Jim Marshall Seen Through The Eyes Of Carlos Santana Exhibit Extended at Mumm Napa
The collection of photographs by
Jim Marshall, curated personally
by Carlos Santana,
is extended through August 31,2016
San Francisco Art Exchange (SFAE)in
association with Mumm Napa, Jim Marshall
Photography LLC and Carlos Santanais
currently featuring Jim Marshall Seen
Through The Eyes Of Carlos Santana, an
exhibit curated by Carlos Santana to show
Jim Marshalls genius as a photographer, a
chronicler of history and portraitist of no
equal.
The exhibit is comprised of 40 original
photographs by Jim Marshall, including
iconic images of Santana and some of Carlos
favorite musicians (mentors and great
influences to Santana).
In addition, Mumm Napas limited release
of Santana Savor, a luscious wine inspired by
the music of Carlos Santana, is also available.
The label features a photograph of Carlos
taken by Marshall and personally chosen by
Carlos to represent the wine. A portion of the
proceeds from the sale of Mumm Napas
Santana Savor Limited Release Wine goes
directly to Carlos Santanas Milagro
Foundation, which benefits underserved and
vulnerable children in the areas of education,
health and the arts.
Marshall and Santana met in 1965
through the Santana Blues Bands road
manager. The manager asked Jim to do a
favor and take a photo of the band. Jim
agreed, and that was the start of a lifelong
friendship. Jim always said that Carlos
seemed to bring out the humanity in him: I
love the guy and he plays the guitar like
nobody else.
This exhibit illustrates that humanity in
Jim Marshall. Carlos curated this exhibit to
show Jims genius as a photographer, a
chronicler of history and portraitist of no
equal. Jim Marshall and Carlos Santanas
friendship is enduring, said Amelia Davis,
Jim Marshall Photography LLC.
Jim Marshall is the most celebrated and
prolific photographer of the 20th century
widely known for his iconic music

Taste History
Located just off the plaza in Sonoma, the winerys hospitality center does an excellent job of
melding old and new. Even though the winery was founded in 1904, modern touches are
evident throughout the tasting room, like the artfully stained cement floors and modern tables
and chairs that are thoughtfully placed around the spacious and elegant tasting room/gift shop.
The ceiling is high and vaulted and is supported by stone walls. Highly set windows let in the
Sonoma sunshine. The tasting bar (complete with a brass foot rail) spans one long wall, so
visitors can relax and taste wine without feeling crowded. The hospitality staff is cheerful and
knowledgeable and right there to answer questions.

Party Club
First Fridays are a fun opportunity for visitors
to rub elbows with Ferarri-Carano wine club
members or perhaps join the club as well.
The shop offers wine and cheese pairings
and keeps the doors open a little longer than
usual. Its a great way to learn about the wine
club, called Circle of Friends, and its
members perks, including discounts on wine
purchases and invitations to special events .
Walk-ins Welcome
Next time youre in Healdsburg, stop by
Seasons of the Vineyard for some great wine,
fun shopping and delectable chocolates.
Take time to linger, and youll surely come
away with an experience like no other.
One of the truly special reasons to come to Seasons of the Vineyard is to embark on its
Chocolate and Wine pairing. Its a journey through an array of Ferrari-Carano red wines and
Scharfen Berger chocolates that will make you think differently about both, and youll never
want one without the other again.
The tasting offers a flight of five wines, including three dry and two sweet reds. The last
wine to taste is Baci, a chocolate-infused late-harvest Zinfandel that needs no chocolate pairing.
It is aged 14 months and blended with a little cognac for a bit of a kick.
The shop also sells individual Scharfen Berger chocloates to take with you and your wine.

Door-to-Door Service
For more than 20 years, Stagecoach Express has been the wine
shipping solution for both Napa Valley Locals and visitors. For your
convenience, they either pick up your wine directly from a Napa
Valley winery, lodging property or private residence, or you can drop
off your goods at the shop located at 3379 Solano Avenue in Napa.
Stagecoach Express specializes in shipping wine cross-country,
paying special attention to every order. They are careful to follow up
with you to make sure your precious shipments have arrived safely.
They understand that what visitors truly want, is to take home their
Napa Valley memories. Owner Sue Bailey, says, Were here because
we want your entire wine country experience to be a positive and
happy one, so lets package up those bottled memories and get them
to your home or office, safe and sound!
They not only ship wine, but will ship any of the other Napa
Valley goods youve found along the way, such as olive oil, soaps,
pastries or whatever else you picked up along your travels.
Shipping Tips
Stagecoach Express recommends shipping wine to a commercial
address because deliveries are made earlier in the day, adult signature
is typically required for most deliveries and this also helps prevent
wine from exposure to elements when left outside at a residence.
Cold Packs
Did you buy artisan cheeses, charcuterie or other perishables that
need to be shipped with cold packs? For an additional cost,
Stagecoach Express can ship these items for you (express delivery
required cold packs last only 2-3 days).

O.A.R.
Known for their vibrant stage presence, O.A.R will close the series on July 30 with a
bang.
In addition to the musical performances, food trucks will make their way to the
winery to add to the lively atmosphere of each concert. Participating food vendors
include: Ring of Fire, Villa Corona, Cousins Lobster, Marks the Spot and Bruschetteria.
The vendor lineup will vary slightly from concert to concert.
Tickets are now on sale for the three performances that have been announced.
Over the last 47 years, more than $2 million has been raised to support a number of
Napa Valley-based charitable organizations as a result of the Robert Mondavi Winery
Summer Concert Series. Proceeds from ticket sales this year will directly benefit Napa
Valley music programs to carry on this tradition.
Ticket prices vary by performance. Doors open at 5 p.m. with performances

Balletto Vineyards
A Convenient Must-Stop!
Balletto Vineyards is conveniently located on the outskirts of Santa Rosa and the perfect
stop as you wend your way through the Russian River Valley. Why? The staff is friendly,
engaging and knowledgeable; the Balletto family is often around to greet you in person;
the surroundings are beautiful; and the wines are wonderful and reasonably priced.
The tasting room is small and intimate, and the welcome is warm and genuine. Once
inside, it feels like you are in a Tuscan villa. The walls are painted warm mustard gold and
a long concrete bar spans one side of the room. A tasteful selection of wine-related gifts is
displayed around the room. If youd like to get outside and stroll through the vineyards,
self-guided vineyard tours are available as well as guided vineyard and winery tours.

In 2002, the Balletto family worked with Sonoma Countys Agriculture Preservation &
Open Space District and generously donated a portion of their estate (the winerys western
boundary) to the Laguna de Santa Rosa. This vast wetland habitat and major tributary of
the Russian River is home to numerous species of birds and animals. It is a local treasure.
The winery is located next to the Laguna de Santa Rosa trail which is open to the public
and offers miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails.

portions of Gerards personal charm and energy and you have the
recipe for a truly memorable food experience. His talents have been
rewarded many times, most notably when he won Bobby Flays
challenge to a paella throwdown.
Sol Flamenco brings a cast of artists who have lived and trained in
Spain, the birthplace of flamenco. The group has been working
together for many years and it shows in the dancers precision
footwork, the guitarists bold accompaniment and the companys
strong stage presence
Thursday, August 4 Tapas by Paella Guy, Music by Duarte
Guests will enjoy offerings from the Paella Guy who has been a
favorite over the years at the Ferrer Familys past Catalan Festivals.
Duartes musical style is firmly based in traditional Latin music,
while referencing elements of funk and jazz fusion.
