Hunger and food insecurity are a major problem in South Carolina. Most people and
families get entangled with unpredictable food situations, with children accounting for 28% of
those with food insecurity. As revealed by the bureau of statistics, South Carolina is a worst case
scenario with some parts like rock hill city falling on the much negative side of this issue. With
poverty levels increasing and short term solutions failing to bear long-term fruits, it is essential to
come up with an intervention to propose some resolutions whose likelihood of bearing fruits is
much more than the existing strategies.
The goals of my intervention plan will get geared towards increasing food security,
decreasing the poverty levels, improving the living conditions of the affected persons, better
management of food reserves, devising more ways of getting more sources of food and
improving the quality of food not forgetting the social part of it.
The outcomes of the intervention anticipated with this project will be reducing the
financial strain caused by food and medication costs from 75% to at least 50% and reducing the
percentage of children with food insecurity towards the zero percent mark. Counties with high
levels of poverty will benefit from financial aid and get access to new methodologies of earning
money and implementing backyard gardening in an effort to slash the poverty levels.
Having assessed the data on the average population of both adults (including the elderly)
and children, the percentage incomes quota used in food and Medicare, and the percentage levels
of poverty, an intervention is indispensable. However, besides using my intervention strategies,
some gaps need to get addressed. For example, some of the figures that get concerned with both

governmental and nongovernmental organizations are worth including. Also, the average income
per capita should get accounted for to come up with better strategies.
The project will get supported by facts under the ROI process where an evaluation
framework fused with case application and practice, and the operating philosophy will bear
returns in the whole program (Patti & Jack 2010).
