WAR!!
By Pierre Sur-coraislamy Scrivener to the Court of the Duc de Rheged.

Death and Destruction in the North!

Finally it has come to us on this blessed realm. The vile
denizens of the wasteland that was once the fair land of Eden
have begun slaying the populace and defiling the land. In the
month of Hewiung two of their armies marched upon the
peaceful peoples of Carwhinley and Lanercost. The populace of
Carwhinley, mostly made up of Skinks who lived within the
lands of Baron Gustavos Altenfeltman (may he rest in Morrs
peace) was attacked by the vile horde of Brynar the Corrupted,
an account of the battle can be found later within this issue.
Shortly before the attack on Carwhinley the Blood Lord
himself led his warband into the Holy Lands of Lanercost
where he slew the pitifully few defenders and desecrated the
lands. Both of these once prosperous fifes have now been
raised and despoiled their populaces enslaved or sacrificed to
the Dark Gods.
This is an ill omen for surely the future looks grim for all free
peoples. Whilst the Lords of chaos rampage our noble Lords
do little to dissuade them.

The Imperial Army on the march

The Great Game.

By Pierre Sur-coraislamy Scrivener to the Court of the
Duc de Rheged.

A treatise on the movements of the armies

of Rheged.
The Minions of Chaos
Over the preceding months the hordes of Chaos have
continued to explore their new surroundings. To the north
and to the East they discovered yet more fifes of the free
people whilst to the south west they found a lucrative Bog
Oak Forest. Tired of their exploration the Blood Lord
(age unknown) finally plucked up the courage to attack the
free people of Lanercost and Carwhinley. As has been
discussed these battles were short and bloody affairs
although the free people may take heart from the
effectiveness of the skinks poisoned weapons. It is with
great joy that I can inform you that the Skink Chieftain Ai
Tich Hoo(58) survived the attack on his realm and he has
escaped vowing to fight the vile denizens of chaos wherever
they may be. I will not rest until I have seen them
expunged from Rheged. Brave words from so little a
fellow. The Blood Lord was unavailable for comment
something about jobs and doing it himself!

known as Castel St Illoth. Further to the North an old

Keep of the fading remains of the Empire of Cardurnock
was discovered. Its stout hearted and loyal garrison
refusing the Ducs kind offer of protection in return for their
fealty To the West an ancient Grail Chapel was discovered
and reports that the most wondrous and divine Lady of the
Lake showered her favour upon the nights of the Glorious
host abound! The Duc also continued his exploration of the
eight parallel but so far everything to the East of the new
barony of Gilgarran has proven to be barren and sparsely
inhabited with but a few small wretched hamlets or lonely
farms. mobilised his forces and began to expand his empire.
To the beating of drums and the fanfare of trumpets the
armies did march forth, one to the East, one to the North,
one to the south and one to the South west. As the advanced
they peacefully conquered three new counties. To the north
lies the new county of Crosby bordering the Lizardmens
realm.

The Throng of Karak Jhaz

To the South west the Dwai continued their rapid
expansion conquering numerous lands including a vibrant
and prosperous City a stout Keep and three large,
prosperous and verdant shires . Although we have so far
been unable to find out the new names of these dwarven
realms there can be no doubt that the King of Karak Jhaz is
becoming an increasingly wealthy and influential Lord
within the Lands of Rheged. His armies are roaming far
and wide and his realm is now one of the largest in the land.
Most interestingly has been the rapid and very direct march
of his third Host which has advanced right to the borders of
Tor Sarior and the Empire of Barrowstown. Meanwhile
his first host is making a direct path toward the Vile Chaos
wasteland. Could it be that the noble King Rik Grimli
Lunnsson (257) will be the first of the Lords of Light to
smite the hated invader? Could he be the true Hero that all of
Rheged has been hoping for? Or is he just another
Dwarven adventurer in search of Gold and precious gems
with which to line his pockets? We shall have to wait and
see.

The Glorious Hosts of Tor Sarior

The Noble Armies of Caer Curwen

Lord Caerluel, Duc de Rheged continued his rapid
expansion to the East liberating the Baronies of Tallentire
and Embleton and scouting across the River Ellen. To the
North he established the Citadel of Caer Blitterlees also

The Noble Elves of Tor Sarior continue to struggle in

this new land. So far their armies have found little in the
way of soul blade or even in the way of Habitation!

The Woes of Eden!

EDITORIAL.

By Katerina Ai Dee Field Correspondent

Dear Readers,
Please accept my most humble apologies for the
Chronicles failure to meet its last few monthly deadlines.
The entire team have been struck down by an extremely
painful and incapacitating plague of boils. Although it is
not yet known from whence this plague came suspicion
falls upon that foul conjuror Brynar the Corrupted and the
Chronicle places a reward to 10 golden crowns upon his
despicable head.
I can now confirm that the entire editorial team are hale
and well again and we shall endeavour to meet all of our
future deadlines.
Those of you more observant (and almost certainly our
dwarven readers!) will have noticed that the price of the
Chronicle has risen from 1d to 21/2d. This price rise is
due to the increasing difficulty in sourcing ink. At present
all of our ink is shipped in from the old world via Tilean
traders. With the troubles the price of ink has risen
sharply. We are actively pursuing alternative sources and
we think that there may be a source in the Eastern seas.
Anyone with a sizeable fishing fleet is requested to contact
the Editor at 34 Rue del a Mare, Caer Curwen.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE

Below I have acquired an account of each of the battles recently

fought within the old Empire of Eden. Unfortunately these are
both from the perspective of the victors as there were none of the
Vanquished left to interview. The chronicle takes no
responsibility for the language and opinions offered below.
The Sack of Lanercost
The engagement took place in a small hamlet on the edge of the
fife This is where the Lizardmen would make their last stand.
Two forests and a dilapidated fence stood nearby. Skink
Skirmishers deployed in a large three story building,
blowpipes aimed out of the ruined windows.
The pride of the Khorne Warband, a unit of Bloodcrushers led
by the Bloodlord himself, charged towards the building. Two
volleys of darts the Skinks achieved what was thought to be
impossible one of the monstrous creatures was brought down
the poison coursing through its veins as it collapsed to the
floor. The Blood Lord cared little, it mattered where the skulls
for Khorne came from.
The assault on the building proved to be difficult. The
Juggernauts of the Bloodcrushers, and the Daemonic Mount
of the Blood Lord, were too bulky to enter the building. Two
more volleys of blowpipe darts were fired upon the
Bloodcrushers, but none found the same weakness as before.
The blessed warriors of Khorne forced their way inside in a
frenzy of bloodshed, killing all of the Skinks within for the
glory of Khorne.
With the defenders butchered, the remaining Khorne warriors
spread out into the undefended lands attacking villages and
towns, taking a numerous slaves to be sacrificed to Khorne, so
that he may further bless the Blood Lord and his warband.
The Fall of Carwhinley
The battle was fought alongside the ruins of an old Dwarven
Brewhouse, which had a river running alongside it. In better
dys this area was well known for the Carwhinley Pale Ale
brewed bu Thorgim Tupstopper.
Brynar cared little. His mastery of the winds of magic
alongside his apprentice, Alvas, would prove to be the downfall
of the Lizardmen.

REWARD 10 GOLD CROWNS

The Rhegedian Chronicle 3

(cont from page 2)

(cont from Page 3)

Over the last three months they have expanded slowly

and now rule over two more verdant vales filled with
villages, farms and market towns. Again your intrepid
reporters from the Chronicle have been unable to find out
the new names of these lands but be rest assured we will
do so. Both of these vales are on the coast one to the
north of Ravenglass whilst the other is to the south east
of the Wizards tower in Ulpha Fell. The Elves in
Ulpha Fell had tried to take the Wizards tower by force
in Winniung but they had to withdraw after a humiliating
draw. Since then the Vile Grey Seer has been ousted by
a powerful Elven Seer (although no one knows who this
new seer is or what his/her motives are!) who has aided
the Elves by disclosing the size of the Dwarven Army
camped just outside of their borders.

Perhaps the winds of magic blew weakly here. Perhaps a ritual

the Lizardmen Chieftain has performed made shaping the winds
into the powers of disease and death more difficult. Magic
proved to be somewhat ineffective, even in the hands of someone
as talented as Brynar.

The Empire of Barrowstown

Hails of Javelins were thrown from the Skinks across the

river. Their aquatic skills were evident when they entered the
shining river and were blessed with speed beyond that granted
to mortals. Unwilling to risk his handpicked warriors in single
combat (Edit He is a Chaos Warlord right?) whilst fate was
blessing the Skinks and their Chief, Brynar and Alvas
continued their magical assault.
This nearly proved disastrous when, in his arrogance, Brynar
lost control of the winds of magic and obliterated two of his
warriors in a bursting flash of green pus. He too was
wounded, as was Alvas.

So far the Emperor Maximillian Von Wittelsbach III

(47) has done little to fortify or protect his realm. His
entire court seems to be in some turmoil and there are
now open protests in the streets which the Furness
Guard are putting down with increasing violence. How
long before the Empire is moved to action? With Chaos
to the North and the Elves and Dwarfs expanding in the
North East and West surely the Emperor will be forced
to mobilise his Troops or face civil war!

In the end, the battle was won by the followers of Nurgle, but
it nearly proved disastrous for Brynar. Perhaps he was not
quite as favoured as he first thought(Edit, not surprising if

The Crooked Nose Tribe

Following the battle, Brynar led his warband deep into the
heart of the now defenceless lands, enacting a ritual that covered
the land with disease and death, killing many in the name of
Nurgle. The land would recover in time, but the taint of the
Nurgle would be ever-present.

It would seem that Snazzgit Stunty Stompa (38 we

think) is too preoccupied these days with his literary
pursuits rather than the correct rule of his tribe. Already
we are hearing rumours of a powerful Black Orc
bigboss who has come to The Cald Beck and challenged
Snazzgit. How long before yet more challengers arrive
to force this corpulent Warboss to take action to secure
his borders. With the Bretons to the West and the Dwai
rapidly advancing in the East surely the Greenskins will
not sit idly by for long.

he keeps behaving like a coward!)

After the battle, it was found that a Marauder of the
Bjornlings had been mortally wounded by the poisoned javelins
of the Skinks. Brynar cared little for this marauder clearly
he was not blessed by Nurgle, as a mere poison had caused his
death.

Clan Skragskritt
A relative unknown here in Rheged many have claimed
that these rat-men are more than mere rumour and that
they have a small Empire in the south. If this is true
then surely it will not be long before this alleged
creatures of Chaos try to join up with their vile
counterparts to the North. Such a move could prove
disastrous for the expanding Kingdom of Karak Jhaz!
