DATA CENTRE & CLOUD SERVICES : A GLOBAL BANK CASE STUDY

Through an international network linked by advanced technology, including a rapidly growing e-commerce capability, the bank corporation provides a comprehensive
range of personal and corporate financial services including private, commercial and
investment banking.
Instead of investing in an on-site infrastructure, the bank corporation decided to
look at a third-party-provided Managed Hosting solution. They sought a certified
data center that complied with the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) standards and could support the 72 rack space needed for their banking, data
processing and software lines of business. They had their international and global
IT team assess different facilities to determine which facility would be capable of
hosting their servers.
Tata Communications offered global data center services which included Colocation, Managed Hosting and Managed Storage services. The services were all delivered with high quality and consistency from Tata Communications data centers
that covered more than one million square feet worldwide. The bank corporation
originally requested colocation services at a Tata Communications data center.
After reviewing their requirements, Tata Communications made an integrated offer
that would include colocation services at their Tier-3 data center (a PoP center
in Hyderabad, that is currently the customers primary data center) and diverse
National Long Distance (NLD) links connecting the bank via Tata Communications
high capacity Tier-1 backbone to all of its worldwide locations.

hand services with its highly available and skilled staff to complement the needs of
the bank corporation, additionally the data center facilities were all fully integrated
