We hope everyone has fun, enjoyable and competitive matches. We are encouraging good
sportsmanship throughout. Here follows some helpful information and the championship guidelines.
Captains make sure all players are available when called for the matches. Remind
players to use the bathroom well in advance before their court assignments are called. Line-ups
are to be turned in to tournament desk 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time with
players present and ready to play. This will be strictly enforced. Courts may be called up to 30
minutes ahead of scheduled match time.
Format: Matches will be 2 out of 3 sets, with a match tie break (first to 10 points) if split sets.
Regular tie break in first 2 sets (first to 7 points). If split sets, play a 10-pt championship
tiebreak. The Coman tie-break procedure will be used for all tie-breaks: Players will exchange
ends of the court after the first point and every 4 points thereafter. This tie-break procedure
allows doubles teams to continue serving from the same side of the court as they have been
doing throughout the set or match.
There's a 2 min break between all sets. No coaching allowed at any time during the
match.
Change ends after the 1st game of a new set, but no break is taken.
Call the score loud and clear…when serving especially during the 3rd set tiebreak. It's
everyone's responsibility to know the score at all times.
Warm ups: 10 minutes including serves. Umpires will be timing. Warm-up time subject to
change due to court constraints or inclement weather.
Lets: A let can only be called when there's interference from an outside area, such as a ball
coming on the court and must be called immediately. Only call lets, which occur on your court.
Spectators: Talking to players on the court may be perceived as coaching, therefore we ask
that spectators to not talk to their teams while they are playing matches. Commenting on line
calls to players is not allowed.

Clapping and cheering is allowed between points but not in the middle of points. Be conscious
of courts that are playing between you and the court you’re cheering for. They may be in the
middle of a point.
The players, NOT the spectators, must bring any problems on court to the attention
of the tournament staff. Only a player on court may ask a spectator to alert the tournament
staff that they need an umpire.
Bathroom breaks: may be taken, but should be on a changeover and with the umpire's
knowledge if possible.
IMPORTANT: Bring the balls back and report scores IMMEDIATELY after your match.
All players (winners and losers) report scores, as accuracy is important.
Captains sign scorecards after all courts are completed. We also ask that captains check
scorecards either online or after they are printed and placed in the notebook at the tournament
desk for accuracy. Please report any discrepancies immediately to the tournament director.
