The Upside Down House in Sabah, an architectural wonder, is probably the
latest tourist attraction in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It is situated in Jalan Telibong,
Tamparuli and the journey there by road takes about 40 minutes from the capital
city.
The house was opened to the public in early February, 2012. Since then tourist
come from near and far to see the bizarre building with their own eyes.
Everything inside the house, from furniture to household appliances hover
above your head, as the ceiling is actually the floor. Fans, lamp and even lizard
(toy) are found next to our feet. In the garage, a car is parked upside down.
The Upside Down House is open daily including public holidays from 7.00 a.m.
to 7.00 p.m. The admission fee for foreign tourists is RM18.00 while Malaysians pay
only RM10.00. Students and children of between 3 - 12 years old pay RM5.00. Only a
small group of tourists is allowed to go in at a time.
Photo-taking inside the house is prohibited. There is a caf for visitors to enjoy
a meal, or an afternoon tea, and a gift shop to pick up some souvenirs. A visit to the
upside-down house is a must-see attraction on your itinerary. It is a lifelong
memorable experience. It is also the first of its kind in South East Asia.

Read the story below and answer the questions that follow.

One day, Jeffri brought his family great news. He was taking them to see a house.
His three children Ida, Adam and Ena were all excited with curiosity as they waited for
their parents to get ready.
The new place was in the outskirts of the city. When they arrived, an old tree with
its long drooping branches rustled its leaves at them. In the front garden were three
mango trees with low branches. The children rushed in to explore the house. The house
was huge with five rooms. It indeed fascinated them and was a welcome change from
their cramped 2-bedroom flat.
Adam, Ida and Ena were extremely happy that each of them would be given a
room. In the flat, the girls had to share a room while their brother had to sleep in the
living room. Ida announced that she would have matching curtains and bedspread in
her favourite shade of green. She also asked permission to keep a pet.
Their mother was thrilled to see a proper kitchen with ample space for a cooker
oven, refrigerator, built-in cabinets and a washing machine. There was also a backyard
for her to dry her clothes. Jeffri who had a windfall said he would create his rock
garden, complete with a fountain and many bonsai plants.
