Evaluating Stakeholders Claims:
1. Identify the key stakeholders of your educational institution.What claims do they
place on the institution?
Ans.

In each and every educational institution, there are large number of stakeholders who

hold the power to influence the decision making as well as overall functioning of the institution.
Following are some main and key stakeholders associated with my educational institution:

Internal Stakeholders:
Stockholders and employees, including executive officers, other managers, and board members.

Teachers :
Teachers play a critical role in helping improve status and reputation of the institution in
terms of teaching techniques.
Contribution:
They contribute their knowledge and teaching skills to the institution.
Inducement:
Institution induces them in the form of salary, incentives and other perks etc.

Administration:
Like teachers, administration is also responsible for reputation from the administrative
perspective.
Contribution:
They contribute their expertise in handling the administrative affairs of the institution.
Inducement:
Institution induces them with salary, rewards and incentives etc.

Principal:
He plays an important role in the decision making and growth of the institution.
Contribution:
He contributes his professional skills in order to make decisions of long run.
Inducement:
Institution induces him with the profitability.

External Stakeholders:

All other individuals and groups that have some claim on the company.

Parents:
Parents are very interested in the educational institution, but have little influence on the
institution.
Contribution:
They contribute by admitting their child in the institution.
Inducement:
Institution reward their child a worthy degree.

Students:
Students are the participants in the institution.
Contribution:
They contribute in the form of fees they pay quarterly.
Inducement:
Institution induces them with the knowledge of experts and at the end rewards a degree.

Government:
Government also plays a major role especially in regards to taxes, rules and regulations
etc.
Contribution:
Government monitors that objective of learning is being met or not.
Inducement:
Institution induces the government in the form of taxes etc.

Suppliers:
Suppliers also have a claim on the educational institution.
Contribution:
Suppliers supply the supplies, furniture and other equipments necessary for education.
Inducement:
Institution induces him by paying him for the items he supplied over the time period.

Competitor:
Competitors are more concerned with the institution.
Contribution:
He creates a competitive environment in the sector.
Inducement:
He gets either a competitive edge or some techniques or ideas to implement in his
institution.

Conclusion:
The roles of each stakeholder in an educational institution provide an integral part to the entire
organization. The parents and students as stakeholders, have a right to complain to the principal.

Though each stakeholder has a say in the institution, the power and influence of say may depend
on the role and the position of a stakeholder.
