1. EXT. - SOUL STREET OUTSIDE ELLIOTTS HOUSE - DAY

Our main character ELLIOTT is a soft-spoken guy in his midtwenties with a slim build, He has blue eyes, dark brown hair
and also wears glasses. He has suffered from paranoid
schizophrenia since his early teens. He also has bouts of
depression but despite everything he is a happy go lucky guy
with a self-deprecating sense of humour.
FADE IN:
We start off with ELLIOTT walking down the street listening
to music.
He walks past a man, who is standing casually, leaning
against a building. He has sunglasses on. As soon as ELLIOTT
passes, the man raises his hand to an earpiece in his ear.
MAN:
Yeah, we got him.
He continues to watch ELLIOTTs movement.
ELLIOTT looks towards the lights which are flashing green. He
starts to walk across. At the same time a BLACK CAR with
tinted windows is driving along at a brisk pace. ELLIOTT is
oblivious to this and is struck by the car knocking him over.
ELLIOTT is knocked a few feet in front of the car, and is
stunned, lying still on his back. We see a POV shot of
ELLIOTT knocked to the floor, and his eyes are blinking and
almost completely shut. He sees the legs of a man dressed in
white walking towards him.
The man wearing sunglasses slowly gets of the wall and walks
over to ELLIOTT. As he passes the car he waves, and the car
manoeuvres around ELLIOTT and the man, driving away.
2. INT. DREAM SEQUENCE DAY
FADE IN: ELLIOTTS HALLUCINATION:
He is standing alone in the middle of a dark room. A DOOR
appears on the wall opposite him. ELLIOTT walks towards it,
and tries to open it. When he tries to turn the HANDLE, it
breaks off in his hands, trapping him. He tries to fix the
handle, but it has completely broken off. He then tries to
force the door open by pushing at it, with no success.
Panicked, he looks around him for another way out, seeing
none. The room has no windows, and the only entrance is the
door, which is now broken.

2.
He hits the wall next to the door with his fists. The wall
falls apart like paper, tearing to reveal a camera with a RED
LIGHT blinking.
CUT TO THE CAMERAS POINT OF VIEW
ELLIOTT stares into the lens. He begins tearing away at the
walls, which falls apart easily. This reveals more and more
cameras, which are all surrounding and filming ELLIOTT. Cut
to another dark room, this one flooded with monitors, each
one showing him from one of the cameras viewpoints.
ELLIOTT backs away to the middle of the room, bumping into
another camera. He looks straight into the lens. Frightened,
he turns to see himself floating in midair, fast asleep. A
beam of light is shining on his head. He slowly reaches out
and touches his sleeping selfs shoulder. As he does this,
the sleeping Elliott opens his eyes, and the beam of light
shuts off.
3. INT. HOSPITAL - LATE AFTERNOON
ELLIOTT wakes up, sitting up and gasping. He hears a loud
beeping, and looks over to see he is attached to a heart
monitor, which is going off furiously because of his raised
heart rate.
He looks down at his arms, and gently runs his fingers over
the tape holding an IV in place. The hospital room is small,
brightly lit, and bare, except for the machines and ELLIOTT'S
bed. A NURSE enters the room, knocking quietly on his door.
NURSE
Oh, good. You're awake! I have a
visitor for you.
The nurse steps back, allowing his girlfriend, ELENA to step
into the room. She runs over to ELLIOTTS side.
ELENA
Oh my god, Elliott.. I was so
worried about you! Are you okay?
ELLIOTT
I-I guess, I dont feel much pain..
ELENA
That's so good to hear. Im really
glad you didnt break something. Do
you remember anything?

3.
ELLIOTT
Well thats the thing, I dont
really remember anything after the
accident.. except a shadowy
figure..
NURSE
Youre lucky to be alive. Whoever
hit you was didnt stop for
details. It was lucky that someone
phoned us.
ELLIOTT
Do you know who it was?
NURSE
He didnt leave a name or address..
We can try and put an inquiry
forward, but it might take some
time.
ELLIOTT
No, no. I just want to get out of
here. (Looking at the nurse)
How long will I have to stay in
here?
NURSE
Well, fortunately youve only
suffered a few bruises.
ELLIOTT
My head kind of hurts a though.
NURSE
Thats perfectly normal after an
accident like this. Thankfully the
doctor thinks you're in the clear.
The crash didn't cause any major
trauma.
ELLIOTT slowly nods. ELENA takes his hand, and grins happily.
ELLIOTT leans his head back against the pillows and closes
his eyes.
ELENA turns to talk to the nurse, and sees the man with
sunglasses from before that appeared before standing outside
the room, staring inside. She looks confused although she
doesnt think much of it. The nurse notices, and shuts the
door behind her.

4. INT. ELLIOTTS BEDROOM - LATE MORNING - ONE WEEK LATER

ClOSE-UP of ELLIOTT waking up with a start from the dream
sequence, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He is dressed in
his pyjamas, which consist of a T-shirt and plaid patterned
trousers. He looks around him, ensuring everything is normal.
He reaches out to his bedside table and checks the time on
his phone, and putting his glasses on.
ELLIOTT (TO HIMSELF)
Oh god.. What did I drink last
night?
He notices the clock on the wall, saying 11:30AM.
Shit.

ELLIOTT (CONTD)

ELLIOTT gets up out of bed, tossing his blankets sloppily

back onto the mattress. He walks to the bathroom and begins
getting ready. We see him brushing his teeth, the sound of
the toilet flushing, etc.. Shots of his morning routine are
interspersed with shots of his messy room, pictures of him
and his girlfriend ELENA on the side table, open mystery
novels lying everywhere. When he is finished getting ready,
he takes one final look in the mirror, and sighs. He then
grabs his keys and folders for work from the small table near
his door, and leaves, forgetting to lock his door.
5. EXT. LONDON STREET - SUFFRAGETTE ST. - EARLY AFTERNOON.
As he is walking to work, he sees a camera out of the corner
of his eye between two houses. When he turns to look, there
isnt anything there. Unsettled, he pulls his jacket a bit
tighter and continues. He approaches his work building, and
tries to open the door, but the handle breaks off in his
hand, like in his dream. He backs away from the door, looking
up to see a camera attached to the side of the building,
watching him.
He looks unsettled, and stands in front of the broken door
for a moment, idly playing with the broken handle. He reaches
out and tries to fix the handle, but quickly gives up. He
looks up at the camera again, which is still pointed at him.
ELLIOTT then walks briskly around to a different entrance,
looking around him constantly. He spots another camera on a
power line, and hurries inside an office building.
SCREEN FADES.

5.
6. INT. OFFICE: ELLIOTTS DESK - AFTERNOON
ELLIOTT is an intern at a NEWS STUDIO on SUFFRAGETTE ST. in
SOUTHSTONE. It is a large studio with multiple floors
catering to an entire production team.
He walks in through the door, inside there are a group of
people sat next to desks. There is also a group of writers
having a conference in an office at the end of the hall.
ELLIOTT gets to his desk and sits, sighing. He begins to rub
his head.
ELLIOTT opens his computer and inserts his flash drive. He
starts looking at a list of notes next to him.) He begins
typing, shaking his head and blinking frequently. He doesnt
notice his boss, MICHAEL walk up behind him until MICHAEL
clears his throat. This causes ELLIOTT to jump, then turn,
looking only slightly relieved when he notices who it is.
MICHAEL is older, in his late fifties, with grey hair and
dresses very formally in a suit and tie.
ELLIOTT
Uh... hello. You startled me.
ELLIOTT nervously laughs. Michael keeps the same stoic
expression.
ELLIOTT (CONTD)
What can I help you with?
MICHAEL
Well thats thing, we urgently need
the outline for
As MICHAEL speaks, ELLIOTT shrinks a little and scoots his
chair over a bit to block the computer screen. MICHAEL
notices this, and his frown deepens.
ELLIOTT
Im just putting some final touches
on it you know, I want to get the
plot twist just right and I think
I've nearly got it
At this point ELLIOTT is rambling and MICHAEL looks very
angry.
Elliott...

MICHAEL

6.

ELLIOTT
Ill have it done by tonight. I
promise!
MICHAEL sighs, and runs his hand over his head. After a
moment he finally nods. He turns and walks back to his
office. As he walks away ELLIOTT turns to his computer and
begins typing FURIOUSLY. As soon as he sees MICHAEL enter his
office, he stops typing and begins staring at the window.
MICHAEL sees him do this, and turns away, shaking his head.
CUT TO:
A shot of a CLOCK appears showing time rapidly descending.
7. INT. HOLLYWOOD CAFE - AFTERNOON
LONG SHOT of ELLIOTT WALKING INSIDE
ELLIOTT walks to a nearby cafe, and goes inside, a bell on
the door jingling. He looks around for a moment and then
spots Elena, who is sitting at a back table. Elena is a 23
year old libarian. She has red hair and glasses and is
wearing a blue coat. She waves, and he smiles. He walks over
and sits down, shrugging out of his jacket.
Hey.

ELENA

ELLIOTT
Hey, EL. How was work?
ELENA
Oh god, it was so boring today.
(Rolls her eyes) You look pretty
tired today, did you get enough
sleep? (Sips her drink)
ELLIOTT
Uh, not really. But I had this
really weird dreamELENA
(INTERRUPTING)
-I knew it. Youve been drinking
all week, you know thats not good
for you.. especially mixed in with
your medication!

7.
ELLIOTT
Yeah but this didnt feel like a
normal dream, it was like (Changing
the subject) Er- Have you ever
noticed all those
cameras?
ELENA opens her eyes wide for a second, than laughs.
ELENA
Huh? What are you talking about?
ELLIOTT
Well, at work, there was a camera
on the building. I dont think Ive
seen it before. And then I kept
finding other ones.
ELLIOTT points to a camera across the street that is pointed
at the cafe window.
ELLIOTT (CONTD)
Theres another one, cant you see
it?
ELENA
Um.. Theres nothing there.
Are you trying to make jokes?
As it becomes obvious ELENA cant see the camera, ELLIOTT
begins to look frustrated.
ELLIOTT
Its right there, Elena!
Put your glasses on if you have to,
its there!
ELENA puts her hand on her forehead in exasperation.
ELENA
Just give this up, ELLIOTT. It
isnt funny anymore.
ELLIOTT crosses his arms and sits back, looking out the
window. Elena can tell hes upset and leans forward, trying
to calm him down.
ELENA (CONTD)
Do you want something to drink, a
cup of tea maybe?
ELENA SMILES, trying to make him feel better. ELLIOTT nods,
and manages a small smile.

8.
ELENA takes that as a sign that everythings back to normal,
and gets up. She walks over to the counter to get some TEA.
While she is at the counter, ELLIOTT FROWNS at the CAMERA
across the street. He stares into it for a moment. Then, it
slowly moves, pointing to the crosswalk. ELLIOTTS eyes
WIDEN. Right after this happens, ELENA puts his tea down in
front of him, and sits down again, this time in the chair
next to him, leaning against him slightly.
ELENA (CONTD)
Hows it going in the News studio,
anyway? I know
ELLIOTT sips his tea, and diverts his vision back towards
ELENA.
ELLIOTT
..Er, Pretty well
is being a bit of
I just want it to
hes more worried

I guess. My boss
a prick about it.
be perfect, but
about the

ELENA
Well, time is important when youre
making a show.
ELLIOTT sighs.
ELLIOTT
I know. I told him Id have it done
by tonight, but I dont think he
believed me.
Elena sympathetically puts her hand on his arm.
ELENA
Hey, itll be fine, im sure you
can finish it by then.
Elliott turns towards Elena, and smiles.
ELLIOTT
I know. Thanks.
Elena smiles back, and hugs him. Elliott relaxes for a
moment, and lets his gaze wander around the cafe, drinking
his tea. Suddenly, he spots a red light blinking from the
right corner in front of him, near the ceiling.
The camera cuts to an EXTREME LONG SHOT of a blurry RED LIGHT
He squints, trying to make out what it is.

9.
As he is doing this, ELENA is also drinking her tea, happily
looking out the window, taking no notice of ELLIOTT. He
realises that he is looking at a small CAMERA, partially
hidden behind the wall. He stiffens. ELENA turns with a
confused look on her face, and sees ELLIOTT, still staring at
the corner.
Elliott?

ELENA

She looks in the direction he is staring, sees nothing, and

then looks back at him, slightly worried.
Hey..

ELENA (CONTD)

She nudges him.

ELENA (CONTD)
Are you okay? Elliott?
She nudges him again, a bit more forcefully this time,
causing some of Elliotts tea to splash onto his shirt. This
breaks Elliotts concentration, and he blankly looks at the
wet spot, then back at Elena.
ELENA (CONTD)
Oh, I'm sorry!
Elliott doesnt say anything. Elena hands him a napkin, which
he takes. He begins to dab at his shirt. He then quickly
stands, which startles Elena.
ELLIOTT
We should go.
ELENA
But we havent eaten yet-?
ELLIOTT
We can get something on the way
back.
He quickly puts on his jacket and grabs his things, and
begins to walk out. ELENA stares after him for a moment, then
gets up, pushes her chair in, and hurries after him. She
catches up to him as he reaches the door, and pulls on his
sleeve, forcing him to turn towards her.
ELENA
Whats gotten in to you? Elliott?!

10.
ELLIOTT looks around nervously, turning back to look at the
camera. ELENA looks at him expectantly. He leans closer to
whisper in her ear.
ELLIOTT
Look, Ill tell you in a minute,
okay? Just not in here.
ELENA leans away from him, frustrated.
ELENA
Why not in here?
As ELENA speaks, ELLIOTT tries to cover her mouth to quiet
her, but she pushes his hand away, still upset.
ELLIOTT
El, please, lets just go outside.
ELENA frowns at him. She opens her mouth to say something,
then changes her mind, pushing past ELLIOTT and exiting the
cafe.
8. EXT. CAFE ENTRANCE - AFTERNOON
At the edge of the pavement, she turns, waiting for ELLIOTT
to catch up. When he is standing in front of her, she tilts
her head.
ELENA
Well? (Impatiently)
ELLIOTT looks around, making sure the camera across the
street is still pointed at the crosswalk. When he is sure
its not pointed in their direction, he steps closer to
ELENA.
ELLIOTT
There was a camera watching usELENA
-Elliott, for gods sake, it was
probably just a surveillance camera
or something! Theyre everywhere!
ELLIOTT
But Ive never seen one in there
before.

11.
He pauses, looking up inquisitively.
ELLIOTT (CONTD)
At least... I dont think I have.
ELENA rolls her eyes.
ELENA
So? They might have just put it in.
ELLIOTT
I suppose...
ELENA rolls her eyes again, then sweetly smiles at ELLIOTT,
adjusting his jacket.
ELENA
You need to stop being so paranoid,
Its not good for you!
ELLIOTT tries to smile back, but ELENA doesnt really notice.
ELENA (CONTD)
Not everything needs to be a bloody
conspiracy!
ELLIOTT
Elena please..
ELENA
I hope you took your medication
today, youve been acting weird all
dayAs ELENA speaks, she turns to face the street and begins to
cross.
ELLIOTT
Hey dont cross!
ELLIOTT suddenly becomes frightened looking over at the
nearby traffic light, which is red. There arent any cars on
the street, only a few people walking by on the pavement.
Then ELLIOTT notices the camera is now pointing at ELENA. He
steps forward as he shouts.
ELLIOTT
(SHOUTING)
ELENA!!
ELENA turns to face ELLIOTT, looking confused. She is only a
couple feet into the street. As she turns, a car comes into
view at the edge of ELLIOTTS peripheral vision. It is
speeding, and headed straight for ELENAs path.

12.

ELLIOTT runs forward towards ELENA, who still hasnt noticed

the car. He grabs her arm as she turns and sees the car. Her
eyes widen in shock. ELLIOTT pulls her back towards him, the
force of it knocking him backwards onto the pavement, ELENA
falling on top of him. The car speeds past, veering wildly to
the left, turning the corner and disappearing. She begins to
stand, her hands shaking a bit. She looks over at ELLIOTT,
who is staring at the camera.
ELENA
Are y-you alright?
Elliott doesnt answer at first, still staring at the camera.
As he watches, the camera slowly turns away again, pointing
once more at the crosswalk.
ELLIOTT
Were you watching that?
What?

ELENA

ELLIOTT turns to Elena, and stands, helping her up.

ELLIOTT
..Nothing.
ELENA looks in the direction the car went, and shivers.
ELENA
That was bloody close! He came out
of nowhere!
ELLIOTT takes ELENAS hand.
ELLIOTT
Well, hes gone now.
With his other hand, he brushes some dirt off his jacket,
then turns, staring at the camera again. It is still
innocently pointed at the crosswalk. Elena moves closer to
him.
ELENA
Well, should we go get something to
eat? I have a few minutes left.
ELLIOTT continues staring at the CAMERA hidden next to the
wall.
ELLIOTT
Uh, yeah. Yeah, im quite hungry.

13.
He looks away from the camera and grins at Elena. The two
cross the street quickly and walk to the left, out of the
shot.
FADE TO:

9. EXT. NETWORK STUDIOS - LATE AFTERNOON

ELENA and ELLIOTT are approaching the back entrance which
ELLIOTT tried to use earlier in the morning. As the two get
closer, ELLIOTT notices that the handle is fixed. He does a
double take, reaching out and turning it. ELENA notices his
confusion and laughs.
ELENA
Its just a door, Elliott.
ELLIOTT
Yeah, but it was broken this
morning, I had to go around to the
front.
ELENA
They must have fixed it pretty
quickly. I came in after you and it
was working fine then.
Elliott is still holding onto the door, looking confused.
Elena looks at him strangely, then shrugs it off.
ELENA
So um...are you going to open the
door?
ELLIOTT
..Oh yeah. Of course!
Elliott laughs nervously, and opens the door, gesturing Elena
through. After she enters the building, he follows, the door
shutting behind him.
10. INT. OFFICE: ELLIOTTS DESK - AFTERNOON
Elliott reaches his desk, and plugs in his flash drive,
opening his computer. He sits down, thinking. He starts to
type, but then stops. He pushes back his chair, pulling out
his waste bin. He pulls out the papers, finding nothing at
the bottom. He sets the bin down, looking around.

14.
He checks all his desk drawers and his pockets, but he cant
find the broken door handle from earlier. He slowly puts the
papers back in the waste bin, replacing it under his desk. He
moves his chair back up to his computer.
He rests his chin on his hands, staring at his computer
screen.
ELLIOTT
What the hell is going on?
FADE TO:
11. INT. ELLIOTTS DESK - EVENING
ELLIOTT is sitting at his desk, resting his head on his hands
and gazing off into space. After a moment, he begins typing.
After he writes a sentence or so, he pauses again. He looks
up, and notices his webcam light is blinking. He tries to
turn it off, but it keeps recording. He then takes a sticky
note from next to his computer, covering up the webcam.
As he is doing this, a coworker, TIM, walks up behind him,
holding a mug. TIM is ELLIOTTS age, tall, with blonde hair
and a wide smile, wearing a loud ORANGE jumper over his dress
shirt.
TIM
So how are you getting on with the
script, ELLIOTT?
Elliott jumps, knocking against his desk, causing a pen to
fall off and roll away. He looks behind him, and sees that
its Tim. He lets out a deep breath and moves back in his
chair, bending down to pick up his pen.
ELLIOTT
Jesus, Tim. Dont do that.
TIM
(LAUGHS) I cant help it if you
scare easily!
Tim gestures towards the sticky note on Elliotts computer.
TIM (CONTD)
Whats that for then, eh?
ELLIOTT
Oh, my webcam wont turn off.
TIM laughs again.

15.

TIM
What, you think someone might be
watching you?
ELLIOTT
(RAISES VOICE) -NO!!
Tim looks a bit taken aback.
ELLIOTT (CONTD)
The light was annoying me, thats
all.
TIM obviously doesnt quite believe ELLIOTT, but doesnt
press him. He looks around awkwardly for a moment before
deciding on a new conversation.
TIM
So, I saw MICHAEL over here
earlier. What did he want?
ELLIOTT jumps on this new topic eagerly.
ELLIOTT
Oh just his usual, Im your boss,
now do as I say thing. Heh.
TIM nods and laughs, getting more comfortable, setting his
mug down and leaning against ELLIOTTS desk.
TIM
Yeah, I know. I heard he might be
leaving in a few months.
Leaving?

ELLIOTT

TIM
Yeah. Apparently hes up for a
promotion and hes pretty confident
hell get it.
As TIM is talking, ELLIOTT gets a strange look on his face,
then looks across the room towards MICHAELS office.
TIM (CONTD)
Hes not in there, no worries.
ELLIOTT still has a strange look on his face, and pulls his
flash drive out of the computer.

16.
TIM (CONTD)
Hey, whats wrong?
ELLIOTT
(WHISPERED) Im getting fired.
TIM
W-what did you just say?
ELLIOTT quickly gets up and begins to pack all of his things
together.
ELLIOTT
You heard me. Im fired.
TIM stares at him with a look of bewilderment.
Um..

TIM

TIM looks confused for a moment, then starts laughing,

lightly punching ELLIOTTS shoulder.
TIM (CONTD)
Very funny, Elliott! You nearly had
me for a minute.
ELLIOTT ignores TIM, putting all his things in a canvas bag.
As he continues to pack them, TIM stops laughing and just
watches ELLIOTT for a moment. After about ten seconds, he
speaks, stepping closer to ELLIOTT.
TIM (CONTD)
You cant be serious, Elliott. How
on earth would you know that?
ELLIOTT
I can sense it.
TIM
Just because you got talked to?
Shit, Mikes talked to me more than
once, and Im still here!
TIMs reassurance isnt swaying ELLIOTT. As he finishes
packing his bag, he stands, making TIM step back. ELLIOTT
leaves his laptop open. TIM picks his mug back up from
ELLIOTTs desk. ELLIOTT turns to leave, then notices MICHAEL,
who is walking over. ELLIOTT walks up to MICHAEL, who looks
confused.
ELLIOTT
I know, Im fired.

17.
As ELLIOTT says his line, MICHAEL looks shocked, and looks
over at TIM, who is watching everything with wide eyes. He
looks back at ELLIOTT. He begins to speak, but ELLIOTT gives
him a small salute and walks past him, walking out the door.
MICHAEL just stands there, dumbfounded. TIM walks over to
MICHAEL, still staring towards the door.
MICHAEL
Did you tell him?
TIM
Tell him what?
MICHAEL
So, he really didnt know?
TIM
Wait. So you actually were going
planning to fire him?
MICHAEL
..How the hell did he know?
Tim shrugs as Michael turns to face the same way Tim is
staring.
TIM
He just.. knew.
MICHAEL
Oh, for fucks sake! He wasnt
supposed to know beforehand!
CLOSE UP of the two men staring towards the door.
CUT TO ELLIOTTs webcam view, blocked by the sticky note.
After a few seconds, it turns off, blacking out the screen.
12. EXT. LONDON STREET REBEL ROAD - EVENING
Elliott walks out of the front doors, carrying his bag over
his shoulder. ELENA is standing a few feet in front of him,
her back to him, playing on her phone. Elliott walks over to
her, and taps her on the shoulder. She turns and smiles when
she recognises him, then she looks somewhat concerned,
noticing his canvas bag.
ELENA
Wait, youre not supposed to leave
for another hour, right?
ELLIOTT shifts around uncomfortably, looking away from ELENA.

18.
ELLIOTT
Something happened..
ELENA realises what he means and hugs him. ELLIOTT awkwardly
hugs her back, trying not to hit her with his bag. ELENA
pulls away and squeezes his hand sympathetically.
ELENA
Oh Elliott. Im so sorry.
ELLIOTT shrugs.
ELLIOTT
Its fine.
ELENA sighs, then looks up at ELLIOTT.
ELENA
Do you want me to come over
tonight?
ELLIOTT looks down at ELENA, and nods.
ELLIOTT
Yeah, I'd like that.
Elena smiles back, and they both turn outwards towards the
street.
ELENA
We can do some job hunting for you
tomorrow, okay?
ELLIOTT sighs unenthusiastically.
ELLIOTT
Yeah, sounds good.
The two stand there for a moment, then a cab pulls up to the
curb. ELENA begins to walk towards it, waving with her free
hand. She turns towards him.
ELENA
Cmon, weve been through worse
than this.
ELLIOTT nods in agreement.
ELLIOTT follows her, and they both get into the cab. The cab
drives off. As it does, a camera on a nearby lamp post tracks
it, panning with it as it drives away.

19.
13. INT. ELLIOTT'S HOUSE, MORNING
ELLIOTT and ELENA are both sitting in Elliott's living room.
Elena is on her laptop, and ELLIOTT is flipping through a
newspaper. They are both dressed, and seated on opposite ends
of the sofa.
ELENA
What about this one?
She points at the screen, turning it so ELLIOTT can see. He
leans in so he can see better, squinting and pushing his
glasses up.
ELLIOTT
Eh, I guess. Ill send my CV in.
ELENA
Good, so that's five places
already. You'll have a new job in
no time!
ELLIOTT shrugs nonchalantly, and continues idly flipping
through the newspaper. ELENA rolls her eyes and smiles,
reaching over to gently nudge ELLIOTT.
ELENA
Hey. Its all going to work out,
you know.
ELLIOTT turns towards ELENA.
ELLIOTT
I know. Thanks.
ELENA smiles, then reaches to grab her phone off the table.
She looks at the time and begins to quickly get all her
things together.
ELENA
Ive got to go! I didnt realise
how late it was getting.
ELENA walks over to ELLIOTT, and gives him a kiss goodbye.
ELENA
You should go out and turn in some
applications, dont just sit around
and mope all day.
ELLIOTT
I will, dont worry.

20.
ELENA musses up ELLIOTTs hair, then walks out the front
door, turning to wave before shutting the door behind her.
ELLIOTT turns and waves as she leaves.
Bye!

ELLIOTT

As soon as ELENA shuts the door behind her, ELLIOTT turns

back to his newspaper. He circles a couple more ads, then
adds them to a piece of paper, on which he has written all
the places he could apply. He stares at the paper for a
moment, then tosses it onto the table in front of him and
leans forward to grab his T.V. remote. He then leans back,
getting into a more comfortable position.
He pushes up his glasses, and then turns on the television.
He flips through the channels quickly, and then gets to the
local news channel. They are doing a story outside the local,
Bewley Brothers law offices on Diamond Street, a block or so
away from CTN Network Studios.
There is a journalist standing outside the office building
talking. ELLIOTT stares uneasily at the television for a
moment, the shot on the television flickers briefly, changing
to the same scene, except now the Bewley Brothers building is
on fire. ELLIOTTs eyes widen and he quickly changes the
channel to a cooking show.
He thinks for a moment, and then flips back to the news
channel. The scene has returned to normal, no fires. ELLIOTT
still looks troubled, however. He turns the television off
and stands quickly, grabbing his jacket. He puts it on and
leaves the house, locking the door behind him.
14. EXT. ELLIOTTS HOUSE - MORNING
ELLIOTT walks away from his house, pulling his jacket tighter
around him. He looks behind him once, then continues walking
into town.
15. EXT. LONDON STREET - DIAMOND ST. - DAY
ELLIOTT approaches the Bewley Brothers building, slowing down
and stopping in the middle of the pavement directly in front
of the front doors. The reporter is gone, and there are only
a few people walking past, some turning to look curiously at
ELLIOTT. He stands there, staring up at the building.
Everything appears to be normal.

21.
Suddenly, ELLIOTTs vision changes, and he once again sees
the same building burning. He jumps back, and closes his
eyes, and opens them. He still sees the burning version of
the building. He looks around, panicked. Everyone else is
fine, walking along like nothing is happening. ELLIOTT grabs
a man by the arm and pulls at him frantically, gesturing
towards the Bewley Brothers Law Firm. The man is around mid
thirties, carrying a briefcase.
He is on his mobile phone, and drops it when ELLIOTT pulls at
him.
MAN
What the hell?
He bends down to pick up his phone, making sure it isnt
cracked. When he sees that it didnt, he returns it to his
pocket.
ELLIOTT
Do you see that?
The man looks at the building, then back at Elliott. He
slowly removes his arm from ELLIOTTs grasp, and takes a step
back, staring at ELLIOTT.
MAN
Ywot mate? Its just a bloody
building!
ELLIOTT looks at the building, then back at the man. He
realises no one else can see the fire. He begins to back away
from the man, alternating looking at the man and the
building. Finally, he stops.
ELLIOTT
Erm, sorry mate, im fine. I think
I was imagining something..
The man backs away a little more, and is still watching
ELLIOTT carefully, almost with fear. He still has a look of
confusion on his face. ELLIOTT takes one last look at the
building and then turns, running in the direction of the news
studio. The man takes a step towards ELLIOTT.
MAN
Hey! (SHOUTING)
ELLIOTT doesnt stop, he continues to run, turning right at
the street corner, and continuing out of shot.
We cut back to the man, who is still staring after ELLIOTT.

22.
A camera is on the building behind him, and is turned the
same way, watching ELLIOTTs movement.

16. INT. - ELLIOTS LIVING ROOM - DAY
The audience hears the sound of computer KEYBOARD CLACKING
CUT TO:
ELLIOTT and ELENA are sat on a couch in the living room of
the house. ELENA is reading the newspaper trying to job hunt
for ELLIOTT, who is typing on the computer.
ELLIOTT sighs.
ELLIOTT
It feels like were getting
absolutely nowhere with this job
hunting thing. Weve been searching
all night for something promising
to come up. But we still cant find
anything remotely decent, let alone
local.
ELENA
Dont get discouraged, well find
something.. I-I know we will.
ELLIOTT
You dont know that, this could
take months.
ELENA
Well find you a job, stop worrying
ELLIOTT
Well it feels like a miracle needs
to happen for that to be the case.
ELENA
Well being miserable isnt gonna
get you anywhere. Besides you did
walk out kind of abruptly..
ELLIOTT rolls his eyes.
ELLIOTT
Look I'm not being miserable, I
could sense myself getting fired.
This wasnt intuition, I... I just
knew.

23.
ELENA turns towards ELLIOTT and hugs him, resting her head on
his shoulder.
ELENA
I know, I get it. You were just
acting different yesterday.
ELLIOTT sits up, wiping his eyes.
ELLIOTT
It feels like you still dont
understand where I'm coming from.
ELENA
I understand youre not thinking
straight.. Youve seemed really
distant recently.
ELLIOTT
Everythings felt different since
then. I feel this weird sense of
dread everywhere I go now.
ELENA
Thats exactly what I mean,
youve got to get out of this mindset, Its driving you crazy!
ELLIOTT draws a deep breath and sighs. He gets off the couch
and paces quickly towards the kitchen.
ELLIOTT
Im gonna make some coffee, do
you want anything?
ELENA
Elliott, I'm worried about you.
Please, please, dont do anything
irrational.
ELLIOTT gives a look of CONFUSION.
ELLIOTT
What are you talking about? Im
only getting some coffee!
Elliott proceeds to go into the kitchen.
Elena stands up and walks in with him.
17. INT - ELLIOTTS KITCHEN - DAY

24.
ELENA
Im constantly afraid youre going
to do something crazy.
ELLIOTT
El, can we just drop this? Youre
really not helping my situation.
ELLIOTT sighs in FRUSTRATION.
ELENA
Its only a situation because
youve
made it a situation.
ELLIOTT slams forcefully on the kitchen counter.
ELLIOTT
Give me a goddamn break for
gods sake!
ELENA shakes with fright for a second. ELLIOTT quickly reacts
by dropping his angry stance and walking up to her. ELENA
moves her body away from him as he tries to hug her.
ELLIOTT (CONTD)
Elena, I'm so sorry. Im just a bit
stressed out right now.
ELENA
You and me both.
ELLIOTT slowly sinks down towards the floor. Until he is sat
cross-legged with his head in his hands.
ELLIOTT
Its getting worse.. in a second,
im certain youre going to get
called into work early..
ELENA looks at him in bewilderment.
ELENA
Er, what are you talking about? Im
not going in until later.
Suddenly, ELENA gets a call on her phone. She goes to the
counter and picks it up. Its her boss SAMANTHA.
SAMANTHA
Elena, is that you? Im really
sorry about this but were really
short staffed today. We need you to
come in, its quite urgent.

25.
ELENA opens her eyes widely, and gives a confused look
towards ELLIOTT. Who slowly stands up from the floor.
ELENA
Uh.. yeah, I-I guess.. ill come in
as soon as possible.
SAMANTHA
Thank you so much, Miss Smith.
*CLICK*
ELENA hangs up. *CLICK* She looks at ELLIOTT in shock.
ELENA
How did you.. How did you know?
ELLIOTT
Im not being paranoid. I can sense
when certain things are happening.
ELENA
What do you mean.. Certain things?
ELLIOTT
It doesnt always work. But I can
sense when things are going to
happen. Sometime dangerous
things.
ELENA laughs nervously.
ELENA
Hey, you dont really think
somethings gonna happen at work do
you?
ELLIOTT
I dont know. Its not clear to me
exactly.. But, just be careful!
ELENA looks at her WATCH, noting that it is now 10AM.
ELENA
Hmm, I guess I'd better go now.
Ill see you later on baby.
ELLIOTT looks at her anxiously.
ELLIOTT
Okay, but keep me posted if
anything happens. Please!

26.
ELENA (CONT'D)
ELENA
I will, I promise. Stop worrying so
much.
ELLIOTT
Ill try not too.
ELENA
Dont forget to take your
medication today.
ELLIOTT
Oh shit. I forgot, sorry..
ELENA
Oh for gods sake Elliott, you know
how important it is that you keep
taking it!
ELLIOTT
I know, I know. Im sorry!
ELENA
I have to go now, but were not
done here.. Take your medication or
these superstitions of yours will
only get worse!
ELLIOTT:
Elena, wait!*SLAM* ELENA walks out the door, with ELLIOTT standing near
the doorway. We move away from him and through the window,
out onto the streets below. Across from his house is a bridge
leading underground. The camera follows down the side of the
entrance.
18. EXT. LONDON STREET- BRIDGE ST. - DAY
We see two surveillance camera installers holding down a
ladder, ROBERT is installing a small camera onto the wall
while JEFF watches.
JEFF
Should be done with this soon I
think!
ROBERT
I wouldnt count yourself so lucky,
the guy wanted us to install them
all around the town. Apparently
hes got other people doing the
same thing!

27.
JEFF
I dont understand though, this is
one of most crime free cities
around!
ROBERT finishes installing and steps down off the ladder.
ROBERT
Yeah, but the guy who wanted the
installation seemed all kinds of
shady..
JEFF
-How come he didnt give you a
name?
ROBERT
Thats the thing, he said hed pay
extra if no questions were asked..
Says it all really.
JEFF
Bloody hell. Well hopefully no
police come crawling around.
ROBERT
Well be fine. Just dont say
anything to anyone about this..
The two of them walk away as we follow through the camera and
see a Flash-Forward vision of the next episode.
CUT TO:
19. EXT. - BEWLEY BROTHERS LAW FIRM, BUILDING ENTRANCE EVENING (A FEW HOURS LATER)
