How do you conjugate verbs in the informal command form???

- Command form is used to tell someone what to do
- The affirmative informal (tú) commands are formed the same way as the present tense usted form.
Ej: Hablar - ____ar____ + ____a______ = habla
1. Compra (tú ) el anillo. Buy the ring. 2. Come la patata. Eat the potato

- The negative informal (tú) commands are formed by removing the ending and adding the
OPPOSITE tú verb ending. (For –AR, use –ER/-IR verb endings. For –ER/-IR use, -AR)
Ej: Hablar - ____ar____ + _____es______ = No hables
1. No camines. Do not walk. 2. No escribas. Do not write.
¡Práctica! – Translate the following commands.
1. Turn right. Dobla a la derecha. 5. Drive straight. Maneja derecho.
2. Do not turn right. No dobles a la derecha. 6. Do not drive straight. No manejes derecho.
3. Cross the street. Cruza la calla. 7. Take the bus. Toma el autobus.
4. Do not cross the street. No cruces la calle. 8. Do not take the bus. No tomes el autobus.
9. Stop at the bank and turn right. Para al banco y dobla a la izquierda.
