OJ HOWARD AND THE RAMS COME

OUT FIRING AGAINST FALCONS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------A DELAIDE ,SA | The Parramatta Rams overcame an early
set back to win well against the Adelaide Falcons, 27-10.
American Tight End OJ Howard was the star with 9 catches
and 72 yards and capped off his MVP performance with 2
touchdowns.
"It was a great start today. The boys were very
committed and we pretty much did what we wanted to do"
said Howard after the game. "This is a great place to be. I
believe if we can keep this going it is only going to help
my chances with the upcoming NFL Draft".
Equally impressive was the defence of the Rams.
They were very Kurt Sorenson like with their discipline and
their reaction to the ball. They completed shut down the
Falcons and forced 4 interceptions. Added to that they
allowed just 40 yards rushing. "We worked hard for this.
Yes we were struggling during the -preseason but it all
came together today when we needed it" Sorenson said.
The Rams did have to get over a poor start. Ryan
Brown broke free from poor protection and then destroyed
a helpless Trent Cannon. Forcing the ball free Brown
recovered his own fumble and took it in for the 7-0 lead.
But this set back was short lived and two first half
touchdowns to Howard saw them go in with a 14-10
halftime lead.
The second half was all the Rams. They kept the
Falcons out of their Redzone and the Falcons only
converted 35% of third downs. Rookie kicker Jamil Hopoate
added 2 field goals and Ryan Wesley ran in a touchdown
to blow out the win.
