Dubai Satsang

In August 2015, our beloved Bhagawan blessed Dubai, United Arab Emirates by fulfilling the
wishes of His devotees and visiting again for the second time this year.
In accordance with the divine instructions, two programs were organized during the visit to
Dubai. The first took place on the 26th of August and consisted of a drama presentation:
'Transformation of the Heart' by the youth of Dubai, followed by talks by eminent devotees
and ending with the divine discourse. The second days program was on 27th August. After
bhajans, there were two speakers before Bhagawan gave His divine discourse.
This is a Booklet of divine discourses and excerpts from the speeches given by members of
Swamis entourage, including Mr. B. N. Narasimha Murthy, Mr. C. Sreenivas, Mr. Isaac Tigrett,

Divine Satsang 26th August, 2015

at

Aswani Residence

The afternoon satsang commenced at 4 pm at the Aswani residence with a Youth Meet.
Bhagawan was very lovingly welcomed by the Aswani family. Young Bhangra dancers led
the way for Swami and it was indeed a sight to witness the joy and excitement amidst these
young ones.

Drama: Hridaya Parivarthanam Transformation of the Heart

An

engaging

play

titled

'Hridaya

Parivarthanam', meaning Transformation

of the Heart was next on the agenda. It
vividly drove home the story of leading a
life in today's world yet looking within
learning from the stories of young Dhruva,
Emperor
Hanuman.

Excerpts from talk by Ms. Bhuvana Santhanam

At this very moment, all of us sitting here are the most
fortunate in this world, as the Lord of the universe is right here
with us. What more do we want brothers and sisters? We
have Bhagawan, the Lord who created everything and we
are so fortunate and have so much of gratitude at
Bhagawans Lotus feet.
We get so caught up in our day-to-day lives and tasks that
we simply forget that the Lord Himself is with us, guiding us
every single moment of our lives. So connecting with Him
internally is very important.
God is, brothers and sisters, right here with us. How fortunate
are we? How are we connecting ourselves internally when
we come here for satsang with Him?
Selfless love and selfless service these are the pair of footprints we need to follow,
internalise, and go through the transformation all the time having the awareness that Swami
is with us and can do anything and all that we need to do is connect with Him.

Excerpts from talk by Mr. B. N. Narasimha Murthy

Many times Bhagawan declared, My mission is not
building schools, colleges and hospitals. My mission is
not removing the sufferings or the anguish of my
devotees. That is part of the mission, no doubt. My
mission truly is transformation of the human heart, and
that is right now, right here. When I look into all of your
faces, dear children, transformation is here, right now.
Looking at my own life, as a boy of just 19 years I met
Swami more than half a century ago and He told me
two things. The first thing, You are worrying about
future. Your future is safe in My hands. The second He
said, See, boy I never asked you what is your name,
where have you come from, where are your parents,
what are you studying? You just do work and I will do
your work. These are the two things Swami told me in
the first interview way back in 1964.
Swami did not desert me even after He left the physical body. There were 75 days I
counted when my soul passed through the dark night from 11 April and 10 July, 2011. When
Swami came back to me in this beautiful form, He asked, Why are you crying? Where have
I gone? What happed to your faith? I am not a man. I am not this body. I am God! Why do
you forget that? How can I go away from you? My mission will continue.

Divine Discourse by Bhagawan Baba to Youth

Hridaya has two words: Hrid and Daya That which is filled with full of Daya or compassion
is Hridaya. Parivarthana has two words: Para and Varthana. Para as in the word
Parabrahma or Paramatma means divine. Varthana means behaviour. Only when we
behave in a divine way will there be transformation. Only when every act of yours is suffused
with compassion for the elders, thats when you will have transformation.
We all are compassionate towards ourselves, if our stomach grumbles we immediately go
and get some food. If our body feels weak, we put it to rest. We do everything because we
feel pity, we feel compassionate for the pain of our own self. But when we can feel the pain
of all who are around us and not only just feel our own pain, but through our actions try and
to whatever best possible extent reduce and remove the suffering and pain of others, thats
when there is full transformation.
Within the last few months since Swamis visit many of the elders took the lead to take the
children and the youth along with them for many of these seva projects. It is not that by
doing this seva we can transform or change the whole world. That is not the idea or the
purpose for which Swami asked you to do service. The purpose was to transform your own
self. When you serve others it is you who gets benefitted. When you help others, it is you who
gets helped. When you help, when you serve, when you care for others, you truly are
benefitting your own self, not just the others.
Therefore, why should we serve others, because you want to become better, you want to
become more divine. The whole journey is from I to We and then We to He. I is all about
myself, my family, my likes, my dislikes, my desires. We means when we start thinking of
others too. That is all we need to do.

Out of compassion and love for the others think of the others and do whatever is needed
for their best. Be rest assured that God is there to look after their needs.

When you serve, you become little more selfless, you become little more like Swami. By
continuously serving, eventually you fully transform into Swami. The longer piece of iron stays
with the magnet, the more it becomes like the magnet. So therefore dont just restrict your
seva to once in a way or fare when you go out together. Even wherever you are speaking
to your neighbour in a kind way, smiling and greeting the elders and respecting them. Being
kind and loving to younger ones. Being considerate and patient with the people of same
age. This is also seva.
Its not just about distribution of ration or food to the needy. In your own thought in every
word, in every act showing compassion is great seva. Even if you get any small opportunity
wherever you get keep doing it. Dont wait for one fine day, or one fine occasion to
undertake an activity in order to serve.
Every moment by speaking sweet words, thinking in a positive way, by being patient and
compassionate with others, you continue to serve me. I am in all so I am the one who
receives whatever you do, whatever you say or think.
Swami says one or two questions troubling the youth and children in their mind they want
to clarify, they may ask.

Question & Answer Session with Bhagawan Baba

Question: How do we reach out to a person who has closed himself to us? He is in need of
Your help and blessings. He is full of guilt, he does not speak out. We have tried in many
ways to reach out to him. Please show us the way Swami.
Swami: In the northern part of India, as the river Ganges flows, we find many rounded stones
in the bottom of the riverbed. We call them saligramas and we worship them. Many other
people carry them as a mark of Vishnu and worship them in their own homes.
Do you think these saligramas appear on their own? They dont! Because of continuous
pouring of water on them, all the rough edges are smoothened and they become round
or oval in shape. Then they are used as lingam, saligrama in the altar. That doesnt happen
over one day. Years together because of continuous flow of water over them, all the
roughness, all the sharpness, all the harshness is smoothened out and there are no more
worthless pieces of stone in the river bed. Now they become worthy as they represent
Divinity itself.
No human being can resist love. If some transformation is not happening, change is not
happening, you need to pour more love; you need to have more patience. At the end
never forget I am at the core of every being. I am love and when the love outside merges
with love inside, thats when the change happens. This hard heartedness, this hard
headedness, it is just the outer surface; it will melt away, the more water you pour on it, the
more it will melt.
If fire is small, it needs only a glass of water to put it off, if it is a big fire you need rainfall to
put it off. Likewise, if a person is taking more time to change, he needs more love from you
for a longer duration.

It is possible, at the end, the chaitanyam only, Divinity only, lies in everyone, the
consciousness is same. Therefore, it is not possible that one cannot be transformed.
These three magical mantras, with purity, patience and perseverance anything can be
achieved. If you are truly interested in the wellbeing of the person, never give up patience
and perseverance.

Question: Swami, You say that when you were in physical

form that body was also untruth and this Sookshma
Swaroopa is also untruth. But having worldly desires, like
Your knowing my name and always being getting close to
You, getting more and more attached to You, is also a form
of Godly desire. Is it wrong, Swami?
Swami: For a man or woman constantly living in this world
surrounded by people and lot of activities, its impossible to
become totally desire less. After all if you feel hungry and
your body requires food, to go and eat your food is also a
kind of desire. It is not a wrong desire.
Better than desiring love and affection from worldly people you are getting used to desiring
the same from God. That is better than before. Ultimately, to feel that everyone is God and
so instead of wanting love, you want to give love to others, that is the highest desire, then
you become like God.
At the first step you want love from others, second step, you want love from God, third step
you want to give love to others. That way the lower desire is replaced by higher desire,
know for sure, it is your only desire give love to others; until then you have not yet reached
the highest state of desirelessness.
If you have to reach from here to third house, you have to cross second house. Likewise,
from just expecting love and affection from worldly temporary people expect it from God.
In the movie where they showed Dhruva who wanted the affection of his father, it was
temporary desire. But if he did not get it from father he asked from God. Today what does
Dhruva do? Like a star in the sky, nakshatra, he guides the people to their destination. He is
now no more expecting but he is there to give. That is the highest. If there is nothing wrong
then dont limit yourself, dont tie joys and sorrows. It is limited desires. The greatest joy
comes to you when you try giving love to others.

Question: Swami, for every creation there is a creator. For a God to be considered as a
creator who created God? What is the magnanimity of the power with which God insisted
to create His creation? Who created God?
Swami: The one who created you is God; the one who created God is you. A mother is not
a mother unless there is a child. A child is not a child unless there is a mother. Therefore, a
mother creates a child and child creates a mother. This is the connection with the creation
and creator.

There is nothing but an all-pervasive consciousness, which took a shape in order to become
seen and available to many. It just separated itself from itself. If we have a huge piece of
sugar candy and break it into 10 pieces, each of them would change in quantity but quality
would remain the same. Therefore, you are not created; you are only separated from what
already existed. You are not new or different from what already existed.
Different truth, there is actually no creation. God decided to separate Himself, He only
created an entity or separated Himself into an entity.
In truth, God always was, is and always will be. However, He cannot be created or
destroyed. It is th perception of God of being separate and you being separate make you
believe that there is creation and there is destruction. It is and God was and will always be.
You are just separated and then once you merge back then there is no difference knowing.
Understood?
We all exist like air. Nobody creates or destroys the air; it just exists. The air inside this room
may look different from the air outside. But it does not mean this air has been created from
that air. This air is separate from that air. When rooms go all air becomes one.
Likewise you are not created, you are only separated from the original true Divine Self. Like
this space gets separated by the wall. Wall disappears, the space is the same. Because of
the wall, we call it drawing room, kitchen, dining room, things like that. Like that because
of these bodies we call ourselves boy, girl, old man, old women, young man young women.
The moment this wall disappears space is same.
The water inside the pot, when we take it out from the river, the water in river and the pot
is the same water. Water in the pot and the glass is the same water. You didnt create more
water. You only separated it. It always existed. Therefore, glass of water has come from the
pot, which has come from the river. All the water is the same. Quantity is different, quality is
same.

Question: We have to face the result of our past karma in this world. Then what about doing
ones duty, when we are already reaping previous births karma? Can man ever distinguish
which is his past and which his present karma? Cannot Swamis will transform anything or
wipe out all the past karma? How does all this operate, Swami?
Swami: The basic fundamental issue is that for every action, there is a reaction,
commensurate to the kind of action. A good action will bring a good or favourable
reaction. An action which is not so good will only bring an unfavourable reaction. Some
actions have an immediate reaction. Some actions have delayed reactions. Some actions
have much more delayed reactions.
If you hit the floor, the floor hits you, will receive an immediate reaction. If you eat food now,
it will digest and give energy in some time. If you sow a seed, it will grow into a tree. That is
further delayed reaction. All our actions have a reaction.
In your first class in school, you study abcd or 1234. These are the basics. If in that class you
have studied well, in the second standard when you pass, you will be taught how to form
words, how to add and subtract.

If you havent done your first class well, obviously second class will become tougher. If you
dont do your second-class well, your third class multiplication, division, formation of
sentences will become further more complicated. If, in the third standard you are not able
form sentences or add and subtract, it means you have not done your job well in the
second standard.
Whether you remember or not, your current
situation is proof of what you have done in
the past. Do not bother what you should
have done in the past. Once the time is
gone, you can never reverse it. What is in
your hand today is important. Instead of
brooding over the past and worrying when
or how you made a mistake, know that you
have somehow made your mistake. Now
its time you can correct it. By working
harder you can become better. Dont
waste your time trying to remember, when
you did it or why you are suffering because
of that.
Know for sure because the world is bound by action-reaction. Reactions are the results of
some action done at some point in time. Whether we remember or not is immaterial. What
is important is what you are doing with the present. Are you doing anything so that you
dont get in similar situations in a later stage and again regret having lost this precious
present, which is omnipresent?
Therefore, as youth, as young people, its all the more important that this time in your hands
is used correctly. How to use this time correctly? Follow the heart. The heart will never lie to
you, misguide you, or mislead you. Whether you like it or not, like a good friend, it will always
tell things for your own good, not simply to please you. Mind is a bad friend. It tells things to
please you, but it doesnt care about your higher good. Heart may displease you now, but
if you follow it, you will be better in the long term. Therefore, all should follow the state of
their heart and not simply listen to the insecure mind. You will always be doing the right
thing and always be getting favourable results.
No pain is unbearable; remember its your action which brought you this. Where does Gods
role come? God like a doctor He diagnoses your pain and knows that you have
overeaten, therefore, you are suffering. Then He tells you to fast for some time and take a
few medicines, that way your pain will subside. If you follow the doctors prescription, diet
plan as well as medicine, then obviously your pain will subside. But most of the time we
dont want to follow the doctors plan. That is why we continue to suffer more. God, the
Divine Doctor, cannot remove your pain; He can only help you only to remove your own
pain. Its said in the Bhagawad-Gita, you alone can redeem yourselves, you alone are the
cause of your own bondage, you alone are your friend, you alone are your enemy. Nobody
else can do anything about it. Gods grace and love are like anaesthesia which help you
cross over that situation. If you follow this advice of love, of being kind, eventually all the
pains will disappear from the roots.

Question: Swami, you say the mind is a drunken monkey. Whenever I try to focus on my
studies, my mind is not in one place; it starts roaming around somewhere else. How to focus
on my studies? If I am focusing on some project, even if a single mistake happens, I become
fed up and depressed. How to focus on something youre doing?
Swami: Do you know that the moment you were born you didnt start walking running or
worse dancing like you did now. You learnt it over a period of time. You took some steps.
Ask your mother you fell down again got up with some support again tried to walk again
fell down again took some support and walked. Over the years, you mastered the art of
walking, mastered of talking, writing, reading, singing everything took time. If you would
have given up as a child the willingness to walk, then today people had to carry you
around. If you had given up the desire to talk, would you have been able to do whatever
drama you did today? Because you persisted you could attain it. You didnt give up half
way through.
Likewise, when the mind troubles you, its mainly because it doesnt know the value of what
you are doing. You are studying and it is going elsewhere it because the mind does not
know the value of studies. If you develop interest in studies, because you know its value,
you will definitely be able to focus your mind in such times. Tell your mind in such times, if I
am not focusing now, tomorrow I will have to suffer. I would rather work hard and focus it
now than suffer tomorrow. If it is a very difficult situation, just get up and leave the place.
Go around, drink a glass of water or read a book and when your mind again become calm,
come back and focus back on the studies. But giving up and running away thinking mind
is not under your control will never allow you to attain anything.
When you want to play a computer game your mind is focused. When you want play
outside, your mind is focused. While eating, your mind is focused. In all these activities, your
mind is focused because you like all these. You like all these because you think you derive
joy out of them, but if you tell the mind that the highest joy is to do your duty well, that is
what is your role is, you will be able to bring your mind to focus on it. Focus on it and do not
give up half way. It is not right.
Now that we have become such a good group of youngsters, you should meet once in a
while, discuss your practical issues and share with each other. Once in a while invite an
elder to talk to you and clarify all these issues. Dont simply keep doubts in your minds. They
are the foundation. If the foundation is weak the building cannot be tall. All these Dubai
buildings, you are only seeing what is above the earth. You dont know what is below the
earth. As tall it is above, so deep it is below, too. Only then will it withstand the pressures.
Likewise, these are foundation years of your lives. Make your foundation strong. Dont leave
gaps. Dont leave doubts, otherwise you cannot build a tall building of your life with these
foundations. Clarify as and when it comes. If it is very difficult, just close your eyes, pray to
Me and I will send the answer to you some way or the other. Dont just say it is okay to have
a doubt, I will see later. That is not the right attitude. You should be clear now.
(The session ended with Mangala Arathi followed by lunch.)

26th August, 2015 - Evening Satsang

Excerpts from talk by Mr. C. Sreenivas
The moment you ask yourself the why to life, you are
beginning on your journey in life to a miracle. The
why to life: Why do I live? Why do I do a certain
thing? The moment this question comes to you, the
answering of how is childs play. Because the
question that will confront you is so supreme, so
profound, that it is from thereon that the power of
earth, the power of Swami, and the power of the
universe will begin to act through you. These are
incredible moments. Do not make the mistake of even
remotely trivializing this, because it is a moment
genuinely beyond comprehension and let it be so.
At this point in time, your bodies are instruments and
chosen to be His bodies in operation. It is not a small
thing in your life. Rarely in human history ever, has the
Divine, so profoundly and so powerfully proclaimed
that your body is now His body. That He has no body
to act and work but He has all your bodies, which are
His very own. It is not a small thing. Every day begin
with your eyes open, the power of that body; the word
miracle will become so easily imagined.
Pray to Him that this thought and this grace that He wishes to confer on us, that our bodies,
however infirm, however incapable they might be, may there be in every cell of our beings.
Feel Him, live Him! Work for Him! And eventually merge in Him. This is the strength that you
are going to feel! Sai Ram!

Excerpts from talk by Mr. B.N. Narasimha Murthy

Jesus Christ asked 2,000 years ago, "What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole
world and loses his own soul?" So what is more important is the mission and the task that has
been entrusted to you, because you have been following in Swamis footsteps very
correctly. We came with Swami here this January, earlier this year. The few things that
Swami told you all, you have been following very religiously. Therefore, you have the
potential. But where does that potential come from? The potential is not to do external
work. External work is definitely required because it is an expression of love and compassion
in our hearts. But what is more important is the work we do inside.

Krishna said there are four

categories of very fortunate
people. He calls all of them
sukrithanaha, meaning fortunate.
Anybody who comes to Him for
anything is fortunate.
The first category is the Aarta, the
one who goes to God for relief from
some kind of suffering, which we
cannot find a solution for in this
world.
The second is Artharthi, the one
who prays for more wealth, profits
in their business, promotions in their
career, or more name, more fame
for worldly things.
The third is Jijnasu, who has
realized that whatever we achieve
in the world ultimately is of no use.
In this life we have a lot of money
and built mansions! When we
leave this world we become
paupers again. Thats why in the
next life we have to start from zero
again. Then what is the use of
asking for all this?
Therefore, the jijnasu or the spiritual aspirant prays to God, "Swami, by Your grace, I have
found that all that we achieve in this world is of no use. It is not going to give me permanent
joy. All that I get from this world is temporary pleasure. Help me to realize You in my heart,
so that I may put an end to all my suffering and sorrows, which come with ignorance of
identification with the body-mind complex. As long as I think, I am the body there is no end
to my suffering.
The fourth category is the Jnani who has realized that he and God are one. He is with God
all the time. His mind is absorbed in God all the time because that is the only thing worth
doing.
Therefore, our potential increases as we get promoted from one category to another
category. Aarti and Artharthi, the first two categories are like primary school, but how long
are we going to stay in primary school? We have to rise higher because Swami has been
teaching us that life in this world is temporary.

Divine Discourse by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Patram pushpam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati,
Tad aham bhakti upahritam ashnami prayatatmanah
Whatever is offered to Me with love, and devotion; whether it is a leaf, a flower, a fruit or a
drop of water, I accept it with love.
Embodiments of divine love, devotees and children! God will always stretch His hand to
give and never to take, because everything in this universe belongs to Him. There is nothing
that He lacks at any point of time. The body, mind, senses, and your life are not things which
you have earned for yourselves, they are given to you as gifts from Swami. It is not because
of you that inhalation and exhalation takes place in your body; it is not because of you that
the digestion takes place in your body. So many of you are sitting here. It is not that any of
you can earn this life for yourself.
Embodiments of divine love, devotees and children! God will always stretch His hand to
give and never to take, because everything in this universe belongs to Him. There is nothing
He lacks at any point of time. The body, mind, senses, and your life are not things which you
have earned for yourselves, they are given to you as gifts from Swami. It is not because of
you that inhalation and exhalation takes place in your body; it is not because of you that
the digestion takes place in your body. So many of you are sitting here. It is not that any of
you can earn this life for yourself.
Your heart is beating all the time. It never stops. Whether the heart should continue to
function or stop is not in your hands. All this is functioning because of the energy and
consciousness of God. Only when this physical activity takes place in your body by Gods
power, are you able to do what you want to do. If for one moment the heart stops
functioning, all your actions, all your activities will immediately stop.
When ego and attachment attack you, you have to think, "All this is given to me by God.
Nothing is mine." Just as a father gives a birthday gift to his son and will never take it back,
God also, once He has given this life to you, will not take it back. A father will purchase a
gift with his money. He has earned the money, he has purchased the gift and given it to his
son who has come from him; once he has given the gift to him, he will not ask for it back.
Similarly, I give you a body, senses, and life with the intention that you will put it to good use.
I dont intend to it back. But when you yourself come and offer it with a sense of surrender,
only then will I accept it.
Patra or leaf means, the body. Pushpa or flower is the flower of the heart. Phala or fruit is
the fruit of our actions. Thoya or water means, the tears of joy you shed with devotion.
Actually, a leaf, flower or fruit are all temporary things. When you offer your life on your own,
back to God, that is true devotion. When ego raises its hood, you have to remind yourself
again and again, This life is given to me by God. Its not mine. It belongs to God, and get
rid of the ego. Only then can you find true fulfilment in life.
"Whatever you do, whatever you keep, whatever you eat, whatever you give in gift,
whatever you see, O son of Kunti, do all that and offer it to Me for My sake," said Krishna to
Arjuna.

Spirituality is not so complicated as to do a lot of penance, meditation and earn merit.

Whatever you think, feel, say and do, when you offer it for the love of God, all that becomes
spiritual. When you offer to God something, naturally you will offer the best.
When I came to Dubai this morning, they did not prepare the food generally eaten here.
They prepared Indian food and offered it to Me. The food was very tasty and very
refreshing. I cant describe it! They put in all efforts with the feeling that what we offer to
Swami should be the best and worked for it.
However, giving Swami the best food alone is not sufficient. Only when you offer your best
thought, best feeling and best action to God, He receives it with joy. To offer our bad
thoughts, bad feelings and bad actions is not the right offering at all. When you lead your
life with the desire that all your life you want to offer to God, you will always see that your
thoughts, actions, and feelings are always sacred and pure. Therefore, it is very essential,
every day, whenever you do, offer it to Him with prayer. Only when we do that can we
escape from the fruits of our actions, the consequences of our actions and attain bliss.
Just as a postman picks up a posted
envelope, looks at the address and sends it
to the person to whom it is addressed, the
consequences of your actions also reach
you. O man, is it possible to cross over the law
of karma, of action and reaction? You may
study all the scriptures in the world, adore
your family deities, go into the forest and
undertake very severe penance, but is it
possible to escape the consequences of
ones actions? Whatever penance, japa or
meditation you do, you cannot escape the
consequences of your actions. But, if you
write the address of God on all your actions,
the consequences will not come to you, they
will go to God. If you can practice only these
two things, you can lead your life in great joy
and bliss: Offer every action for the love of
God, and give up desire for the rewards of
your actions.
You may be a businessman. It is necessary to
very cleverly and with subtle thinking do your
business. It is also necessary to do your
business as per the law of the land. It is
necessary to earn some profit. When you do
your business thinking, "This business is Gods
gift to me. I am giving it back to God," then
that makes the business spiritual. Whatever
you do, do it for God it becomes spiritual.

Spirituality is not studying scriptures, going on pilgrimages, going into the forest and doing
penance. When you offer with love all your actions to God and also give up the desire for
the rewards of the action, then it becomes spiritual.
I have been saying the same thing that I have told you earlier, but I am only a teacher. You
are students. Subject and syllabus are the same. As long as you dont study well and pass
and go to the next class, I have to keep teaching you the same syllabus. You may think
Swami has been telling you the same thing as He has been saying before, but as long as
you continue in the same class, because you dont study properly and go to the next class,
you have to listen to Me. You come into the classroom, sit well, listen well and also pretend
as if you understand everything, but once you go out of the class, you forget. The second
day, again you come to the class. Aside from what you learn in the classroom, after going
home, you have to do some homework.
Only by practice and detachment can you control your mind. Once you have to cultivate
detachment, you are very much afraid. "If I lose this how will I be able to live?" Thats how
you fear. On the one side you keep saying, "God is giving everything. He is looking after
everything. On the other side, you fear, "If I lose all, what will happen to me?" How will you
lose anything? If God wants to give anything, He will definitely give you. Nobody can stop
that. Similarly, if God wants to take it back, nobody can stop Him. Therefore, learn to live
with courage, giving up fear, and developing faith.
In Dubai, all the people have built big mansions, living a good life, thinking they are very
happy. That is not real bliss. All that is imagination; that is not the truth. They may have the
best of the beds, but they wont get sleep. They might have achieved big name and fame,
but in the families there is total confusion. They may earn lot, put it in the bank, and deposit
even crores of money, but they are always living in fear that they may lose it. They purchase
very expensive medicines but they never get any good health because they are
dependant only on external things; they are forgetting the internal.
When you know what is there inside you, then nothing outside you can instil fear. Everything
is complete. That is complete. This is complete. Everything is complete. The bliss that is within
us is the perfect bliss. That is the permanent bliss. All the pleasures and happiness we get
from outside, is always changing and is always temporary. If you want to attain permanent
bliss, you have to love everybody and serve everybody. Whatever you do, you should do
it for Gods sake. Even after doing your activity you have to offer the results of your actions
to God. Just do these two things, and your life will be filled with bliss and you will be able to
give joy and bliss to others also.
You cannot achieve everything in one day. Only by gradual practice can you achieve
anything. What elders do children will also follow. Looking at children, their friends, other
children will also learn. When the children enacted the drama here, they learnt from their
parents and manifested the same things here. When parents are good, children will be
good. Parents and teachers, both should be good.
In order to train parents and teachers I am starting a new programme, Guruvikas, to teach
them to train the children how to be good. If we set right one student, that one student will
become good. If we set right one teacher, through that teacher, many students will gain.

All of you get together and discuss in deep thought how you can start value-based
education in the schools in Dubai.
Children here learn only materialistic education; they dont learn paravidya or spiritual
education. When we learn both material and spiritual education, then we attain the right
balance. Therefore, elders have to get together and discuss how we can give spiritual
education to children along with material education.
I am very happy with all the service activities you are undertaking. You should not get into
arguments about whether Swami is here or there, but do what Swami tells you; that will be
a great service to everyone. Swami is there in every one. Whomever you serve, you are
serving only Swami. Whether it is a Hindu, a Muslim or a Christian, you should think and feel
that Swami is there in everyone and love and serve everyone. When you have Swamis
darshan in every one, finally you will be able to have darshan within yourself. When your
mind becomes pure and peaceful, you can see God within yourself in the lake of your
mind.
I am playing this drama because if one man can achieve it then everybody can. With your
efforts and My grace, you can achieve anything and everything. My blessing and grace is
there on all of you in bounteous quantity. When you do service, even others' hearts will get
transformed. Do not limit yourself to any organization or institution; wherever you get
opportunity to do service, you should do service. If you have any questions you can ask.
How many students are here? They should lead the whole thing first. They have learnt so
much from Swami. They should take the initiative both on the girls' and the boys' side. Whom
does the father ask to look after his business? He will tell his own children first whom He has
trained so very carefully. Therefore, its the first and foremost duty of all Swamis students
here to take up service activities and lead them from the front. Dont follow from behind.
Lead from the front. If all of you will work together, you will first get transformed, you will feel
the joy and bliss within.
Dont worry about what is happening to the others. First worry about what is happening to
yourself. If you are becoming purer, calmer, and kinder that is all I want to achieve. My
mission is not to build big institutions and buildings. My mission is only to see to that every
individual is transformed, becomes full of love and compassion and is fearless, selfless. That
is all I want to achieve. Rest is secondary and will happen on its own if this is taking place.
Happy for you. Good set of students. They dont ask any questions (laughter). Tomorrow
when the exams are there let Me see how many pass (laughter). Ill keep sending tests and
exams every now and then. As a teacher it is My duty to keep checking My students' quality.
Therefore, be quality students. I dont want quantity. Be quality. So shall we close the
programme for today. Sing a bhajan.

(Bhajan singing continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi followed by prasad.)

Divine Satsang 27th August, 2015

at Gupta Residence
Divine Discourse (Pre-Lunch Session for Sai Hridayam Group)
Sreenivas came to Swami as a young college boy. During those days, there was no college
set up by Swami. So he had to go to Bangalore University and get his degree. We did not
have a university; we only had a small college of Arts & Science in Brindavan. Even in those
days, he worked very hard and secured first rank in the University of Bangalore. He was
much appreciated by the vice chancellor there. He could have chosen to use all his
abilities, knowledge & skills to achieve anything in life. But, even as a young boy, he had
decided to stay with Swami. Nonetheless, he had such good parents. His father was
commissioner of police and mother was a doctor. In those days also, they had allowed him
to live with Swami and do whatever was directed/asked by Swami. His entire life, he has
spent with Swami and continues to do so.

What you achieve in this world is all temporary. The wealth, the name, the fame, friends,
relations - all of them will go once the body is gone. What remains with you forever is the
good name that you have created for yourselves, is the good work that you have done, it
is the people whom you have helped, that is how you are remembered forever.

Today is also very significant because the Onam Festival is being celebrated. It is again the
story of a devotee and the Lord. A devotee who had decided to give everything when the
Lord asked for it.
Bali Chakravarthy was a great king. He ruled over this entire earth and the skies. When the
lord decided to show his devotion to the rest of the world, and asked him for three steps of
land, he immediately agreed. In one step, the little Vamana covered the earth. In one step,
he covered the skies and in the third step, he did not know where to put. Lord Bali
Chakravarthy offered his own head and then he was sent down to the netherworld where
he became the king and he ruled there.
His own guru, Shukracharya told him, Dont be too willing to give up anything for this little
brahmin boy, he is not a brahmin boy, he is lord Vishnu himself, and he has come to ask
everything from you and take away everything from you." Then emperor Bali told his own
guru, "What kind of guru are you? Gurus duty is to take one towards God. You are asking
me to go away from God? Even if I had to give up everything including myself, what greater
fortune can I have? The Lord whom we ask for everything has come here to ask me for
something. What greater good fortune can I have? When the Lord asks, I should be able to
give," and thats how he offered himself.
So many kings and queens have ruled this earth. The books of history are full of their names,
mostly for the wrong reasons but our Puranas still remember Emperor Bali whenever there is
mention of Lord Maha Vishnus Avatars. Until today, we remember him for his devotion, the
love he had for the Lord, that he offered everything including himself and become eternal
like the name of the Lord.
Yesterday, we saw the story of Dhruva, a little boy who decided not to hanker after the
love of the world, not to seek the love of the worldly, but to seek the feet of the Divine, the
Divine parent father and mother that Narayana is. The five year old Dhruva undertook
penance in order to gain the grace of the Lord himself and ultimately became a star in the
sky and still guides many on to right path both on the earth and beyond.
Those who are ever remembered, those who become immortal, are truly the only people
who have led lives of sacrifice, who have always thought there is nothing greater than
being of any service to the Lord Himself. God is complete by Himself, He does not need
anything. It is only for the sake of making you immortal and making you understand the
Divinity, that He creates such opportunities.
In 40 years that Sreenivas spent with Me, he never felt as pure as he feels now. When he
sees those children being treated, being saved, when he sees the joy in the faces of the
childrens mothers, that truly makes him realize the oneness of this entire creation. That
makes him understand, what Swamis heart is like; how Swami feels the pain and sufferings
of all. When Sreenivas said the hospital would not be ready by the time we
thought/expected, because Raipur is a small town and not a city like Bengaluru, and there
is an issue with everything, I told him, "Whatever it takes, you must start on a given date. If it
was your child, would you not want the operation to happen to save the child? Think that
way for every child. Every child that is not getting educated upon may lose his sight in life.
Every child who is not being operated may lose his life. All are My children and I feel equally
for all of them. That is how we can expand our love.

Before marriage, you are alone. You only think about yourself. After marriage, your love
expands. You also worry whether your wife had food, whether she took rest, whether she
sleeping well. When you have children, you also will start thinking about their welfare,
childrens friends, then their relations. This is how love expands. Expansion of love is the way
of life.
However, this expansion should not just get limited to
only your blood relations Raktha Sambandham it
should go beyond that as Atma Sambandham
relation of the spirit. The whole creation is one.
Therefore, everyone's joy is your joy. Everyones
suffering is your suffering. If one can cry in others' pain
and laugh in others' joys, then you are truly
becoming like Me. Therefore, try and live every
moment of your life, try and do whatever you do in
such a way that it is worth being emulated and
being remembered by generations of human
beings.
I said this morning that the greatest thing you can do is to become an example to others.
Be remembered forever for what you have done when the opportunity was given to you
and be a guiding light to others for times to come. For they can take lessons from your lives
and can know that such a person existed and who did such a thing. If he could do it, we
can do it better. That is how you inspire with your acts and become immortal.
The
Vedas
declare,
"Na
karmana
na
prajaya
dhanena
thyagenaike
amrutattwamanashuh," not by worldly actions, nor by progeny, nor by wealth, does one
become immortal. Its only through actions, service and sacrifices that one becomes
immortal.
What better message can I give on this auspicious Onam day, which is the testimony of the
love of the devotee for the Lord? Through the love that manifested as sacrifice, more than
the Lord, the devotee became immortal. Even today, the people of Kerala believe their
King Bali comes back to them, to inspire them, to continue to be in service of the Lord who
manifests in all creation. Therefore, by serving all they can serve Lord, just like their king did.
These are not mere stories, but they have deep significance and inner meaning. We must
derive inspiration and try and emulate as much as we can in our own lives. That is the whole
purpose of this birth, the great gift given by God.
I know what you can become. You may not know. Therefore, I train you to truly become
what you ought to be. Aim high, dont have a low aim. If you aim high, you will be able to
reach. Aim to be Divine. Be courageous to do whatever it takes to ultimately attain the
purpose for which you were born. Do not compromise and settle for anything lesser than
Divine. This is My message to this group of people. Work together, walk together, and merge
together.
Evening we will meet for satsang. You all have prasadam, take rest and we will meet again.
Is there anything specific you all want to know from Swami? I will tell.

So many children Swami saw this morning; they all were saying, "Swami, please use me as
instrument in Your mission. Please make me a servant in Your mission." That gave Me so
much of joy because as Creator, I feel so hopeful when I hear such words from little children.
I know that their parents are doing the right thing by telling them the right things. They want
to be doctors, engineers, accountants not because they want to make big wealth of it, but
so that they can serve in Swamis mission. If the parents lead the right kind of life, the children
will follow.
Einstein was a great scientist but with little common sense. He had a cat and he would let
the cat inside his lab while he was working. He was very fond of it. The cat would come and
scratch on the door to get inside for it did not know how to ring the bell. Einstein would open
the door and let the cat in. The cat being the cat couldn't stay in one place for too long.
Again when it wanted to go outside, it would scratch the door. Einstein would again getup
from his experiments, open the door and let the cat out. This was disturbing him so he
decided to make a small hole in the door so that the cat could come in and go out.
After sometime, the cat gave birth to kittens and these kittens would follow wherever the
cat went. Now Einstein thought, there are three kittens, I should make three more holes in
the door. He started making holes and his wife came and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Mother cat is coming; poor kittens also have to come so I am making holes for them." His
wife said, "You are such a great scientist, but you have no common sense, all bookish
knowledge, no general knowledge no practical knowledge. If the cat comes, the kittens
will follow. They need only one hole, they dont need four holes. Tomorrow if the cat gives
birth to few more kittens, there would be only holes in the door." Then he realized, as the
cat went, the kittens would follow.
The lesson is - as the parents do, the children will follow. If parents do the right thing, the
children will do the right thing. If parents do the wrong thing, the children will also do the
wrong thing. Tomorrow, you cant blame what the children would become. You have to
only blame yourself for this.
Therefore, 'Follow the Master, Face the devil, Fight till the end and Finish the game.' Follow
the Master. We will come back in the afternoon for more talk and discussion.
Next year, in January, Swami is going to come back. This is only going to grow and grow.
Those people who have some purity in their hearts and, who are less selfish will be able to
understand. Even if the sweetest things are served for a person suffering with fever, one
whose tongue is bitter cannot taste the sweet. Therefore, one who is free of this selfishness,
free of these attachments will be able to appreciate Divinity. For others, Divinity will only
appear as a bitter pill. They wont see beyond that.
Very happy. Have your lunch.

(The session ended with Mangala Arathi followed by lunch.)

27th August, 2015 Evening Satsang

Excerpts from talk by Mr. Isaac Tigrett
There is nothing more exciting in life than being in
a place that raises your consciousness and gives
you insight. I am so glad to travel with Sai Baba these
last two years and one of the greatest blessings is
these two gentlemen Sri Narasimha Murthy and Sri.
C. Sreenivas. They inspire me every time they speak.
It is absolutely extraordinary to travel with these two
great souls! We are the lucky ones, to speak of these
things, to speak to Him, to be with you all; it means
that weve been given the privilege. We have been
inspired by Him allowing us to visit you and to share
the great moments with His beloved devotees.
I hope to be a student till my last breath. Ive been
learning from Him, from His creation, from this young
girl who plays the cymbals and by that young man
who said all of us are one family. Swami takes care
of the weak ones, not to judge them. We live in a
crazy and selfish world. We all want to be important.
We all wish to be better than others. We need to
develop kindness and be able to see Swami in all.
Last night as I was going through the Uvacha series, I was inspired and I thanked Swami.
Swami said, Don't say thank you; be grateful. Some might wonder why Swami chose me
for his work; I too often wonder and have this same doubt. I once asked Swami, Why are
you using me for all Your work? Swami said, Because you are convenient and obedient!
So, I thought if I wasnt obedient, he might have as well chosen somebody else!

Excerpts from talk by Mr. B. N. Narasimha Murthy

What Baba is doing today is preparing the world for the advent of the Prema Sai. On the
1st of August, 2015, after Guru Purnima, which was on 31st July, Swami called a few elders
(trustees) of the Alike and Muddenahalli institutions. Swami told us, See, youve to change
your attitude and outlook. Why? Till now, Muddenahalli campus or Alike was only an
educational campus with schools, colleges and campuses. Now it has become an
ashram. Swami made it very clear that He is preparing the ashram for Prema Sai. He asked
a question, I am building an auditorium that can accommodate 5000 people. It is not
required for Me. Who is it for? It is for Prema Sai that I am building this.

We prayed to Swami when the construction started, Swami, what shall we name this hall?
Swami said, Call it Premamrutham because it is for Prema Sai.
He is preparing the world, by visiting different countries, which He had earlier promised. On
Maha Shivarathri day in 2011, Swami had announced that He would soon be going around
the world, visiting every country. That is what Bhagawan has been doing in His subtle form.
He has been going around, visiting every country.
Devotees abroad, outside India, have to be more grateful because it is for their benefit
that Bhagawan is going around the world visiting different countries. He has already visited
five continents Asia, Australia, North America, Africa, and Europe. He is setting up ashrams
everywhere. He is preparing Muddenahalli, the state of Karnataka, the country of India and
the whole world for the advent of Prema Sai.

On 1st August, Bhagawan made a very powerful statement, Prema Sai is an Avatar so
very powerful that anyone with any turmoil in his heart or mind will immediately get peace
of mind just by having His darshan. Therefore, the whole world will rush to have the darshan
of Prema Sai. He also said, Prema Sai is already born.
Now, only prasava has happened, the boy has been born. Pravesha will happen when He
is 11 years old. My dear brothers and sisters, we are very fortunate to witness the advent of
Prema Sai in another five to six years, around 2022. Swami has told me personally that Prema
Sai will come to Muddenahalli as a boy and all of you will have the glorious opportunity to
serve Him - and He is building an ashram for this purpose.

Divine Discourse by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

I do not dwell in Vaikuntha, neither do I reside in the hearts of the yogis. I install myself
where My devotees sing My glory.
Embodiments of Divine Love, devotees!
Since time immemorial, man has been searching for God everywhere. Man has been
searching for God and asking whether the Lord is in Vaikuntha, Kailasa, or Brahmaloka. Is
God in the mandir or in the masjid? However, man is not able to attain Godhood or find
God. Also, people belonging to various religions started to claim that their religion is the
greatest. With a narrow understanding and narrow-mindedness, people of various religions
started propagating about God in their own ways, in their own language. It is like the four
blind men who saw an elephant. One of them said that it was like a pillar, another said that
it was like a wall, and yet another said that it is like a rope. In the same way, people of
various religions are describing God in their own ways. They wrote various addresses for
gods and went on proclaiming that that is where God resided, in that particular address.
But wherever they searched for God, they could not find Him. The simple reason is that they
were looking for God only outside. They were not looking for God inside. It is useless to
search for something in a place where it is not. You can only find it if you search for it in a
place where it already is.
The trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara were once discussing as to where they could
hide the Divinity. Brahma said Let us hide the Divinity of man in the ocean, where man
cannot know and he will not be able to find his own Divinity. Mahavishnu said, No, no. That
is not the right plan. We can easily find man learning all kinds of arts and skills. He may get
into the depths of the ocean and he may be able to find the Divinity there." Then Shiva
said, Let us hide mans divinity on the moon. Definitely, man is not going to reach there."
Mahavishnu said, Just as how man can reach the depths of the ocean, he can also reach
the moon. So, it is useless to hide mans Divinity there.
Finally they discussed in depth and did what Mahavishnu advised. Mans natural instinct is
to look outside, if we hide mans Divinity within himself, he will never be able to find it. As
the Divinity is hidden within man, man is looking for God only outside and therefore, he is
not able to find him. Outside, one can only find the reflection of God; you cannot find the
real God. True Divinity is hidden in you and that is what even Tigrett was explaining.
For a man with body consciousness, to understand the formless energy that is God may be
difficult. Just as a father becomes a child in order to entertain his children, God also comes
down to the level of human beings in order to teach them. Though God comes to the
human level, he never ever forgets His inner divinity. God comes to the individual soul level,
but if man thinks God in human form is the ultimate truth, He is making a big mistake. In a
heart which is full of love, compassion and sacrifice, God resides permanently.
Now, all of you are seated in this room. For those of you sitting in this room, it is not possible
to see the people sitting in the other room. Only when you cross over this wall, can you see
the people sitting in the other room. Just because you cannot see the people in the other
room, you, cannot declare that there is nobody sitting in the other room. Many of you have
come here from India. When you were in India, would not have seen Dubai.

Just because you had not seen Dubai, to claim that Dubai did not exist would not have
been correct. Similarly, sitting in Dubai, you cannot see India. So, declaring that India is not
there is not correct. When you go to India and see India, then you will know that India exists.
Just because you cant see something, you cannot say it doesnt exist at all. What does this
mean? There is a wall between you and the truth, and hence you are not able to see the
truth. Between humanity and Divinity, there is a curtain. In the curtain, there are threads.
Ego and attachment are the wall and woven threads of the curtain that evades you from
God. If you want to remove the curtain, you must remove one thread after another. When
you remove the threads of ego and attachment, then the curtain of maya will go and you
will be able to see the truth for yourself. Till then, you have to put in your effort.

Every act of selflessness is like removing one thread of ego. Every action done with selfless
love will be like removing a thread of attachment. This way, if you remove all the threads of
ego and attachment from the curtain of maya, one day this curtain will fall away and you
will be able to see the truth for yourself. Till then, you have to keep attempting and putting
in the effort in that direction. This is the truth that Sai Baba taught to the world. Because we
are not able to remove ego and attachment, we are not able to find God within ourselves;
we are looking for God outside. All of these are wasteful efforts. In the same way, you see
a mirage of water in a desert; you think and imagine that there is God in the outside world.
When you realise that God is there within yourself, then the whole outside scene vanishes
and you will see Divinity.
Brahmavid Brahmaiva bhavathi,"- One who knows God will become God. You will
experience great bliss seeing God everywhere.

There is space inside and outside the pot, but in ignorance, you think that the space outside
the pot and space inside the pot are different. If you break the pot, the space outside and
inside become one. Because of body consciousness, you lose divine consciousness and we
are confined to narrow-mindedness and narrow thinking. In order to give up your body
consciousness and attain divine consciousness, you have to completely get rid of ego and
attachment.
Develop complete faith that God is within you, in everyone and everywhere. Just doing lip
service is not enough. When you are hungry and you go to a hotel, just by looking at the
menu card, your stomach will not be filled. Instead, when you read the menu card, your
hunger will increase. If you have to get rid of the hunger, you will have to eat, chew and
swallow the food, digest it and derive strength therefrom. Realisation and wisdom cant be
attained by lecturing - not by intellect, by listening to lectures, by actions, by worrying, or
by progeny; only by sacrifice can one attain immortality.
Those who have been with Me are very noble and great. Narasimha Murthy came to Me
as a boy of 19 years. The only thing I asked from him was, "You do My work and I will do your
work." Even Sreenivas joined My college and I told him only one thing, "Keep doing My work.
I will look after all your work and all your life." They led a life of discipline and did a lot of
work to help many people. Tigrett is not like that. He was a jungle tiger. It took him time to
understand. It took time for Me to make this jungle tiger a zoo tiger. For 17 long years, he
kept visiting Puttaparthi and Brindavan, but I never paid attention to him. Though I did not
speak to him, he knew I was God and with a sacred heart, kept coming to Me again and
again. When I placed a very hard test for him, with great effort, he passed and is now with
Swami.
One may be a millionaire or billionaire, but that is not important to God. A person may be
very great in the world, but if he is not a good person, God will not bless him. Greatness is
connected with the world and not with God. Goodness alone is connected with God. That
is what I was telling My alumni students. You acquire all kinds of degrees and earn lots of
things in this world, but if you dont become dear to God, you will not become near to God.
If you want to become near to God, you must become dear to God.
Who is dear to God? Only those who listen to God, understand, and practise His teachings
in their lives become dear to God. It is not proper for anyone to listen through one ear and
let it out through the other ear. It is very essential to understand at least one or two
teachings, practise them and enjoy bliss therefrom. Instead of wasting time your time in
logic and argument, whether Swami is here or not, practise what Swami tells you and enjoy
bliss. Only once you experience it, will you be able to see God everywhere and enjoy great
bliss. If you cannot find God within yourself, you will definitely not find Him outside yourself.
He will only remain as an idol and will not become God.
"Dehame devalayam, Jeevude sanathana Daivam."- The body is the temple of God and
one who dwells inside is God himself. Therefore, it is important you keep the body clean,
sacred and pure. It is not human nature to become slaves to oneself and ones senses and
struggle for sensual pleasures.
Two saints, Jnandev and Namdev were walking in a forest. Jnandev, through penance,
had attained lot of siddhis or attainments.

Because of the harsh sun, both of them felt thirsty. They spotted a well but the water was
very deep and they could not reach it. Jnandev, due to his attainments and power,
changed himself to a bird, went down the well, drank and returned. Namdev felt this was
not correct. "First, I was an animal; now I am a human being. It is not right to become an
animal again." With devotion in his heart, he started chanting the name of God. With every
utterance of Gods name, the water started rising. Because of continuous chanting of
Gods name, the water level rose to the top. With his devotion, he could get Gods grace
and drink the water. He did not want to become an animal to drink the water.
Because of the temptation of senses, we behave like animals and it is not right. Sense
control and mind control are very essential on the spiritual path. For all the senses, the mind
is the driver. If the car is moving in a zigzag manner, it is not the mistake of the car; it is the
mistake of the driver. If you have the right driver, he will drive the car properly and you will
reach the correct destination. When you have a bad driver, you will meet with an accident
and never reach the destination. When you make your mind pure, you will drive the car of
the body properly and it will take you to the right destination.
"Yad bhavam tad bhavathi." As you think, so you become. When you have pure feelings in
the mind, the body and senses will be pure and you will be able to attain God. Because of
tendencies that have come with us from many, many lives, selfishness is deep within us.
Body consciousness is there very deep in us. It is possible to get rid of body consciousness
and attain divine consciousness by selfless service and selfless love.
Any teacher might make an advent, whether it is Shirdi Sai Baba, Sathya Sai Baba or Prema
Sai Baba. However, if the student is not correct, it is useless. Narasimha Murthy said that
when Prema Sai makes His advent, you will be able to see Him and derive great joy. But
truly I want to tell you one thing, however great and powerful the Avatar may be, if the
devotee is having deep attachment and ego within himself, it will be useless for him. You
can find fulfilment in your lives only if you get rid of ego and attachment, and practise
selfless love and service. Then you can go to Him and derive joy therefrom.
When Sathya Sai Baba came, you learnt some lessons in the class. Now, you will have to do
your homework. When you do your homework today, you will be able to understand the
class better the next day. Therefore, all of you should put in effort to serve society, to go
way from ego, and ultimately attain Godhood. One act of selflessness everyday will keep
your ego away. What you cannot achieve in many years, you want to attain in one day.
Involve yourself in at least one act of service everyday, talk to everybody with selfless love
and one day or the other you will be able to reach Godhood.
My grace and blessings are there equally and in bounteous quantity to every one of you.
When it rains, every particle of earth gets the same water. If the vessel is small, you get less
quantity of water and if the vessel is big, you can get a large quantity. Therefore, My grace
depends on your effort. If you put in the right effort, you can enjoy divine grace to any
extent. This moment, you will have to decide that definitely from today onward, you will do
some kind of service every day and develop selfless love, and with My grace you will be
able to attain the goal. Now, you do your homework and when I start My class, I will invite
you and then you can come.
If you have any questions, you can ask. Only those who practise will get to ask questions.

Question & Answer Session with Bhagawan Baba

Question: Is there free will or is everything decided
by Bhagawan Baba?
Swami: If you come to the classroom, it is your
destiny to get admission to the class, to have a
particular teacher come to teach you, and to
study certain subjects in a certain way, as taught
by the teacher you get. However, whether you
pay attention in the class, do homework well and
then understand the lesson better is your free will.
A student who comes to class and sleeps without
paying attention, or if his mind is in the football field
and not in the class, obviously will not progress and
will not attain much. So, for a man who has strict
identification with the body, the rules are, there is
a certain destiny that brings you to a certain place.
But what you make of it is your free will; You must
make the best of what your destiny provides you.
Coming to Baba is destiny, becoming like Baba is
free will. You must put in the effort.
As long as body consciousness is there, duality is there; both free will and destiny exist. Only
for one who has gone beyond body consciousness does nothing exist. Everything becomes
Divine, for he himself is Divine. Till then you have to go through the rules.

Question: Swami, what happens to a person after death?

Swami: Death is like the body that changes clothes. Jivatma changes bodies. Till it gets
another body, it has to wait. The wait is in order to check what one has done till date, how
one has led their life. One will attain another body, be born in another family and be taken
care of by some other parents, depending on how bad or good one has been in the
previous birth. So, death is like changing from old clothes to new clothes, so also from old
body to new body. You then continue your journey. You go from class to home today, and
then to the next class. So also, you are born, you die and are again reborn. This journey of
birth and death keeps happening.
The world is like a classroom; the universe is like a university. Everybody who is born here is
born with a purpose to learn this lesson to know that his true nature is Divine. Till he or she
learns this lesson, he will come back to the class again and again. Once you learn and
pass, you will get your degree; you need not come to class gain. You will become one with
the Divine and there is no more class for you. If you havent learned your ABCDs correctly
in primary, how can you pass the entrance exam for the high school? Therefore, what you
do today, where you are is extremely important for determining your tomorrow.

Question: There are three Avatars - Shirdi Sai is separate, Sathya Sai is separate and Prema
Sai is separate. Now, there was a statement that Prema Sai will be visiting Muddenahalli.
Could you please elucidate on that. Is Prema Sais mission separate?
Swami: The mission is not separate. Every Avatar Krishna, Rama, Jesus, or Buddha, all of
them were born for the same mission. The mission is transformation; transformation from
humanness to Divinity. The way it is being taught is different. Shirdi Baba talked in the
language of the place where He was born. Only those people could associate with Him.
Sathya Sai Baba did His work in a certain way and His devotees associated with Him in a
certain way. Prema Sai will do His work in a certain way and His devotees will like to
associate with Him in a certain way. In truth, it is the same water in different vessels. The size,
shape and colour of the vessels might be different, but the water, its sweetness, its property
to quench the thirst of the thirsty is same. Therefore, the underlying oneness is the same. The
outer appearances are different.

Question: Sometimes, we face adverse situations and we react to them without thinking
and act impulsively. Does this bring us down spiritually? What should we do to prevent such
reactions?
Swami: There are two ways one can live by: purvatapa and pashchattapa. Purvatapa is
thinking of the consequences before you act and then deciding whether the act is
meritorious or not. Pashchattapa is acting before you think and then suffering for what
youve done.
A man can truly live correctly if he thinks before he acts; i.e. purvatapa. In the
Mahabharata, Arjuna had to fight his own kith and kin. Before the battle itself, he saw the
consequences of the war and told Krishna that he did not want to fight because the war
would lead to destruction of his own people on both sides. That is purvatapa. Most of the
time we act instinctively and then we suffer. Thinking before acting is a good quality, which
is the power of viveka or discrimination, which is given only to human beings. Discriminating
right actions from wrong actions, i.e. viveka, and detachment, i.e. vairagya, from that
action which is not meritorious, is important. So, man has been bestowed with viveka and
vairagya, and it is upto the man whether to use them or not. Animals do not have this
power. So, they act without thinking and suffer or enjoy based on what theyve done. Man
is different. He has been given this discrimination and detachment. Discrimination of right
from wrong, of good and bad, of meritorious and sinful acts, and then detaching himself
from all that is sinful, wrong and bad. You must practise using this. Only by practise will you
attain perfection. Therefore, the next time a situation arises like this, you will be able to
choose well.
The mind is always in a hurry. It wants its ego, which is its identity, to be protected. It always
acts in favour of its own ego. The heart always worries and thinks about others before
acting, because the heart is selfless. Therefore, the heart will take the right decisions every
moment. Anytime you have to say or do something, take a moment, close your eyes, take
a deep breath and think what it would lead to. Do not be in a hurry to act. Hurry, Worry,
Curry. Haste makes waste, waste makes worry. Do not be in a hurry.

Question: In spite of our faith and devotion, suffering is not ending. Does that mean that our
prayer is not heard?
Swami: Suffering is not a state of the body, but a state of the mind. Draupadi was humiliated
in the court of the Kauravas because her own husbands, forefathers and elders had
abandoned her and allowed her to be humiliated at the hands of the wicked Kauravas.
She was perturbed, sad, and wondered why she must undergo such suffering when she
had such powerful husbands to protect her and so many elders in the court who could
have saved her. Eventually, she cried out to Lord Krishna. Initially, she cried out for help to
her husbands and the elders, but finally she surrendered herself to Krishna.
Though Krishna did not appear, her sari became inexhaustible and that was the proof of
Krishnas grace. When Draupadi was later pondering in her chambers about the incident,
as to why this suffering was sent her way, and she thought very deeply and decided that
when she depended on herself, she had to suffer, when she depended on her husbands
the relations and relatives, she had to suffer, but only when she depended on God and
surrendered completely, there was no suffering, for He came and rescued her. So long as
we depend on our own skills, though we may pray, sing bhajans, do seva and do all
activities that we consider spiritual, weve truly not surrendered our mind completely to
God. Just by singing bhajans, you cannot get rid of the suffering. Only when your mind is
completely absorbed in God, like anaesthesia, which completely deactivates you from the
pains of the body, even though you undergo the operation, you do not feel the pain the
body has to undergo. Likewise, the mind which is completely absorbed in God, completely
surrendered to God, will know no suffering. Till then, one will undergo suffering. Only a mind
completely absorbed in God will know no suffering.

Question: Swami, you say, Love all, serve all," but when we serve, if the same person comes
back to ask for more service again and again, isnt that person being greedy?
Swami: When you start on a mission to serve, you dont even see whom you are serving.
You are there only to serve. When a river flows, it does not see who is drinking water from it.
Whether an animal, bird, saint or sinner; it continues to flow. So, flowing is its nature.
So we should not judge while serving. How much can one take? There is a limit to it. Let him
stop on his own. If you start discriminating, you contaminate your act. Therefore, when you
serve, do not do any calculation, just serve and things will fall in its place.

Question: Swami, You have said that we have to do karma without thinking about the result.
How do we train ourselves to do our karma without even for moment thinking about the
result?

Swami: No, no, I never said that you should not think about the result. You must think about
what the result will lead to, but you should not claim ownership of the result. If you study
well, you will get good marks, but only for the sake of good marks, if you study, obviously
one will not learn. A lot of students are there whose aim is only to earn money; it is of no use.
They are not studying for the sake of learning. You study learn; you learn so that your mind
expands, then it acquires skills to help others. Studying for the sake of marks or money is of
no use. Therefore, even if you cook, do it so that everyone enjoys it. You dont cook to get
praise. You only want to do well. Do everything as an offering to God. If you do everything
as an offering to God, you will do everything well. You should not claim ownership of the
result. You should do everything with tremendous zeal interest, and to the best of your
ability. Do not wait for someone to appreciate what youve done. You should offer
everything to God and if He is satisfied, you should be self-satisfied, because there is nothing
else to look forward to. Do everything with complete interest and involvement and do not
claim the result thereof. Do every action as an offering to the Lord. What the Lord does with
it is up to Him. You dont worry about that. If you do every action in such a way, you will
attain perfection.

Question: (asked by a small girl) Why do people suffer so much before they die?
Swami: Did you see somebody suffering so much?
Small girl: My grandma
Swami: We suffer because we are afraid to die. We are afraid to die because we think this
is all there is. You study in school. After sometime, you graduate and go to the next school.
You have to go to the next school, as your previous school will not have more classes. You
might miss your old friends, teachers, and playground. In the process, you forget that to
learn more, you must move to a new school. You are so attached to your old school that
you do not wish to go to the new school. If you realise that by going to the new school, you
will learn more, you will get new friends, and get new insights, then you will not suffer. When
we die, we think it is the end and we are losing everyone close to us. That is not the truth.
When we die, we are born again to learn new lessons and play with new playmates till we
reach lifes goal. At your level, going from an old school to a new school causes suffering
because you are attached to your old friends. Likewise, with life, it is mental suffering. When
you grow up, you will understand better.

Question: In order to attain Divinity, we must control our mind and senses. However, in this
materialistic world, and day to day life, how is it possible to control our mind and senses?
Swami: The mind is an instrument given to you to attain Divinity. The mind is not an obstacle,
but it is through the mind that one should attain Divinity. When the mind is used to fulfil the
needs of the senses, it is not wrong. If you are hungry, you must eat, but what you eat must
be chosen carefully. You should eat Satwic food, that which is pure and fresh, without
harming anyone. It may not satisfy the taste of your tongue, but it will satisfy your hunger.
To that extent, using your mind and senses is not wrong. It is only when we are not satisfied
with fulfilling our need, but we become greedy, that the problem starts.

One day, one girl visiting Muddenahalli brought Me coffee powder. She told Me, Swami,
this is the best coffee powder in the world. I asked, What is it made of?" She said, "There is
a cat in Africa which is fed with coffee beans. It then excretes the beans, and along with
the excreta, the coffee beans are fried and then this powder is made. Should you stoop
to such a level to satisfy your tongue? This is worse than an animal. Drinking coffee is ok but
drinking coffee of such nature is in no way justified.
The mind and senses, as long as they fulfil the basic needs, are a help and not harm, but
once you start becoming greedy, there is no end to what one wants, and thats where the
problem starts. To the extent that you control your mind, you should use your senses, it is not
wrong. Beyond that, it is wrong.
You see cars with speedometers having a high range. People here drive big cars imported
from other countries. If you start driving at the full speed of the car, obviously you will meet
with an accident. Though you are provided with a wide range in the speedometer, you
must drive abiding by the rules.

Question: How can we live in this world with dispassion and without having body
consciousness?
Swami: Do you stay in your own house or a leased
house?
Devotee: Leased house.
Swami: Having rented a house, wouldnt it be foolish
if you claim ownership of the leased house and
declare yourself as the owner? Its ok to live in the
house and keep it clean, and you might have
enjoyed and felt comfortable in the house, but
never forget at the back of your mind, that one day
the lease will expire and you will have to vacate and
go. Attaching yourself unnecessarily to the house is
incorrect. Eventually, all relations and everything will
one day go. Therefore, attaching too much
importance to your body is not good. Take care of
your body because it has been given to you by God;
that is your responsibility. Just because the house
does not belong to you, you cannot go about
damaging it. Take care.

Question: Politicians are exploiting the public; intelligent people are exploiting the less
intelligent. Why is the reaction to an action not immediate? If there is an immediate reaction
for the corrupt politicians, they will stop exploiting the people. Why is the result of karma
after a few or many janmas? Thats why people are not afraid of committing sins. If the effect
was immediate, the world would be a more peaceful place to live.

Swami: One student of Mine is very fond of eating. He is so fond of eating that even if his
stomach hurts, he will not stop. He will go on eating. He goes back and takes a few
medicines so that he can eat more. Its not that wrong-doers are not suffering. They are
always afraid, they dont have peace, nor do they get sleep; they are worried and afraid
that they will be condemned or punished for what theyve done. They are constantly living
in tremendous fear. That itself is a punishment for them. Like the student who is fond of food,
even at the cost of destroying himself, he goes on eating.
Likewise, the politicians and the people in power go on misusing their powers till it becomes
impossible for them. Punishment is not about physical punishment; mentally they keep
suffering. For a moment, think of a life where you are continuously living in fear; that itself is
a form of punishment. Somewhere, as I said, the greed is too much. They are not able to
stop themselves. However, eventually they will collapse. As long as the Law of Karma is in
effect, the truth is that there is an immediate reaction for every action. Sometimes you
realise and sometimes you dont realise the reaction. Ultimately, suffering and joy occurs
even as you are acting. Isnt it a form of punishment that a wrong-doer constantly lives in
fear? Is he not in constant fear? He is, but still, he continues to do what he has planned, as
he has no control over his mind. Therefore, joy or suffering start immediately after the action,
but the larger consequence come later on.
Prasadam has been organised. Everyone must eat before leaving.

(The program ended with the bhajan Prema Muditha Manase Kaho Ram Ram Ram
followed by the birthday song, cake cutting and Mangala Arathi.)
