Precalculus 97 (Second Semester)
Math Regents Exam Grades:
Algebra I = 86
Geometry = 87
Trigonometry/Algebra II = 93
Why are you asking me to write your recommendation?
I have had you as a teacher for the second time in three years, first as my Geometry
teacher and now as my Precalculus teacher. Precalculus is one of my best classes and you were
arguably one of the best teachers I had this year. Out of all my teachers you and my English
teacher who Ive also had for the second time in high school know me best and can write the best
recommendation letters for me.
What did you take away from my class?
No matter what you do, you have to study and work hard for it. Precalculus is essentially
an extension of the Trigonometry/Algebra II class from sophomore year so I was very
comfortable and familiar with the material. But I still had to study for assessments because you
cannot be so sure and its better to be safe than sorry. I learned that in life in general, you cannot
half-ass something and expect the maximum reward. If you want to achieve an ultimate goal,
you have to expend all your time and energy and give your complete effort.
How did you stand out from other students in the class?
I stood out from the other students because I was driven to learn the material in the
curriculum. I looked forward to Precalculus class the most. When I grow up, I want to become a
businessman so I know how important doing well and understanding math courses are for my
future. I did all of my classwork and homework in a diligent and timely manner. I also

participated in class on a rather frequent basis. But above all, I had fun in Precalculus. Although
it may be difficult and complex at times, the feeling you get from completing a difficult problem
is very gratifying.
Student Recommendation for: Steven Zhou
What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
What is/are your biggest strength(s)?
-Adapting to new situations
-Giving whatever task at hand my complete and undivided attention and effort
-Im not lazy and do not put anything off to the very last minute because thats when things are
rushed and the quality is not as great as it could be
-Desire to become the best that I possibly can be
What is your biggest weakness?
-Although I rarely procrastinate, sometimes I do not produce the best quality work that I can by
doing the least possible work necessary
Is there anything specific that you would like me to include in this recommendation? If so, what?
I have the mentality and mindset of a businessman. Sometimes, I purchase highly sought
after sneakers and sell them on a secondary market for a price higher than what I paid for making
profit. I use this money that I profit to sustain myself; I try not to rely on my parents for giving
me money because they already do so much for me.
