Chapter 1 Introduction
Product Overview
ICOMM900 WiMAX 802.16e USB Dongle is an internet
access device. It is fully complied with Mobile WiMAX
Wave2 profile which is based on IEEE 802.16-2005
standard. ICOMM900 provides high-performance with
the lowest possible power consumption. It can be
utilized with any laptop/mobile handsets to connect with
the base station over a 2.5GHz to 2.69GHz wireless link.

Chapter 2 Installation
This chapter explains the procedure of installing ICOMM900 WiMAX 802.16e USB Dongle. ICOMM900 works with
Windows2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Please follow the steps below to complete ICOMM900 installation.

Step1: Insert product CD into your CD ROM drive. The setup program
will automatically run from the CD-ROM, and the Setup Utility
appears on the screen.

Step2: Start installation by clicking on Install BSNL WCM button.

Step3: Click Next to continue the Setup Wizard.

Step4: Select the installation path with Browse button and click
Install to start the installation.

Step5: Starting the installation.

Step6: Click Finish to complete the installation.

Step7: Plug ICOMM900 into the USB port of your PC/Laptop.

Step8: The Connection Manager Window will appear after you plug in
ICOMM900, and it will start BS scanning automatically.

Step9: The Connection Manager will display the massage, WiMAX
Connected, once your ICOMM900 is connected with a base
station successfully.
Now you can enjoy the high-speed wireless network!

Chapter 3 Connection Manager


Main Menu
The main menu presents the basic connection status.
Click Settings to configure the device settings.
Or click Status to view the device status.
Help button (?): Click the question mark at the top right corner
to view device user manual.
Minimize button (-): Click the minus mark at the top right
corner to minimize CM window.
Close button (X): Click the X mark at the top right corner to
close CM window.

Settings > Basic


Default Settings
Enabling the option Automatically Start CM When Device is
Plugged will launch WiMAX Connection Manager automatically
when ICOMM900 is plugged.
Enabling the option Automatically Connects When CM
Starts will allow ICOMM900 to connect to Base station
automatically when the connection manager is executed.
OK button: Click OK to apply the changes.

Cancel button: Click Cancel to cancel and close the setup


window.

Authentication
Select the suitable Authentication Method as suggested by
BSNL and enter the login credentials.
Enter the Realm provided by BSNL.

Do not change these settings unless BSNL has recommended doing so.

Display the current status of WiMAX connection.

Status > WiMAX


Display the usage information of current WiMAX connection.

State: Display the device condition.

Session Duration: The time since the establishment of


current connection.

Temperature: Display the device temperature.

Base Station ID: Unique ID of connected BS.

Center Frequency (KHz): Connected frequency.

Bandwidth (MHz): Bandwidth of connected channel

RSSI (dBm): Value of Receive Signal Strength.

CINR (dB): Measured value of Carrier to Interference and


Noise Ratio.

Tx Power (dBm): Transmitter output power.

Uplink Rate: Uplink data rate in Kbps.

Downlink Rate: Downlink data rate in Kbps.

Bytes Sent: Number of bytes that have been transmitted.

Bytes Received: Number of bytes that have been received.

Click Close to close the usage information window.

Select Status > Help > About Connection Manager to
display the version information of the connection manager.

viewing the version information.
