Warning!
It is strongly recommended that the password for the user KUKASystem
should be changed. If the password is not changed, unauthorized persons
could gain access to the entire system with the aid of this documentation.
If the password is changed, the files StartKRC.kec and StartUtil.kec must be
adapted. In case of questions, please contact the KUKA Roboter GmbH.

The Windows user groups have nothing to do with the user groups in the
KSS. Both Windows user groups have access to all user groups in the KSS
(subject to entry of the correct password).

KUKA Utilities:
The KUKA Utilities in C:\KRC\UTIL can be executed by the Windows user
group Users via the file StartUtil.kec. The KUKA Utilities always run with administrator privileges.

Non-KUKA software:
Non-KUKA software always runs under the access rights of the user that is
currently logged on. It is also possible to start software with administrator privileges in the Windows user group Users.

1. Insert CD.
2. Select the menu sequence Setup > Install Additional Software.
3. Press the New SW softkey. If KRC Upgrade No-Admin is not yet displayed, press the Refresh softkey.
4. Select KRC Upgrade No-Admin and press the softkey Install. Answer the
request for confirmation with Yes. The files are copied onto the hard drive.
5. A reboot prompt is displayed. Confirm with OK and restart the robot controller. The installation is resumed and completed.

When KRC Upgrade No-Admin is installed, the KSS can only be started by the
Windows user group Users via the file StartKRC.kec.
The KSS always runs with administrator privileges.

1. Select the menu sequence Setup > Service > StartUtil. The KUKA StartUtil window is opened.

Description
Non-KUKA software always runs under the access rights of the user that is
currently logged on. It is also possible to start software with administrator privileges in the Windows user group Users.

1. Select the EXE file. Select Run As... from the context menu.
2. A window opens. Select the Following user box and enter the user name
and password of a Windows administrator.
3. Confirm with OK. The software is started with administrator privileges.
