Part Time Position
JOB SUMMARY:
The Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse is responsible to the Home Care Registered Nurse for providing
community-based, in-home nursing services. The role of the PT R.P.N. is to assist the Home Care
Registered Nurse with the delivery of primary and tertiary health care, medical emergencies, and
medical/comfort treatments to clients in the Home and Community Care Program.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution
Diploma in Registered Nursing accepted as well
Previous Home Care or Community Health work experience
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Must be a member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario (at the time of hire);
Must have current membership with the RPNAO (at the time of hire);
Current CPR/First Aid
Immunizations must be up to date
Certification in Foot Care from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred
Certification in Palliative Care from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred
RPN-External

OTHER:
Must be able to provide a Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and must not have prior convictions
of violent crimes, child related offences or other job related convictions.
Must have a valid class G drivers license
