Discussion
- Other CT fi ndings of lymphoma
not seen in this patient include:
1. Soft tissue pulmonary nodule
indicating tumour involvement of
the lung parenchyma
2. Pulmonary air-space opacities,
another radiological
manifestation of tumour
infi ltration
3. Pleural effusion
- Common causes for hilar and
mediastinal lymph node enlargement
include
1. Lymphoma, especially in young
patients
2. Metastatic disease, patients
usually have known history of
underlying malignancy
(Fig. 14c, d)
3. Infection such as tuberculosis,
usually with lung parenchymal
changes in addition to hilar/
mediastinal lymphadenopathy
4. Sarcoidosis,
