growl. This extra-bold Tundra is available

2016 Toyota Tundra


Its true what they say, everything is
bigger in Texas, and that goes for the Toyota
Tundra family of full-size pickups assembled
there. Tundra is big in stature, power and
model choice, with 50 total configurations
available. And, Limited, Platinum, 1794
Edition and TRD Pro models have a bigger
fuel tank for 2016 -- now 38 gallons vs. 26.4
before plus a standard integrated Trailer
Brake Control.
The Tundra, which adds front end styling
updates on the SR5 and 1794 Edition, is
also big on carrying and pulling things, with
bed length up to 8.1 feet and trailer towing
capacity up to 10,500 pounds. Big also
describes cabin room, with up to 42.3 inches
of rear seat legroom in CrewMax models -better than some luxury sedans.

TRD Pro Models: On Target for Off-Road


Got trails? The Tundra offers an available
TRD Off-Road Package on SR5, Limited
and, also for 2016, the 1794 Edition. Or,
go all in with the TRD Pro off-road model.
Youll know it when you see it by the old
school TOYOTA grille, TRD Pro bed panel
stamping, aluminum skid plate, matte
black badges and black headlight bezels.
The TRD Pro takes an aggressive stance on
18-inch TRD black alloy wheels wrapped in
Michelin Off-Road Package tires.
The Tundra TRD Pro is ready for any
terrain with a complete TRD suspension
upgrade that raises the front of the vehicle
two inches for a level ride height and extends
wheel travel at all four corners. The package
includes larger diameter TRD-tuned Bilstein

Theres no shortage of choices in the
Tundra line, which offers three cab styles:
two-door Regular Cab, four-door Double
Cab, and the super-sized four-door
CrewMax. Tundra Regular Cab models
come exclusively with a long bed (8.1foot) configuration. Double Cab models
are offered in the standard-bed (6.5-foot)
or long-bed (8.1-foot) configurations and
include rear under seat tray storage on the
SR5 and Limited grades. The CrewMax
comes with a 5.5-foot bed; all Tundra beds
are 22.2-in. deep.
Tundras are equipped with several clever
features for added convenience and value.
For example, the front and rear bumpers use
three-piece construction for reduced repair
costs; the available spray-in bed liner also
adds value; the easy-lower-and-lift tailgate
lowers slowly with no slam, can easily be
removed when necessary and comes standard
with a lock feature to help prevent theft;

Limited trim Double Cab models come


standard with a power sliding horizontal rear
window, while all CrewMax models have a
power vertical sliding rear window.
All V8, All Muscle
Tundra comes standard with the 4.6-liter
i-Force V8 that doles out 310 horsepower
at 5,600 rpm and 327 lb.-ft. of peak torque
at 3,400 rpm. The most popular Tundra
engine and one of the most capable and
advanced in the full-size pickup segment
-- is the available 5.7-liter i-Force V8. Its a
remarkably refined workhorse that generates
381 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 401 lb.-ft.
of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. For 2016, 22 of
those with the 5.7-liter V8 are certified FlexFuel Vehicles (FFVs) that can use up to E85
blend fuel (available in select markets).
Both V8s feature an aluminum cylinder
block and double overhead-cam heads
with four valves per cylinder. In both, Dual
Independent Variable Valve Timing with
intelligence (VVT-i) and Acoustic Control
Induction System get credit for a broad
torque curve. Both engines come teamed
with a 6-speed electronically controlled
automatic transmission.
Built to Tow
Dont take all towing claims at face
value. Ask to see its SAE J2807 towing
standard certification. The Toyota Tundra
was the first to adopt this standard in 2011.
With the standard Tow Package, 5.7-liter
V8 Tundra offers a maximum tow capacity
of 10,500 pounds (4x2 Regular Cab). So
equipped, Tundra uses a one-piece towing
receiver integrated into the frame prior to bed
installation.
The Tow Package upgrades Tundras
cooling and electrical systems, as well.
Integrated engine and transmission oil
coolers help handle the demands of towing
under a full load, and a heavy-duty battery
and alternator are added. The 7- and 4-pin
towing hitch connectors sit above the hitch
to help avoid damage during high-departureangle driving.
Tundra models equipped with the
Tow Package also come with a selectable
TOW/HAUL shift mode for transmission.
The TOW/HAUL mode adjusts throttle
sensitivity and transmission shift control,
favoring and holding lower gears when
accelerating or decelerating to help enhance
control and safety.
Anyone who tows will appreciate
Trailer Sway Control. A function of Vehicle
Stability Control, Trailer Sway Control
helps counteract handling forces that can
cause trailer sway. An integrated Trailer
Brake Controller is also now included, with

controls by the drivers knee and a status


screen on the multi-information display
screen.
All Tundra models come standard with
a backup camera (viewed from the Entune
Audio display screen or available navigation
screen). On 5.7-liter models, heated,
power, outside tow mirrors with turn signal
indicators and manual-extend feature are
available.
2016 Nissan Titan XD
The all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD
full-size pickup has been named one of
three finalists for the 2016 North American
Truck/Utility of the Year (NATOY) and
was recently named Truck of Texas by
the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA)
in their annual 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo,
which puts the industrys best trucks,
SUVs and CUVs through a grueling twoday evaluation at the historic Knibbe Ranch
in Spring Branch, Texas. In addition to the
competitions top award, Truck of Texas,
the new TITAN XD won three other honors
Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, Off-Road
Pickup Truck of Texas and Best Powertrain
for its available Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo
Diesel engine.

The TITAN XDs long list of innovative


available technologies include an Integrated
Trailer Brake Controller, Trailer Sway
Control (TSC), Tow/Haul Mode with
Downhill Speed Control and a Trailer
Light Check system that allows one-person
hook-up operation including checking
turn signals, brake lights and running/
clearance lights. Assisting trailer hook-ups
is a RearView Monitor with Trailer Guides.
TITAN XD also offers an available Around
View Monitor (AVM), which provides a
unique birds eye view of the surrounding
area to help with parking and pulling in and
out of tight spaces. The system includes
Moving Object Detection (MOD). Two
trailer hitches are available, including an
integrated gooseneck hitch engineered into
the frame and easily accessible in the bed.
The TITAN XD is offered in five grade
levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum Reserve and the
sporty PRO-4X grade with standard offroad features such as 18-inch aluminumalloy wheels with all-terrain off-road tires,
Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, electronic
locking rear differential and skid plates. The

The all-new 2016 Nissan Titan XD isnt
just breaking new ground for the automaker
as its first significant attempt to compete
in the highly competitive and profitable
full-size pickup truck marketplace. The
Titan XD is also breaking new ground for
the industry, offering a tweener model
that sits smack in the middle of the wellestablished 150/1500 and 250/2500 pickup
truck segments.
The editors also called the TITAN XDs
standard smart and torquey Cummins
5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine the trucks
secret weapon. The engine is rated at

A suspending jerkbait must do three
things really well: be castable, suspend and
deliver maximum action with minimal rod
movement. Designed by legendary jerkbait
angler David Fritts and B.A.S.S. Elite Pro
Justin Lucas, the new Berkley Cutter gives
anglers a reason to believe in a jerkbait once
again.
Berkley Cutter jerkbaits possess qualities
that pros rely on when fishing in colder
waters. The long, narrow body of the Cutter
allows this jerkbait to be thrown easily with

Berkley Digger 6.5 and Digger 8.5
crankbaits are new for 2016. Designed by
legendary angler David Fritts and Berkley
engineers, the Digger has an aggressive
wobble with maximum side flash and doesnt
waste any time getting deep.
The teardrop-shaped bill on the 2-inch
Digger 6.5 and 2.5-inch Digger 8.5 allows
the bait to dive quickly, reaching down to 9
feet deep. Castability is important when it
comes to crankbaits of this size and when
the Berkley team designed the Digger series
they built a bait that can be cast a country
mile. This gives anglers the opportunity to
put distance between the fish and the boat,
getting the bait to the proper depth and
decreasing the likelihood of spooked fish.
Pauses intermittent throughout the retrieve
will cause the Digger to rise slowly. This
subtle rise is unlike any other crankbait on
the market. The Digger also features 3D eyes
and gill slits to add to the lifelike features of
the bait.
Varying the retrieve of the Digger is
important to success. Often fish are in the
mood to chase, but sometimes a slower

2015 Ram ProMaster City Wagon


Continuing its commercial offering
momentum, Ram Truck announces pricing
and fuel economy for the all-new 2015
ProMaster City. The base Manufacturers
Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2015
Ram ProMaster City Cargo is $23,130, plus
$995 for destination. The MSRP for the 2015
Ram ProMaster City Wagon starts at $24,130
plus $995 destination.
The new Ram ProMaster City enters the
Class 1 market with a long list of customerfocused, best-in-class features, including
the highest available payload and cargo
capacities, said Bob Hegbloom, President
and CEO Ram Truck Brand. Customers
can look to Ram Commercial for a full line
of trucks and vans that set the standard for
cost of ownership and innovation.
With the 2.4-liter Tigershark and exclusive
9-speed automatic transmission, the 2015

Ram ProMaster City delivers EPA fuel


economy of 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway
and 24 mpg combined. The ProMaster City
also offers an unsurpassed 2,000 pounds of
towing capacity.
The Ram ProMaster City holds a set of
hard-working credentials, starting with a
48.4-inch span between the rear wheel wells,
the widest in the class. The width between
the ProMaster Citys wheel wells provides an
extra margin of capacity, allowing building
materials and pallets to be loaded quickly
and easily.
Above the wheel wells, the ProMaster
Citys nearly vertical side panels offer a
width dimension of 60.4 inches. Combined
with an interior roof height of 51.8 inches,
the result is best-in-class volume of 131.7
cubic feet for the cargo van version of the
ProMaster City.
The rear of the Ram ProMaster City is
fitted with 60/40 split rear doors. Using

a three-passenger second row. The secondrow seating is split 60/40, with each section
capable of folding and tumbling forward to
expand cargo room.
The all-new 2015 Ram ProMaster City
is powered by the 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4
generating a best-in-class 178 horsepower at
6,400 rpm, while its peak torque 174 lb.-ft.
(231 Nm) at 3,900 rpm is greater than any
standard-equipment engine in the segment.
The centerpiece of the all-new ProMaster
Citys powertrain is its segment-exclusive
nine-speed automatic transmission. The
ProMaster City is the first commercial van
ever to feature a nine-speed automatic, and
one of the first vehicles to be so equipped in
automotive history.
The 2015 Ram ProMaster City is
assembled at the TOFAS plant in Bursa,
Tu r k e y. Aw a r d e d t h e Wo r l d C l a s s
Manufacturing Gold Medal, this 3.6-millionsquare-foot (83.7-acre) state-of-the-art plant
also assembles the Fiat Dobl. The optional
cargo van configuration is upfitted at the
Chrysler Group Transformation Center in

2015 BMW X6 M
With the introduction of the all-new
2015 BMW X6, the company celebrates
the second generation of the worlds firstever Sports Activity Coupe. When the
company took the bold step of combining
the performance of a BMW Sports Activity
Vehicle with the emotional design character
of a traditional coupe, BMW created
a vehicle concept that the market had not
yet even conceived of. With global sales
of 250,000 X6s to date, it is clearly a
concept that the marketplace has embraced.
In additional to an updated and even more
extroverted design, the new X6 introduces
the first rear-wheel drive model in the lineup with the X6 sDrive35i, powered by
BMWs award-winning 300 horsepower
TwinPower Turbo inline six. It joins models
with xDrive, BMWs intelligent all-wheel
drive system the BMW X6 xDrive35i
and the X6 xDrive50i featuring BMWs
updated 445 horsepower TwinPower Turbo

4.4-liter V8. All models are equipped with


BMWs 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic
transmission. The new 2015 BMW X6
will again be produced exclusively at
the companys production facility in
Spartanburg, South Carolina and will arrive
in US showrooms in late 2014. Pricing
for the X6 sDrive35i will start at $60,550,
the X6 xDrive35i will start at $62,850 and
the X6 xDrive50i will start at $73,850
(All prices include $950 Destination and
Handling).
An extensive selection of options, the new
xLine and M Sport all create additional scope
for tailoring the new BMW X6 precisely
to individual tastes in terms of luxury and
dynamics.
Customers can choose from six colors for
the standard Dakota leather trim, including
the new variants Cognac and Coral Red. Seat
heating for the driver and front passenger
is standard, while heated rear seats are
available in the Cold Weather Package.
Driving pleasure and long-distance comfort
can also be enhanced with features including
the standard BMW Navigation System with
touchpad Controller, the Bang & Olufsen
surround-sound system and the new Rear
Entertainment System. All model variants of
the new BMW X6 feature standard 19-inch
light-alloy wheels. Additional 19-inch

as well as 20-inch light-alloys are also


available.
M Sport can also be ordered for all models
of the new BMW X6. The dynamic character
of the Sports Activity Coupe is accentuated
by aerodynamically optimized body elements
with large air intakes at the front end,
strikingly contoured side skirts, a diffuser
insert for the rear apron, as well as a bespoke
BMW kidney grille design with bars in matte
aluminum and high-gloss chrome exhaust
tailpipe embellishers in the trapezoidal
geometry that is standard on the X6
xDrive50i. The lower borders of the wheel
arches along with the side skirts are painted
in body color. M Sport also includes BMW
Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim,

appeal of its award-winning Azera premium

for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400,
which will be broadcast on NBCSN at 2:30
p.m. ET, and will feature a weekend of

with the iconic Heroes in a Half Shell.
NASCAR star Danica Patrick, a
Roscoe, Illinois native, helped kick off
the partnership in true Turtles style. She
unveiled her No. 10 April ONeil/Natures
Bakery Chevrolet SS at an event at Wrigley
Square in Millennium Park with the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, then took her car for
a spin down Michigan Ave. She will join a
number of other drivers with Teenage Mutant

Go RVings Away Rolls Strongly into a


Third Year
On the heels of two successful years, Go
RVings AWAY national advertising effort
is back for a third campaign.
Expanding the proven mix of integrated
advertising in the nations top television,
print, digital and social media outlets, the
campaign utilizes emotion-evoking messages
and images designed to resonate with the
target markets and continue to propel the
demand for RVs forward.
The $13 million 2014 media budget is
highlighted by the campaigns first-ever
tie-in with a live music festival Live
Nations Jamboree in the Hills, known as
the Super Bowl of Country Music. The
38th annual festival in Morristown, OH will
attract 100,000 attendees and feature country
music notables including Keith Urban, Tim
McGraw, Little Big Town, Montgomery
Gentry, Darius Rucker, Diamond Rio and
more. With most attendees camping on the
festival grounds for the four days, two custom
vignettes featuring headliners and Go RVingprovided RVs will be part of the sponsorship
package. Those vignettes will air on CMT.
Product integrations will continue to be an
important element in Go RVing efforts and
include a spring RV sweepstakes with the
Outdoor Channel and consumer events with
Garden & Gun and Country Livingwhere
consumers will be able tour RVs for a handson experience.
Last summer, Go RVing produced 30 and
60-second Victory TV spots depicting
family tailgating traditions that were the
centerpieces of widely-successful college
football/tailgating initiatives that extended
the campaigns reach well into the fall. That
effort will be expanded and repeated in the
fall of 2014 with ESPN, Sports Illustrated and
CBS Sports.
With race fans being another key target
market whose interests easily align with
RVing, Go RVing will air TV spots on the
JumboTron at the main entrance of the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2014
Indianapolis 500 where over one million
people will see the ads over the three-day
event.
Go RVings television portion of the media
buy includes a partnership with Destination
America, a Discovery network, to air custom
profiles of real RVers. With its focus on
exploring the place, people and stories of
the United States, it offers a great fit for the
emotionally-driven messages of Go RVings
television commercials. Throughout the
year, Go RVing spots and custom-produced
programming will also be seen on FS1,
National Geographic, National Geographic
Wild, the Outdoor Channel and CMT.

The broadcast plan also includes direct


response advertising on 30 popular cable
networks from January through December.
All of these outlets have a solid record of
running Go RVing spots at optimum times
of day and delivering strong lead response.
Digital media advertising is constantly
evolving and remains a centerpiece of
Go RVings effort. In addition to banner
ads appearing on top websites and search
engines, this year Go RVing will launch
ads that are tailored to individuals through
native advertising.
Native ads allow advertisers to bring
a custom message to online viewers
through a variety of mediums including
video, providing a uniquely individualized
experience. Consumers are able to link
directly toGoRVing.com through ads that
are running on lead generating sites such as
Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Facebook as well

The print portion of the 2014 plan
includes a host of magazines that offer a
strong demographic for the ads and a good
editorial environment. Issues featuring Go
RVing ads began to appear in January and
will continue through September.
Go RVing continues to leverage multifaceted partnerships with its advertisers and
seven of the print publications are providing
added components like custom vignettes,
pull & save sponsored booklets, tablet
apps and branded websites. As part of the
partnership with Womans Day, the popular
Casserole Queens produced two videos
demonstrating casserole recipes to make

Go RVings AWAY emotion-driven
campaign has proven to be very effective
since launching in 2012. An Advertising
Effectiveness Study conducted last year
found that 39% of the core target market
(families age 30 49 and empty nesters
age 50 64) recalled seeing RV advertising
in 2013 and 20% remembered seeing Go
RVing ads specifically, up slightly from
18% in 2010. In examining the likeability
of the ads, 75% of core families (up from
64% in 2010), 68% of empty nesters
(up from 50%) and 73% of Latinos (up
from 57%) viewed the ads favorably. The
ads also moved the needle on consumer
motivation with 37% of core families and
27% of empty nesters saying they were
more likely to consider buying an RV.
