Job Title: Facilities Staff


2 part-time positions (20-hrs/wk, non-exempt)

Montalvo Arts Center is seeking skilled and energetic members for our facilities team.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, these positions conduct day-to-day housekeeping,
grounds conditions and maintenance, and event support by performing the duties associated
with these tasks. One part-time position will focus on general facilities support; one part-time
position will focus on housekeeping duties in the Artist Residency complex.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


 Day to day duties include: janitorial, processing work orders, grounds keeping,
supporting events such as weddings, concerts, internal meetings, and corporate
events.
 Janitorial- Empties wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to disposal area, cleans
rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, offices
and other work areas
 Grounds- leaf blower, raking, power washing, emptying trash containers
 Events- reviews work order, completes set ups as described in the work order, works
with the event planner, tears down events, sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or
hall, transports small equipment or tools between departments.
 Facility Staff provides on-going contact with the on-site event managers or customer
contact during all events. Insure that all work orders are done on time and in a quality
manner.
 Maintains a professional demeanor and generates positive public relations with artists,
guests, vendors and staff. Attends Staff Meetings.
 Acts as point person for any emergency situation. Makes immediate decisions and
communicates with users of the facility and emergency personnel in an emergency
situation.
 Adheres to day-to-day operational policies and procedures.
 Notifies supervisor of building maintenance and grounds needs.
 Adheres to safety regulations. Acts as a member of the safety team insuring
compliance with our IIPP program.
 Perform other related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:


 Previous experience in facilities maintenance or housekeeping desirable. High School
diploma required.
 Familiarity with general maintenance, concession, & housekeeping equipment.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attentive to detail and accurate.
 Cooperative and willing to assist others.
 Ability to work evenings/weekends on a rotating basis with other team members.
 Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, under direct or indirect
supervision, and on specific time deadlines.
 Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record required.
 CPR/First Aid certification required within 60-days of hire.

Working Conditions & Physical Tasks:


Many job functions performed outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand;
walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is
occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move
up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Some local travel necessary; valid driver’s
license and access to own vehicle required. Position requires regular evening/weekend
availability. Background check required.

Salary: $13-15/hour, DOQ
