the201617academicyear,theMissouriValleyConferenceannouncedThursday(June2).
TheBearswillhostthe2016MVCMen'sSoccerChampionshipatBettyandBobbyAllisonSouthStadium,
November813the2017MVCOutdoorTrack&FieldChampionships,alsoatAllisonSouthStadium,May11
14andthe2017MVCBaseballChampionshipatHammonsField,May2427.
ThesesiteawardswereapprovedbytheleaguesJointCommittee(facultyathleticsrepresentatives,directors
ofathleticsandseniorwomanadministratorsofeachinstitution)andaresubjecttoratificationattheMVC
PresidentsCouncilmeetingonJune16.
"WereverypleasedthatTheValleyhasselectedustohosttheseevents,saidMissouriStateDirectorof
AthleticsKyleMoats.ThiswillgiveusanopportunitytoshowcasethenewBettyandBobbyAllisonSouth
Stadiumfortwogreatchampionshipevents.Andwerealwaysproudtohostpostseasonbaseballeventsat
HammonsFieldandlookforwardtoservingasthehostinstitutionforthe2017tournamentthere."
MSUlasthostedtheMVCmen'ssoccertournamentin1998whenCooperSoccerComplexservedasthehost
facility.TheBearsfell10toNo.13Creightoninthatchampionshipgameandlookforwardtotheopportunityto
playhosttotheeventintheheartoftheSpringfieldcampusforthefirsttimethisfall.Thenewlooksoccerevent
willfeaturegamesonNov.8,9,11and13withallsevenleagueteamsadvancingtothetournament.Tuesdays
singlematchwillfeaturetheNo.6seedvs.theNo.7seedwiththewinnerfacingtheNo.3seedon
Wednesday.ThesemifinalswillbeplayedFridaywiththechampionshipmatchonSunday,Nov.13.The
winnerofthetournamentreceivesanautomaticbidtotheNCAAMensSoccerChampionship.Allsixmatches
willbeonTheValleyonESPN3

campusinSpringfield.Thesoccerandtrackcomplexhas1,000permanentseatswithdesignedroomfor
portableseatingareasalongthewestside.Thelightedfacility,whichopenedin201415,alsohasastateof
theartscoreboard,twolockerrooms,pressbox,concessionsareaandartificialturfinfield.
Onthebaseballside,HammonsFieldwillserveasthehostsiteoftheValleybaseballeventforthefourthtime.
TheBearsmostrecentlyhostedthetournamentin2012andplayedhostatthe8,000seatfacilityin2004and
2007.HammonsFieldwasalsothehostsiteforthe2015NCAASpringfieldRegional.Allgamesofthe2017
ChampionshipwillbetelevisedliveonESPN3.
