She gives encouragement and praise like:

this.
She takes the park flashcards (54-58) to elicit
the vocabulary for this lesson. She holds
them up and says the words so that children
can repeat after her. She repeats the action
again.
She models any words children dont know.
Teacher asks children to open their Class
Book on page 34 and look at the exercise 1pictures of things from the park. There are 5
new words for them. She plays the first part
of the recording for children to listen and
point to appropriate picture. She plays the
second part of the recording for children to
repeat.
She plays the recording all the way through
again for children to listen and point and then
repeat the words in chorus. She holds up
flashcards 54-58 one at a time and asks
individual children to say the words.

chant. She plays the chant a second time for
children to say the words. She repeats the
recording more than once if necessary.
This time they can point to the correct
flashcard, as they hear it.
Ask pupils to close their book and say the
chant from memory.
She controls tempo so that they speak slowly
from beginning to end.

recording for them to listen She walks
around the class and motivates them to talk.
She encourages predictions from different
members of the class. She points to each
speech bubble in turn as they hear the text.
She asks comprehension questions: What
game are Tim and his dad playing?Where is
the ball? Where does it go? Who gets a
goal? Then teacher asks pupils to open the
CB and read the story in pairs.
