PERTH DOMINATE HAPLESS FALCONS

--------------------------------------------------------------------Perth,WA | The Perth Cougars registered their first win of
the season with a dominant 31-14 win over the Adelaide
Falcons. Perth established a solid run game early and whilst
they never really pushed the boundaries of what they could
do, they never really had to with Adelaide struggling so
badly.
Tight End Kyle Carter ran a cut back to the middle
and Charlie Moore was on the money for the 12 yard
touchdown reception to get the scoring going. A quick
three and out from Adelaide was backed up by another
solid drive from the home side. Anthony Creighton running
in a short score against tiring defence.
The game was still in the balance at the half but a
failed onside kick by Adelaide gave the Cougars another
chance to extend the lead to 17-0. The Falcons were not
playing with any confidence and when Andrew Mano was
picked by Joel Gilbert, the score blew out to 24-0.
Scott Baitiri finally got Adelaide on the board late
in the third but Creighton claimed his second to ensure
there was no chance of any comeback. The final score
going to the embattled Quarterback Mano who scrambled
in a 7 pointer after he could not find anyone open in the
end zone.
John Simon was happy with his teams
performance and said he felt it coming after last weeks loss
to Sydney. "I thought we went Ok against Sydney. There
were times in that game we were a little caught in the
headlights but we did not let that effect us and we came
back strong here at home". Falcon Coach Mark Hohn must
now be having second thoughts about his comeback. "Its a
tough game alright but that is why I am here. This is the
challenge. Its why we coaches do this stuff. We will work it
out, still a long way to go".
