In Local News:

A Plainsboro man was arrested on a slew of charges stemming from an

accident in which he reportedly rear-ended a woman’s car Saturday and

attempted to flee the scene. Police officers chased and tackled Anthony

Gaylord, age 29, after he attempted to flee the scene at about 9:12AM.

Gaylord was arrested and is being held on multiple charges including

driving while intoxicated.

Three Atlantic City men were busted with 65-hundred dollars worth of drugs

and two loaded handguns at a traffic stop. The felons had 654 bags of heroin

in their possession and one of the men had a handgun on his waist. All three

men had bad records and were already convicted felons, so they were each

charged with five counts.

In National News:

A 14-month investigation led to three South Florida clinics being raided on

suspicion of distributing millions of illegal painkillers. They were all owned

by twin brothers who had five physicians administering more than two-

million highly addictive oxycodone pills. The Drug Enforcement

Administration and FBI say that the five doctors were ranked in the top-20

purchasers of oxycodone and made up to 1.2-million dollars each last year.

Nineteen-year old fraternity member, Shaun Dunn, wrapped another

member up in toilet paper Saturday and set it on fire. Sigma Alpha Epsilon

has suspended its University of Kentucky chapter after what was supposed

to be a prank, turned dangerous. The fraternity member is okay, but Dunn

was charged with first degree arson along with several other counts.

In International News:

Hundreds of earthquake survivors huddled around bonfires Monday in

eastern Turkey, after a strong earthquake knocked down stone and mud-

brick houses and killed 51 people. The 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the

impoverished area at 4:32AM and more than 100 aftershocks, measuring up

to 5.5 magnitude, shook the region on Monday.

A suicide car bomber struck a building Monday where police interrogate

high-value suspects in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, killing at least 13

people and wounding dozens of others. This attack comes after a relatively

calm period in the country and shows that insurgents retain the ability to

strike the country's heartland despite army offensives aimed at wiping them

out.

In Sports:

The UCONN women’s basketball team made history yesterday!! They won

their 71st consecutive game by beating Notre Dame 59-44. Tina Charles led

the way for UCONN with 16 pts.

The San Antonio Spurs will be without all-star guard Tony Parker for 6

weeks with a broken hand. The good news is that Parker will not need

surgery. The Spurs hope to have Parker back for the playoffs.

With Syracuse’s second loss to Louisville, Kansas retakes number one in the

coach’s poll. It is the third separate time Kansas has held the number one

spot. Kansas looks to hold that spot all the way to the NCAA championship.

In Entertainment:

Two weeks ago, Conan O’Brien decided to follow a random person on

Twitter, that person turned out to be 19 year old Sarah Killen. Now, thanks

to the talk show host, Killen will be able to afford her dream wedding

because of all the publicity she has gotten.

Although Marie Osmond had not planned on speaking at her son’s funeral

yesterday, the singer spoke a few words of thanks to all the guests and later

joined in singing the hymn, “God be with you until we meet again.”
