ROAD MAP TO GET OPTIMUM LIFE FROM LADLE &

REDUCING COST
1. Bring the ladle to lancing area within 10 min of casting after dumping the slag
in the slag yard zone or C.I. slag pot.
2. Clean the slag deposition of the ladle with the help of o 2 lancing.
3. Use lance pipe to clean the porous plug and nozzle from front side of ladle.
4. Clean the nozzle with the help of compressed air & close the slide gate with
the help of slide gate cylinder.
5. Ensure that lance pipe should not melt or oxidised with the porous plug during
cleaning.
6. Always maintain the distance of 10 to 20 mm while lancing.
7. Ensure o2 pressure should be maintain at 10 -12 kg/cm 2
8. Check the porous plug by passing air through back side of porous plug.
9. During cleaning of nozzle ensure that nobody should stand in front of ladle.
10. After getting signal from furnace for tapping remove the ladle from the ladle
Preheater.
11. Lift the ladle with the help of 35/25 Mt crane and dump any residual in the
ladle.
12. Ensure that the ladle nozzle should be fully closed & clean.
13. Bring the ladle to NFC filling platform and fill the preheated NFC slowly &
lightly in case of transfer ladle.
14. Ensure that all the work hand and technician should wear the safety
appliances.
15. Place the ladle in front of furnace for tapping, ensuring that flow should not fall

at side wall as well as on NFC.
