Procedure for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)


Ordering and Receiving
Ordering
1. Order Forms are located at the Business Office in Room 203. Completely fill out the order Form
with all requested information and have your research supervisor enter the account number and
sign the form. An Order Form without an account number will be returned.
2. Please indicate the type of delivery. For example, regular ground USPS, FedEx, UPS, or other.
3. All orders will be placed within two business days and a copy of the purchase order will be placed
in the account managers mailbox.
Receiving
1. Incoming shipments are received in the Departmental Stockroom from the Central Warehouse.
2. Stockroom employees distribute all packages with TTU Receiving Reports attached.
3. Check the contents of the package against the Packing Slip and notify the Business Office of any
damage or missing items.
4. After inspection of package(s) indicate on the Receiving Report if the order is complete or not.
Staple the Packing Slip or photocopy there of to the signed Receiving Report on the same day
that the shipment arrives.
5. Timely submission of the TTU Receiving Report for the shipment will avoid late penalties being
charged to the account managers grant.

Job scope of warehouse


They are looking for a capable Warehouse Associate to support their companys warehouse
operations. We will receive, input, sort, load and unload products and we will perform various
warehouse activities.
We must have responsibilities of job scope in warehouse:
Process, package and ship orders accurately
Organise stocks and maintain inventory
Inspect products for defects and damages
Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments
Organise warehouse space
Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items appropriately
Check, verify and fill customer invoices
Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimise warehousing procedures
Keep warehouse clean and organised daily
Requirement for job scope are:
Proven warehouse experience
Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
Adequate knowledge of warehouse data system
Team player with organisational skills
Ability to lift or move heavy products
High school diploma

As they would expect for a Company of their size, they have people performing many different jobs
that offer various career paths in warehouse. The majority of their positions are Courier/Driver,
Handlers (Warehouse and Ramp), Customs (Import/Export), Operations Management that help
support the business in achieving its goals.
Courier/Driver
The face of FedEx to their customers, they will organise and complete the collection and delivery of
their packages. Besides that, working within an assigned area, this is more than just a driving job.
Building strong relationships with their customers, we will ensure that they continue to deliver an
outstanding customer experience.
Handlers (Warehouse and Ramp)
They Handlers ensure that all their customers' packages get to the right place, on time. Sorting and
moving packages and freight. As well as checking labels for correct destinations, they will identify
packages needed by Customs and use advanced scanning technology to allow customers to track
their packages.
Ramp Handler positions which is only available at locations with aircraft operations, are a great
opportunity for someone looking to pursue an aircraft related career. They will ensure that
customers' packages are loaded on and off the aircraft quickly and safely. We will train us with the
specialist skills to operate a wide range of equipment, including safety marshalling and directing
their planes whilst on the ground. Both positions call for good team players who have excellent
attention to detail, a flexible approach and a total commitment to safety.
At FedEx warehouse, they have several choices as far as jobs are concerned, including but not limited
to Material Handler, Dockworker. Warehouse jobs require lifting materials or goods weighing up to a
100 lbs. we will be given the appropriate equipments required for the job such as forklift, pallet jack
and hand truck, pallets, ropes, straps, and so on. We will be required to ensure proper palletisation,
loading and storage of shipments, both inbound as well as outbound.
For jobs such as that of Material Handler, you will be required to use a PC or RF-based systems to
perform tasks. For weights over 50 lbs, assistance will be provided for lifting duties. For jobs such as
Dockworker, prior warehouse experience is preferred though not necessary. We must be at least 18

years old in order to work at FedEx warehouse. The working hours might vary according to operational
needs. For working as a material handler, it will require a High School diploma or equivalent with at
least 2 years of experience in the related field. Material Handling also requires having a forklift
certification.
