5 petri dishes of different diameters, metre rule, measuring


cylinder, water, stopwatch (if CV: time), thermometer (if CV:
temperature)
1. Set up apparatus as shown in diagram below.

2. Each of the 5 dishes is filled with 20 cm3 of water, and left


on the table for 30 minutes.
3. After 30 minutes, measure and record the volume of the
water in each petri dish by using measuring cylinder.
4. Calculate the rate of evaporation.
