- NRP membership has added benefits in helping grow your business.

PROJECTS TOMMY BUCKEL

-HWY 190 Beautification Project is one of the NRP’s main projects.


DISCUSSIO -Goal is to mow and maintain 2.85 stretch of HWY 190 at least 18 times a year.
N -Other goal is to enhance HWY 190, it is our business corridor.
-We are currently in the marketing stage of the plan; next step is to raise money.

CHAMBER NEWS CRAIG MARINELLO

-Sept. 29th NRP will be headlining the luncheon for the Chamber;
- We want a strong NRP showing at this meeting – please attend.
DISCUSSION -SBA has several seminars to help out small businesses. They meet the same Tuesday as
NRP in the mornings if interested.

REVIEW OF NRP CRAIG MARINELLO

-The NRP has been working with the Maritime Museum. Nathan Boudreaux and Craig
creating marketing plan, logo, and brochures for the Museum. ****We need writers to
help with this project. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of it!****
-The NRP meetings have been having great attendance – last month 45 in attendance, 23
this month
-We got our logo thanks to Nathan Boudreaux.
DISCUSSION
-We are looking to do another night time event, will let everyone know when it is
planned.
-We want everyone to get involved!
- Business EXPO – NRP Booth will have shirts for guys and girls - we still need volunteers,
a signup sheet was passed around.
Committee Reports

Community/ Events – Sally Hoffstadt


Discussion -Most of the speakers are lined up:
- Dr. Jay will speak next month – May 18th.
-Jackie and Nathan Young will speak in July about the upcoming Food Drive .
-Trying to schedule more socials.
- Looking to have a NRP only after hour’s event, need places, want to have a fun event with
families invited.
- Putting together a babysitting list to help out members.
- Next NRP Luncheon will be on May 18th.
-The NRP is heading up the Sept. 29th Chamber luncheon, we will present to the Chamber what we
have been working on and what we have accomplished.

Communications –
-The NRP is on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked in.
-If you have any ideas please email Lauren at coudrain@gmail.com .

Projects – Paul Myers


-Food drive will start up in July.
- United Way – does not give NRP enough exposure.
- Looking into Habitat for humanity.
- Junior achievement (Fontainebleau High) is coming back in the fall and we would like to continue
with this program. We find the students relate better to the younger volunteers.
-We are open to community projects and events where we can help, please email Paul at

Membership/ Recruiting – Kelly Pontiff


-If you are not currently a Chamber member, please become one! Being a Chamber member has a
lot of value in the long run.
-Please get involved in the business EXPO, signup sheet going around; please email Kelly @

-The logo is finished.


-Business EXPO is April 28th at the Castine Center, 11am- 6pm. The NRP’s will be sharing a big
Discussion booth with other Chamber groups.
-We are putting together shirts for these events.
-Next Meeting will be May 18th – Speaker will be Dr. Jay with the Maritime Museum.

Guest Speaker Tommy Buckel

HWY 190 Beautification Project is one of the NRP’s main projects.


- TEP grant of $500k has been awarded and will install 3 main planting beds along 190 :
Discussion North of Fairway exit, South of Fairway exit, Across from North park
- No irrigation, no maintenance included in the TEP grant.
-Goal is to mow and maintain 2.84 mile stretch of HWY 190 at least 18 times a year, along
with
Additional litter pickup, drainage improvements and irrigation installation.
-Other Goal is to enhance HWY 190, it is our business corridor –
-Increase Sign and Code enforcement, add sidewalks and lighting, possible skyways across
190
- A committee will be formed to begin initial stages of Fundraising, Parish coordination, Code
enforcement.
- Possibly invite tier 1 companies to a wine and cheese meeting to present project.
- Michelle Avery to meet with Candace Watkins and Mayor of Mandeville to enhance awareness.
- Will update as we move forward.
