offer an original take on a classic sound, with compositions that feel at once familiar and fresh. Their diverse array of
sounds jumps across and often fuses genres from folk to funk to stripped-down guitar rock, with synth-pop flourishes and splashes of
grunge. These are plaintive songs and gritty songs, songs that strike a tonal balance between chip-on the-shoulder tenacity and Sunday
morning malaise, between small-town intimacy and big-city bravado.
The production, too, is polished to a sheen, with input from outside voices entering the picture for the first time. Lead single Coming on
Strong is co-produced by The Darcys and features legendary singer/songwriter Jim Cuddy on backing vocals. The album, mixed by Chris
Stringer and mastered by Joao Carvalho, showcases a sound thats more layered and sonically rich than anything the band has created
thus far. This is a long way from the Janes Party that recorded and self-produced their debut album in a garage in Torontos Jane and
Finch
neighborhood.
Two years in the making, Tunnel Visions speaks of a band thats found itself, and of one of Torontos best-kept secrets stepping out of the

Over the past 15 years, Laura Cantrell has been a familiar

presence on the U.K. country music scene. The Nashville-born,
New York-based artist has developed a loyal audience through
consistent touring, and numerous radio interviews and sessions
for BBC programs hosted by Bob Harris, Andy Kershaw and the
late John Peel, who famously championed her debut album, Not
The Tremblin Kind.
Her new release, Laura Cantrell At The BBC compiles the best of
her on-air performances from 2000- 2005, including several

as an Americana artist on the airwaves of the venerable British
broadcasting system. Laura Cantrell At The BBC features
performances recorded at the BBCs famous Maida Vale
recording complex, the Broadcasting House studios in London,
and the more informal setting of 'Peel Acres,' John Peels home
studio.
Song selections range from fan favourites of Cantrells catalogue
like 'The Whiskey Makes You Sweeter'and 'Bees' to covers like

This is the 10th album released by UK singer songwriter Peter

Bruntnell. Recorded between February and June 2015 and
produced by Peter, Nos Da Comrade (which means 'Good Night
Comrade' in Welsh) was recorded in Bruntnell s home studio in
deepest Devon, and in the village hall in the idyllic village of
Mortehoe, where the band set up and blasted out the tunes: Mick
Clews (drums), Peter Noone (bass) and Peter (electric guitar and
vocals). Overdubs were then added by James Walbourne
(guitar), Dave Little (guitar), Dai Godwin on backing vocals and
Peter Linnane (mastering engineer) on string machine and pump
organ. Peter Bruntnell has a unique 'way with a tune' like no
other contemporary artists.
Twenty years into his recording career, the beauty and
resonance of his songs has rarely faltered... Nos Da Comrade...
has 11 songs on typically eclectic topics: Donald Trump (Mr
Sunshine, engaging, almost early Elvis Costello new wave); Yuri

Work on Dark Side Of The Moog started without any solid

intention and wasnt planned as a series at all. There was only
the aim that it didnt sound like Schulze only, so I decided that
Namlook had to make the final mix.
The influence Namlook had on Klauss music in the middle of the
nineties should not be taken lightly, because although Klaus
dearly loved those early-analogue elements from his own music,

actress Patricia Vonne collaborating on songs with some of
the most distinguished Texas musicians that have inspired and
informed her music: the late Doyle Bramhall, Alejandro

Klaus Schulze: The whole series was a very unpretentious

project. Because I had always kept total control with my own
albums, I let Pete take it off my hands and could make
compromises. That was juicy for me, cause I dont work with
other electronic musicians usually. It was a total different
chemistry compared to say Manuel Goettsching, who I
understand completely. From that point of view it was a real
challenge. I never could work with somebody like me, Id rather
do it on my own. The few people I have worked with, like Rainer
Bloss, had to have strong egos to prevent themselves being
dominated by me. Namlook once said, my music was often too
emotional from his point of view. Namlook is much more rational
than me, thats why I always kidded him with the nickname the
banker but this oppositional aspect made it exciting for me. I
need people who work contrari-wise.

Three years after their sensational debut

"Legends", the Austrian sextet DRAGONY

12 hammering Symphonic Power Metal

played in a compelling way by MASTERS OF
DISGUISE, as though there was no tomorrow.

Toronto-based raucous rock outfit Say Yes have just announced their debut LP Real Life Trash Mag will be released via Dine Alone
Records on April 29, 2016. Co-produced with Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Big Wreck) and Billy Talent guitarist Ian DSa, the LP was recorded
live off the floor at Vespa Studios in Toronto.
Comprised of drummer and principal songwriters Jordan Hastings, bassist Michael Zane, and guitarist/vocalist Adam Michael, the band
features longtime veterans of Canadas underground rock scene and alumni of acts like Alexisonfire, Saint Alvia, and Jersey who
waste little time leveraging their talent and experience to gain considerable traction in a few short years. On the back of their explosive
debut EP, Say Yes logged countless hours on North American highways, bringing their no-holds-barred brand of riotous rock to
countless dive bars, some major festivals, and everything in between. Subsequently, much of the material comprising Real Life Trash
Mag has been road tested and fan approved, and the heavy touring has been a welcome catalyst for the bands development. Getting
closer as a band and having a better idea of what we want to be, our sound is more unified this time around, Michael says. These
songs are more straightforward and easy to latch onto.
Lead single Once Forward Twice Back kicks off the festivities as any album opener should: with a sampling of everything that follows.
From its pounding lead riff to its soaring and sticky chorus and sing-along-ready whoas, the track embodies everything there is to like
about Say Yes. Lyrically, Real Life Trash Mag treads heavily in sarcasm and cynicism, pointing a dark-tinged lens at its askew
antagonists to exploit everyday vices and (false) virtues. So it basically reveals their individual deviance and leads towards their
collective demise in the end, Michael shares all set to Say Yess blazing and boisterous soundtrack.
Thanks to their diverse musical collage, Say Yes have already impressed fans from a myriad of different backgrounds. Our roots run
deep in a few different scenes, Hastings points out, putting them in equally good company alongside past tourmates like The
Sheepdogs, Danko Jones, Head of the Herd, The Flatliners, and at major events like Canadian Music Week, Riot Fest, and Burlingtons
Sound of Music Festival.
The band is set to bring their fictitious Trash Mag friends and frenzy-inducing performances back on the road in the coming months. We
just want to be busy and get as many people amped up as we can, comments Zane.

Indeed, The Nationals debut was a portent. The group took form around five displaced Ohioans living in New York two sets of brothers
and one best friend. Formed in Brooklyn in 1999, the bands line-up has remained consistent to this day with vocalist Matt Berninger fronting
two pairs of brothers: Aaron (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar), and Scott (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
Their first full-length established them as a band capable of making smart, naked, and bracing rock music. Though it took time for them to
build their audience, smart critics immediately swooned. No Depression said, The National has created nearly a dozen picture-perfect
Americana bar-soaked gems with its debut album. Creative Loafing described it as a merciless hybrid of plaintive American folk with the
mordant gallows humor of Nick Cave and Jarvis Cocker. The Boston Phoenix called it a self-assured, well-written debut from a band who
get just about everything right.
A series of increasingly impressive albums; unique, genre-bending side projects; and their development into an incendiary live band would
eventually raise The Nationals profile, but the germ of something great was there from the start.
The National have become an indie rock institution. Their full catalogue is a must stock item in the same way as classic
catalogues by artist like Leonard Cohen, R.E.M. and Radiohead.

Plunging into the desperate erotica of their Leonard Cohen-meets-Joy Division world, this Brooklyn quintet sounds both decadent and
deprived when brooding about betrayal, lust, even their snappy new outerwear. Rolling Stone
Recording sessions for The Nationals second album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, took the band to seven different studios, from
Williambsurg to suburban Connecticut. They worked with Nick Lloyd as well as co-producers Peter Katis (fresh off his work on Interpols
Turn On The Bright Lights) and Paul Heck, a long time A&R man who had worked on projects like Red Hot & Riot and Luaka Bops 2001
Shuggie Otis reissues. Padma Newsome, of the alt-classical quartet Clogs, contributed string arrangements on a number of tracks. Katis
also adds some dazzling keyboard underpinnings.
While their debut album was recorded before the band had performed live, Sad Songs is a record packed with the energy and dynamics
only a stage-savvy and road-weary group can attain. It was a great leap forward for the band, an omnibus of rock songwriting that is by turns
upbeat and downcast, electric and acoustic, raging and atmospheric.

The Nationals sophomore album, Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers (2003), found the band emerging onto a larger stage. Uncut called it a
genuine treasure and named it an album of the year; it was hailed by Rolling Stone and the indie media; and Magnet, La Liberation
(Paris), and the Chicago Tribune were only a few of the publications to tap it for their year-end lists.
In France, the band had become such a sensation that renowned DJ Bernard Lenoir invited them to perform on his Black Sessions
following US buzz bands like The Rapture and Interpol. A track from that session, Murder me Rachel occupies the warm-blooded heart of
Cherry Tree, a 7-song collection that delves the depths and brought their tension-wire rock to new heights. Clocking in at just under thirty
minutes Cherry Tree was an EP, a mini-LP, or a bridge to the future. It features five new songs and two bonus tracks, including one of those
aforementioned live performances from France inter radio and a trans-oceanic duet between the Nationals singer Matt Berninger and Clogs
Padma Newsome. The projects that followed Cherry Tree transformed The National from underground stars into an indie rock institution,
with a tour opening for Arcade Fire and with guest appearances on major television shows such as the Late Show with David Letterman.

Mirror is the first ECM New Series album from Estonian composer Tonu Korvitz (born
1969), who emphasizes his links to his homelands music at several levels.
The album begins with a fantasy on a song by Veljo Tormis. Like the older composer,
Korvitz has been influenced by folk song and archaic musical tradition, which find their
echo in the refined and texturally-rich spectrum of his own, labyrinthine pieces. His music
is well served here by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic
Chamber Choir under Tonu Kaljustes assured direction and by soloist Anja Lechner.
Lechners cello is foregrounded in Peegeldused Tasaset Maast (2013), Laul (2012, rev.
2013) and the albums largest piece Seitsme Linnu Seitse Und (2009, rev. 2012), a
collaboration with the poet Maarja Kangro, which is both choral suite and cello concerto.
In these seven dreams of seven birds the choir sings in Estonian and English and the cello
conjures both birdsong and swooping flight. Tasase Maa Laul (Plainland Song), a fresh
arrangement of a Tormis melody has Kadri Voorand as vocal soloist, supported by strings
and by Tonu Korvitz on kannel, the Estonian psaltery.
