CLASSIFICATION OF HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS

CLASS 1: EXPLOSIVES

Examples: Trinitrotoluene (TNT), Research Department Explosives (RDX), Nitroglycerine


(NG), Fireworks, Gun Powder etc.
CLASS 2: GASES
Division 2.1 - Flammable gases

Examples: Hydrogen, Methane, Acetylene etc.


Division 2.2 - Non-flammable, non-toxic gases

Examples: Nitrogen, Compressed Air, Helium, Argon etc.

Division 2.3 - Toxic gases.

Examples: Carbon Monoxide, Chlorine, Phosgene, Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) etc.


CLASS 3: FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS

Examples: Gasoline, Naphtha, Kerosene, Diesel, Ether, Alcohol, Carbon Disulfide etc.
CLASS 4: FLAMMABLE SOLIDS

Examples: Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorous Powder etc.

CLASS 5: OXIDIZING SUBSTANCES

Examples: Ammonium Nitrate, Hydrogen Peroxide, Fluorine, Cumene Peroxide etc.


CLASS 6: TOXIC SUBSTANCES

Examples: Chlorine, Ammonia, Phenol etc.


CLASS 7: RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES

Examples: Uranium, Thorium, Plutonium, X-rays etc.


CLASS 8: CORROSIVE SUBSTANCES

Examples:
