WELCOME TO TERM 2
I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome all members of our school community back
from the Easter break. I hope all of our students are well rested for the busy term ahead.
The first half of Term 2 is particularly busy with all students participating in
the Tootgarook Spellathon sponsor sheets have been sent home and need
to be returned next Wednesday 20th April the Spellathon will take place on
Friday 22nd April. Children may come dressed in black and yellow Spelling
BEE colours on the day.
Our annual School Cross Country will be held on Tuesday 26th April. Children may come
dressed in their house colours to support their team.
The times are as follows;
11.30am-1.30pm Grade 3-6 (running for district)
2.30pm-3.30pm Grade prep-2 (running for house points)
Year 3 and 5 students will sit their NAPLAN tests in mid-May.

Please make note that our third staff training day for 2016 is scheduled for Friday
10th June and no students are to attend school on this day.

ANZAC DAY MONDAY 25TH APRIL 2016


An open invitation is extended to Tootgarook PS parents, teachers
and pupils to attend the Rye RSL Anzac Day Commemorative
Service at the RSL on Monday 25th April. The march will commence
at the Rye Pier at 12:15pm. Our School Captains Miah Taylor and
Bailey German will represent the school by laying a wreath during the Memorial
Service.

The Rosebud RSL have supplied the school with support badges for ANZAC Day
children can give a donation and receive a badge all money received helps support
War Veterans.
Thankyou to our market helpers at our last market on Saturday 23 rd March Sarah Inglis,
Kirrilee Holliss, Christine Rae, Michelle George, Nathan Opie, Ruth Underwood, Robrt
Magnano, Carol Ann Bavage, Kate Gaul, Amanda Gregg, Elizabeth Taralaikov,
Amanda Reeve, Cindy Penzo, Kayla Brundell, Christine Young, Mandy Bos, Sandra
Walton, Leanne McLeod. Our next market is Saturday 23rd April with 5/6 M + 5/6Q
rostered on.

Students will be presented with certificates at next Thursday afternoons assembly.

Prep R Mrs Read Ava Anthony You have been working very hard at home and in class to learn your letter
names and sounds. Well done!
Prep S Miss Staley Eleanor McIntosh I am impressed with the way you always offer to help your class
mates when you complete your own work. Thank You!
1A Miss Arnold Mason Hocking- Duke- What a great start to the term. When learning about nouns, you
could easily recall a name of a person, place or thing. During learning tasks, you are trying your hardest. You
are BEING responsible for your learning. Keep up the great work!
1P Miss Perkins Sonny Feron - WOW Sonny! You have begun Term Two with a great learning attitude. You
are asking and answering questions during class time and are BEING a great listener as well!
2B Mrs Baird Riley OBrien Thankyou for making Mrs Bruin feel so welcome in 2B. You are a very helpful
member of the class who always displays the RICH School Values.
2J - Mrs Johnstone Eden Romeril for working hard to complete all activities to a high standard and making
interesting contributions to discussions.
3B Mrs Bos Rhiannon Fraser for being a helpful, happy and positive member of our classroom. You are a
pleasure to have in the grade.
3W Ms Walton Zoe Shevlin - for her enthusiasm and the extra effort she is putting into all her schoolwork
and for the absolutely amazing diorama she constructed at home.
4B Miss Broomfield
4F Miss Kain Dee-Jay Watkins for his positive behaviour in class and class discussion. Great work Dee-Jay!
4/5K Mr Kitchin Aysia Fyson you have had a fantastic start to term 2. Keep making great choices. Well
Done.
5/6M Miss McGhee Jayden Holliss - For always completing our daily timetable before school. Jayden you
have shown great organisational skills and it helps our class everyday. Well done!
5/6Q Miss Quintin You use your excellent manners in our classroom everyday Mia Goldberg. We enjoy
having you light up our grade with your funny stories and big smile.
Art / Craft Miss Davey Music - Mrs Young Holly Thomas 1A In music you had to keep a steady, slow beat and you did that with
outstanding focus and skill making sure not to rush it or lose the beat.
P.E. Miss Daley Archy Dwyer Prep R - For being a very good listener and always following instructions.
