Coach Stan Drulia said
Thursday morning that
goaltender Larry Sterling
is feeling much better, but
his status for Friday nights
Game 5 against Fort Wayne
is still uncertain.
Hes day-to-day, Drulia
said. Well know more (Friday) morning.
The Icehawks are bringing in an emergency goaltender, just in case Sterling is not able to go. He was
shaken up in the middle of
the second period Wednesday night after teammate
Paul Cianfrini ran into him
behind the net. The extent,
or type of injury is not
known, as Drulia said he
didnt know if it was Sterling hitting his head on the
ice or Cianfrini and Komets
forward Colin Chaulk falling on him that led to the
injury.
If Sterling cannot start,
rookie Raffaelle Dorso will
get the nod. DOrso stopped
26 of 28 shots in relief of
Sterling in Wednesdays
Game 4 victory. ...

Last summer Iron Man

surprised me. I didnt want
to see it. I wasnt very
impressed with the trailer and I was too excited
for The Dark Knight to
have any room left for other superhero movies. But,
when the credits rolled, I,
along with a ton of other
people, were taken by surprise in the fact that Iron
Man was an amazing movie-going experience. The
film this sites filter forces me to call Kick-@$$ is
nothing like Iron Man; its a
completely different movie, but what they both had in
common was that they surprised the heck out of me.

You dont let a tree fall into

county made a big mistake
on this one. ...

WASHINGTON President
Barack Obama on Thursday
interviewed federal appeals
court Judge Sidney Thomas of Montana for an opening on the Supreme Court, a
person familiar with the conversation told The Associated Press.
The roughly hourlong session at the White House was
the first known formal interview Obama has conducted
for the coming vacancy on
the high court. It is not clear
whether Obama has interviewed other candidates in
person.
Vice President Joe Biden
also interviewed Thomas at
the White House in a separate meeting Thursday, said
the person familiar with the
conversations, who spoke
on condition of anonymity
in order to discuss Obamas
private deliberations.
The White House had no
comment.
A message left with Thomas chambers in Billings was
not immediately returned.
The personal time Obama
devoted to Thomas suggests the federal judge, well
respected within legal circles
but hardly a familiar name in
Washington, is under a higher level of consideration by
the president.
The San Francisco-based
appeals court on which he
serves has a liberal reputation, but lawyers who know
Thomas describe him as
independent and a straightshooter.
Obama is choosing a nominee to replace Justice John
Paul Stevens, who is retiring

McCauley plans to present the signatures to the Port

McCauley said the move

the city and would hurt his

would not have water and

Detroit police: 3 charged

with scamming seniors
The Associated Press
DETROIT Three people
whom Detroit police say are
members of a ring known as
the Golden Years Crew that
preyed on and scammed older people have been charged
with operating a criminal
enterprise.
Devon Page, Natalie Foster
and Viola West were held on
bonds of $2 million or more
after arraignments Thursday.
They also are charged with

conspiracy to commit identity theft, credit card fraud and

larceny in connection.
A prosecutors spokeswoman was not aware if the
women had lawyers.
Authorities say the charges
involve crimes against 15 people and as many as 80 senior
citizens may have been bilked
out of hundreds of thousands
of dollars. Police say the ring
impersonated social workers, nurses and medical
workers.
