THIS SITE THIS IS ONLY FOR THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT

Once you access the TrackWrestling website, log into the event by clicking on Manage
Click Tournaments
Click [Search] and enter upper perk in the event name field then press enter
Click on Upper Perk Braves Tournament (2/20/16)
Select your user type as Tournament Worker
Enter your user name and password. Click [Enter Tournament]. You are now in the Upper
Perk tournament on Track Wrestling.
To get a basic tutorial on certain steps of the process, you can click on the To Do List
and click on any of the topics to view instructions and videos. Please DO NOT check any
of the check boxes. Certain ones are unchecked because they need to be completed by
the tournament director.
The fields that you will need to know are: Perform registration (entering wrestlers
weights) and Enter bout Results.

Entering OPEN Wrestlers Weights (Cynthia, Kristy, Brian, and Jeremy)


A hand written weigh-in sheet will be provided by the tournament director. Enter all
wrestler weights using a double check system to ensure data gets entered correctly.
1. Click on the Registration menu and Weigh-ins.
2. Enter part of the wrestlers name then click [GO]
3. If more than one wrestler appears, click on the appropriate wrestler name.
4. Enter the wrestlers actual weight in the Actual weight field
a. NOTE: Each wrestler has a .2 allowance. If their weight exceeds the weight
class, notify the tournament director immediately.
i. Weight class changes are only allowed after the Thursday weigh-in
ii. No weight changes after Thursday, which means that wrestler must
lose the appropriate weight and weigh in another time to be eligible
to wrestle.
5. Press [Save Participant]
6. On the hand written weigh-in sheet, place a check next to the wrestlers name who
was just entered. Continue entering wrestler weights until all wrestler weights are
entered.
7. Return the hand written weigh-in sheet to the tournament director (or helper).
8. Tournament director or helper (not the person who entered weights) must double
check all weights were entered correctly (follow step 1 above).

Scratching Wrestlers / Deleting OPEN No Shows (Brian, Jeremy)


Check-in will end at 7:15am for NOVICE and weigh-ins will complete at 9:00am for OPEN.
Those wrestlers not checked-in (NOVICE ONLY) or not weighed-in (OPEN ONLY) will be
scratched from the tournament.
To scratch a NOVICE wrestler (or a sick OPEN wrestler):
1. Click on Left menu then Participants
2. Select Search from the pull-down and click [Invoke Operation].
3. Enter the first few characters of the wrestlers last name in the Last name field
and hit enter.
4. Select the appropriate wrestler by clicking on his/her name.
5. On the next window, click [Delete Participant] and enter delete in the pop-up
window.
6. On the next window all changes should remain:
a. Change bracket type if needed YES

b. Replace wrestler with BYE


c. Redraw NOBODY
d. Shift NOBODY
7. Click [Finish] then type finish in the pop-up
***There is no check-in for the OPEN. However, they must weigh-in. To view how many
did not weigh-in:
1. Click on Left menu then Participants
2. Click the Weight column header, and then click it again. This will bring all the
wrestlers that did not weigh-in to the top. That will allow you to see if the number
of no-shows look reasonable.
By 9:00am - Tournament director should be the only one to delete no shows:
3. Use the drop down box and select [Delete No Shows].
4. Click [Invoke Operation]
5. Select the divisions you would like to delete the no-shows from and click [Remove].
NOVICE Preparation to start Tournament (Brian)
After wrestlers are scratched, scan weight classes to ensure there are a minimum of
three (3) wrestlers per weight class.
1. Left Menu Groups/Divisions
2. Check each division & weight class. Combine those that can be combined (only
Administrator can) or move a wrestler to a different weight class.
3. Once all have a minimum of (3) wrestlers Build Brackets
a. Bracketing Assign Bracket to Weight Classes
i. Check-off all Novice then [Assign Bracket Types]
b. Bracketing - Build / Delete Brackets
i. Check-off all Novice then [Build Brackets]
4. Assign Weights to Mat
a. Left Menu Mats Assign Mats
b. Filter Mat 5 & 6 Morning with Novice Pee Wee [Apply Filter Below]
c. Click [Save All]
d. Filter Mats 1 4 Morning with Novice Bantam & Midget [Apply Filter Below]
e. Click [Save All]
f.

Filter Mat 1-6 Morning [Apply Filter Below]

g. Readjust/balance mat hours by shifting weight classes left or right

h. Find Bryce Holsinger Group/Division and move onto Mat 1 (Bantam K and
Pee Wee A)
i.

Click [Save All]

5. Apply number schemes


a. Set-up Number Schemes Click [Apply Selected Schemes]
b. When pop-up appears keep Leave frozen status [Continue]
6. Print Brackets
a. Operating Printing Brackets
b. [Select All] for Novice groups
c. [Print]
d. Right click on bracket Print
i. Printer Brother HL-L2340D
ii. Landscape (Note: All 6 man round robins will need to be printed
Portrait)
iii. Minimum Margins
iv. Uncheck Headers/Footers
v. Print
7. Hand brackets to Bout sheet runner / Bracket postings person to post on wall
8. Inform communications (Rob C) to clear mats
9. Rob to make announcements
10.Print Bout Sheets
a. Operating Printing Bout sheets
b. Filter NOVICE Select All check box [Print Selected Bouts] [Print]
i. Right Click Print
ii. At times it does not give the option to select portrait, so select
[Cancel] and try again.
11.Distribute bout sheets to each table (give to bout sheet runner if he/she is back
from posting brackets)
12.Announce to Rob ready for National Anthem.
13.Start wrestling at 8:00

Entering Bout Results (Cynthia, Kristy, and back-up Brian & Jeremy)
Winning wrestler will bring bout sheet to head table. Bout sheet runner to hand sheets to
data entry or pull from bin on table.

1. Click on Operating then Bout Entry


2. From the returned bout sheets, select the weight class from the pull-down Select
a Weight Class
3. Enter the Bout # in the Bout # field then hit enter on the keyboard or click [GO]
4. Ensure the correct bout appears and
a. Select the winner from the pull down
b. Select the win type from the pull down
i. DECISION is when the point spread between the wrestlers is 7 or less
points
ii. MAJOR DECISION is when the point spread between the wrestlers is 814 points
iii. TECHNICAL FALL is when the point spread between the wrestlers is 15
points or more
iv. FALL is also known as a PIN
c. If a FALL, enter the time
5. Click [SAVE]
** A way to view the bracket and enter bouts from the same weight class (not
recommended)
1. Click on Operating then Bout Entry
2. From the returned bout sheets, select the weight class from the pull-down Select
a Weight Class
3. Click on Bracket, then on the next pop-up window click [View Bracket]
4. The entire bracket is now viewable and you can click on any of the bout numbers
that you wish to enter or modify.
5. Follow steps 4-5 above

NOVICE Printing completed brackets (Cynthia, Kristy, and as needed Brian


and Jeremy)
Printing of brackets for the NOVICE group will only occur once a weight class completes
all of its bouts.
After bout is entered for a weight class and round is complete, you will receive a pop-up
window informing you all bouts are completed for the round. Click [OK].
If the entire weight class bracket is complete, you will receive a message All scheduled
bouts for this weight class have been completed. Once you receive the message that a
bracket in the NOVICE division is complete:
1. Click on Bracket, then on the next pop-up window click [View Bracket]
2. All bouts will show complete and the rankings will be completed

3. Print (2) two completed brackets for award distribution


a. Right click on bracket and select Print from the selections
b. Set layout for Landscape (unless a 6 man RR go portrait because it may
not fit on one page)
c. Change Copies to (2) and click print
4. Notify tournament director or communications (Rob C) the bracket is complete so
awards can be distributed. If neither people are available, obtain microphone and
announce the weight class is complete and awards can be obtained in the
cafeteria.
5. Immediately hand (2) two copies of completed bracket to bout sheet runner.
6. Check off on printed list that awards were announced for that particular weight
class.
7. Repeat until all brackets are printed for awards.
To review the flow of progress, Click on Operating then Bout Schedule.
1. Look for those highlighted green and check to see if brackets are complete.

OPEN Preparation to start Tournament (Start around 10:00) (Brian)


After wrestlers are scratched and all weights are entered, scan weight classes to
ensure there are a minimum of three (3) wrestlers per weight class. Prefer 6 wrestlers to
have no round robins.
1. Left Menu Groups/Divisions
2. Check each division & weight class. Combine those that can be combined (only
Administrator can).
a. If combining weight class, change name to reflect range of weights (ex. 4548)
3. Once all have a minimum of (3) wrestlers and no more than (16) Build Brackets
a. Make sure no more than 40 open brackets (based on trophies)
b. Bracketing Assign Brackets to Weight Classes
i. Check-off all Open then [Assign Bracket Types]
4. Left menu - Groups/Divisions
i. Change all 6 man round robins to 8 man WB-3 rd Place
5. Seeding Bracketing Seeding
a. Check each open group
b. Click here to seed wrestlers using the points entered in the extra field.
c. Bracketing - Build / Delete Brackets
i. Check-off all Open

ii. Select from pull down used saved seeds


iii. [Build Brackets]
6. Assign Weights to Mat
a. Left Menu Mats Assign Mats
b. Filter Mats 2-4 Afternoon with all Junior and Junior High Open wrestlers
c. [Apply filter below]
d. Click [Save All]
e. Filter Mats 1,5, 6 Afternoon with all Bantam and Midget Open wrestlers
f.

[Apply filter below]

g. Click [Save All]


h. Filter Mats 1-6 afternoon w/ all groups
i.

[Apply filter below]

j.

Readjust/balance mat hours by shifting weight classes left or right


i. Move the following to Mat 1
1. Brandon - Midget 70
2. Brandon - Midget 64
3. Ben - Bantam 54
4. Gabe Midget 56
5. Kevin Junior 98

k. Once balanced Click [Save All]


7. Apply number schemes
a. Set-up Number Schemes Click [Apply Selected Schemes]
b. When pop-up appears keep Leave frozen status [Continue]

b. [Select All] for OPEN groups
c. [Print]
d. Right click on bracket Print
i. Printer Brother HL-L2340D

9. Hand brackets to Bout sheet runner / Bracket postings person to post on wall. Be
sure to notify runner that these are for the OPEN.
10.Rob C to announce around 11:15 that OPEN brackets are posted
11.Print Bout Sheets
a. Operating Printing Bout sheets
b. Filter OPEN Select All [Print Selected Bouts] [Print]
i. Right Click Print
ii. At times it does not give the option to select portrait, so select
[Cancel] and try again.
12.Distribute bout sheets ONLY to table where the NOVICE mat is complete (give to
bout sheet runner if he/she is back from posting brackets)
13.Announce to Rob ready for OPEN wrestling on each specific mat.

OPEN Printing Bout Sheets & Brackets (Jeremy and Brian)


Monitoring the brackets to ensure bouts are entered, brackets are complete, and awards
are distributed help the tournament run smoothly. Also, if a mat is complete and one is
falling behind, verbally notifying participants that a group of bouts are moving to another
mat.
To review the flow:
1. Click on Operating then Bout Schedule
a. Filter the OPEN to the left to narrow results
i. To select all, click Open Bantam - hold Shift on keyboard - select
Open Junior High
2. If a round is complete and ready for bout sheets to be printed, it will be highlighted
yellow.
a. If highlighted yellow, check each box next to the particular division
b. Click [Print Selected Bouts] Click [Print] Click [OK] to pop-up
i. Right Click Print
ii. Printer Brother HL-L2340D
iii. Layout Portrait
1. At times it does not give the option to select portrait, so select
[Cancel] and try again.
iv. Print
v. Close print window after printed successfully.
3. After bout sheets are printed, click [Print Brackets]
a. Select / Print only those weight classes in RED / BOLD text
i. Place a check mark next to the weight class Click [Print] - Click [OK]
to pop-up
ii. Right Click Print
1. Landscape (Note: All 6 man round robins will need to be printed
Portrait)
2. Minimum Margins
3. Uncheck Headers/Footers
4. Print
4. Gather bout sheets and brackets and give to bout sheet runner to distribute
a. NOTE: If a final round, coordinate distribution of bout sheets & brackets with
trophies
5. If final/completed bracket is a round robin (all places must be calculated)

a. Print (2) copies of final bracket to trophies to announce and distribute


trophies.
