TyroneandIjustfinishedmeetingwithRobbieJones.Wejustwantedtotakeaminutetoreachoutandsaythat
wecanseehowmucheffortyouhaveputintotryingtoreachalevelofsavingsthatmatcheswhatthecouncil
proposedandworksbestforthecity.
Wealsowantedtosayhowmuchweappreciatethefurthercutsyou'vemadeandthetimeyou'vespent
reachingthispoint.
Wethinkthatsomeoftheadditionalcutsyou'veproposedwillhaveanadverseimpactontheCity.Fortunately,
itlookslikethetotalnumbersarecloseenoughnowthatwithsomeminorchangesweshouldbeabletomeet
ourreservefundrequirementwithoutmakingthesecuts.
Here'swhatwe'rethinking:1.)wedon'tmaketheadditionalcutsyou'velaidoutinparks,legal,Humanand
Culturalservices,municipalcourts,andpolicebeyondcouncil'srevisednumbers2.)wesplitthedifference
betweentheCouncil'srevisedproposalandyourmostrecentproposalinPublicWorks3.)fireremainswhat'sin
theCouncil'srevisedproposal(whichisstillanincreaseabovewhatthecouncilinitiallyproposed)4.)weleave
everythingelsethesameinyourmostrecentproposal.Thatleavesthefinaltotalsavingsatapprox$7.1
million.
Withtheincorporationofthesechanges,wefeelcomfortablethatwe'llhavereachedthebestpossiblebudgetfor
thecityinthesedifficultfinancialtimes.
