Qualifications and Experience

Personal Character: I want to develop contagious worshipers who model what it means to
celebrate Jesus. Committed to Bible study and prayer is foundational to an effective, Spirit-led
worship ministry. I lead a Christ-centered, biblically-based lifestyle which is above reproach,
possessing the spiritual qualifications of an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1; and I
appreciate the value of individual and corporate worship in enhancing individual and church-wide
spiritual growth.

Experience: I have served as hands on production manager, road manager, music director,
worship leader, director and pastor of worship for over ten years. I have a proven record of
successful team-based worship ministry and a clear understanding of worship in the local church
context. I have a general knowledge of traditional worship and a significant experience working
with contemporary worship art forms and practices i.e. Traditional, Congregational, Postmodern,
Emergent, Gospel, Praise and Worship, Hillsong and CCM. I am also a continuous learner, willing
to pursue further education as needed to carry out the duties and responsibilities in the position
of worship pastor. My teams have been mostly made up of small group vocalist, guitar & bass
players, piano & synthesizer players, drummers, percussionist, organ, djembe & conga players,
with an occasional woodwind group, chamber orchestra, flute, saxophone, and trumpet. I have
always encouraged the congregation to participate in worship teams regardless of their aptitude
or the kind of instrument they played. If ability or heart was ever an issue I would find ways to
help them attain their goals.

Leadership Style: Although leadership is my primary spiritual gift, coupled with the ability to
pastor/shepherd and administer, I am first a team player and desire to collaborate creatively with
others to plan and lead worship services.

My expectations of the Church: In the role of worship pastor/director I would need to stay
connected to the national and worldwide worship movement through regular research, reading,
and conferences, which provide professional development and skill enhancement in worship. This
might include Passion, Promise Keepers, large church conferences (Willow Creek, Saddleback,
Vineyard, GMWA, and GMA etc.), Six Steps, and others. I would expect the church to send me to
these types of enrichment events a few times a year. I would also like to be responsible and
accountable for the worship services budget, spending and structure.

Skills and Abilities

Able to write, arrange and transcribe music from CDs to word/chord charts for piano and voice.
Able to train all voice types
Proficient at computer, Internet, and a variety of software applications (PC and Mac)
Multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure and deadlines
