Contract Artsworkers, project sub contractors

Hours of Work:

37 hrs per week (Full Time)

Salary:

/ R120,000/annum

Place of Work:

Volksblad Head Office, Bloemfontein SA

Term of contract: 12 months with potential to move to a four year contract


subject to funding and performance review
Context:
The Art and Health Initiative is a new programme linking art and health
in the Free State.
One aspect of the Art and Health Initiative is a partnership with the
Programme for Innovation in Artform Development (PIAD). PIAD was
developed by the Vrystaat Arts Festival and the University of the Free
State as an arts development programme focusing on how technology,
interdisciplinary and experimental arts can connect with and impact on
communities.
The Art and Health Initiative is a collaboration with DADAA Ltd.
(Disability in the Arts, Disadvantage in the Arts, Western Australia).
Position Statement:
You will work across the emerging Arts and Health market in the Free State
(and South Africa) leading key strategic responses to the cultural access and
development needs of local health population groups.

Develop sustainability measures for Arts and Health in Free State


and longer-term strategic Arts and Health projects.

Lead and support the Arts and Health Pilot and longer-term
projects, activity contractors and Artsworkers

In collaboration with the Partnership Group you will be responsible for


maximizing revenue from Government, Philanthropic Resource sector and
local NGOs to sustain existing programs and support the development of new
Arts and health business in Free- State, SA.
You will need to be a highly motivated individual, commanding the respect of
both stakeholders, clients, partners and colleagues, demonstrating strong
interpersonal and cultural management skills. You will be a strong team player
and a professional with an interest and experience in one or more of the Arts,
Health, partnership management and community cultural development
sectors.
Working relationships

Project Partnership Committee, involving DADAA LTD (AU) and University
of the Free State.
Project Teams
Strategic project partners and stakeholders
Income generation
Prepare draft budgets for Strategic Development projects as required.
Undertake project administration to ensure smooth running of the Arts and
Health Pilot and longer-term projects.
Engage in financial planning with the Project Partnership Group
Development
Work across the Project Partnership Group to ensure partners, relationships
and resources are secured for the delivery of agreed projects and services.
Identify potential sources of income for the development of services and
prepare with your teams, applications, tenders and requests.
Identify potential business opportunities for the development and delivery of
new Arts and Health projects and services.
Develop links and partnerships with leading Arts, Arts and Health and CACD
practitioners, organisations and companies.
Finance and Administration
Support the Project Partnership Group in developing financial sustainability
strategies for existing pilot activity and ongoing projects.

Secure additional financial resources for programmes, in partnership with the


Project Partnership Group.
Maintain oversight over Administration and compliance needs of the programs
and projects under your control.
Support the Project Partnership Group to scale up projects as required.
Develop funding strategies in Project Partnership Group.
Leadership
Lead and implement new initiatives when required.
Lead and manage any staff / Contractors assigned to the role.
Represent the Partnership as required.
Compliance and best practice
Liase with peers across the Project Partnership team to ensure that the
Partnership is working within legal and best practice guidelines.
Stay abreast of developments in client management and income
development, social enterprise, promote best practice and deliver training and
peer support in these areas where agreed.
Monitor outgoing reports and contract compliance needs.
General
Act as a contact point within the Project for stakeholders and the public and
act as a positive advocate for SA Arts and Health.
Continuously develop and maintain professional competences sufficient to the
delivery of the Projects business needs and in line with the development of
the sector.
Undertake any other appropriate duties, which may reasonably be allocated
from time to time.
Work at all times with the wording and spirit of the policies and procedures as
set out by the Project Partnership Group and SA Legislation .
