Esoteric Acupuncture was developed by Dr. Mikio Sankey as a more expansive system to broaden the scope of our
present understanding and utilization of energy (qi) through an expanded view of life and expanded way of thinking.
The existing acupuncture systems that originally came out of Asia, even those that have been modified in Europe
and the US, mainly focus and emphasize treating the dense physical body, with some attention to the astral
(emotional) and mental planes. Esoteric Acupuncture emphasizes the Wellness Stage and the spiritual centre of
the individual rather than treating the disease stages.
Esoteric Acupuncture was developed to harmonize and align the subtle levels of consciousness in the astral realms
(chakras) with the levels below, as well as access and align the mental and causal planes through to the higher
hyperspatial dimensions for personal inner, spiritual growth. This means that we must become intimate with the
spiritual aspects of our higher heart. Treatments with Esoteric Acupuncture encompass all the various levels of
consciousness from the dense physical, the etheric, astral, mental, causal, buddhic, atmic, monadic and to the
logoic planes and beyond. Esoteric Acupuncture introduces an expanded system of consciousness to replace the
old paradigm of waiting for an imbalance to occur before taking action.
The Esoteric Acupuncture workshops are designed for licensed acupuncturists and for those who have a
background in Chinese acupuncture theory and in the Chinese Five Element Theory. Since this is an advanced,
postgraduate presentation, it is beneficial for the participants to be familiar with the traditional location of
acupuncture points and acupuncture theory. It is also beneficial to have at least a general background on the Hindu
Chakra system, as it will be integrated with certain aspects of the Chinese acupuncture system.
Dr. Sankey will reveal the esoteric uses of the traditional acupuncture points that are used in Esoteric Acupuncture.
He will demonstrate how to find the points from the traditional academic viewpoint, and show how to locate the
acupuncture sites by looking for, or feeling where the qi is located. The esoteric Chinese names of the certain
acupuncture points will be discussed.
Esoteric Acupuncture encompasses much more than what is taught in the traditional Asian schools of thought. The
first part of the presentation will include the background of Esoteric Acupuncture and various philosophies that
support the thinking behind it. Discussion topics will include sacred geometry, the esoteric meaning behind certain
numbers and how these numbers are connected to energies that evolve into the Seed of Life, to the Flower of Life,
to the Qabbalistic Tree of Life, to the Hindu chakra and nadi systems, and eventually to the Universal axiatonal
grids all within the framework of acupuncture. There will be an overview of Esoteric Shaoyin that involves the fire
triangle of the heart versus the water triangle of the kidneys and how they are connected to the tetrahedrons and
tetrahedral geometry.

The second part will include a discussion of the seven major chakras of the Hindu system and how to utilize this
information in your daily acupuncture practice. There will be hands-on demonstrations by the instructor, as well as
ample time for participants to locate and needle various New Encoding Patterns starting with the most important,
basic pattern: The Crown Infinity Pattern. You will learn in a step-by-step method how to extend this basic New
Encoding Pattern to build the Discern the Whisper Pattern and the various Esoteric Shaoyin Patterns. At the end of
the two-day intensive workshop, each participant should be able to align and harmonize the seven major chakras
of your client using the New Encoding Patterns of Esoteric Acupuncture that were taught during this workshop.
If time allows, there will be a brief review of the course at the end of the second day with a question and answer
period.

Instructor Biography
Dr. Mikio Sankey has five published books in the Esoteric Acupuncture series, starting with Esoteric Acupuncture
Volume 1: Gateway to Expanded Healing, published in 1999, as well as two DVDs on Esoteric Acupuncture published in
2010. He was recognized as the 2006 Acupuncture Author of the Year by the National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Organization known as AOM for the book Sea of Fire - Cosmic Fire, Esoteric Acupuncture Volume IV.
Dr. Sankey is listed in AOM Pioneers and Leaders, 1982 - 2007, A Commemorative Book of Challenge and Courage,
Volume 1. This is a collaborative work of the various acupuncture organizations in the US including the AAAOM, NCCAOM,
CCAOM and the ACAOM honouring the leaders who were responsible for shaping the direction of acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine in the first 25 years of practice in the US.
Dr. Mikio Sankey received a masters degree in Oriental Medicine and acupuncture from Samra University in Los Angeles,
California. He received a Ph.D. degree in Oriental Medicine and acupuncture from American Liberty University in
Fullerton, California, and has a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Honolulu University.
