Cost: $50
Description: This workshop will focus on integrating advanced HVAC systems with sub-hourly annual
energy simulation. Highlights will include:
Introduction to ApacheHVAC
Autosizing HVAC systems with integrated, customizable airside and hydronic unit controls
Advanced VAV systems with min OA reset and/or zone-CO2-based DCV
ASHRAE standard 62.1 and 170 ventilation requirements and settings
DOAS with floor-by-floor AHUs and interzonal transfer-air configurations
Low energy systems: Evaporative cooling, radiant cooling, chilled beams, displacement ventilation
Waterside HVAC, including integrated WSE, pre-cooling, independent secondary loop controls
Water-loop heat pumps with solar and water-source heat rejection and acquisition
Whole building energy analysis with integrated advanced HVAC systems
The software tool used for this workshop will be IES-VE.

IMPORTANT: Trainees should have the IES VE software installed on their own laptops before arriving at the
training course AND should have a valid training license. It is strongly recommended that this is complete at
