Soccer Journal SECONDARY Assessment
Soccer Journal SECONDARY Assessment
A list of the soccer skills covered in class that day (Ex. Dribbling a ball)
A list of the activities used to improve those skills (Ex. Dribbling a ball
through cones, dribbling to a spot without a defender, protecting the ball
from a defender while dribbling, etc)
Description of why or why not you think this drill will help improve the skill
(Ex. Dribbling through cones teaches you to use both feet so you can dribble
any direction)
The number of repetitions you practiced each activity (Ex. 3 tries to dribble
against a defender)
Your personal opinion on the activities (What you excelled at, what you had
trouble with, what confused you, if you enjoyed activities, if you would feel
inclined to practice these activities at home, if there were an activity you
would like to see that was not covered, etc)
Your interest level in the activity (Ex. I really like Soccer and I play Soccer, so
Im interested in dribbling)
At the end of the journal, you will tell whether or not you believe you have improved
your skill level in Soccer related skills. You will also provide examples or give
descriptions of the ways you noticed an improvement in skills. Finally, tell what
types of exercise you feel you used the most during the topic (endurance, strength,
balance, flexibility, etc) not what type each day, just an overview of the type(s)
used most.
The Journal will be turned in at the end of the topic (soccer), so it must be kept up
with and worked on after each class period. It is possible there could be random
checks throughout the topic to make sure you are staying on top of it.
